    Weakest Combo?

PK have you tried a MAN build yet?
  3. If you actually went to one of those sites you should scan your computer for malware and keyloggers.

HijackThis and a tutorial on how to use it. I regret to say that I am serious, these websites are not known for their integrity and honesty. Feel free to post your HijackThis log in our Tech forum.

The forums are changing the end of this week, wait until then.

To help you plan your character you should take a look at the Guide to Guides, and also download Mids Hero Designer. Mids is currently in the hands of Steiner and he's working on an update to it now.

With Mids you can play around with the IO sets and see how the bonuses work, they can be real sexy.

    Funny AFK

    Not funny but true.

    /AFK CAT VOMIT!

The cat was ON the computer desk at the time.

Just for the hell of it, try this also: F-Secure Blacklight, its a rootkit scanner. Can't hurt to check.

When you have a dialog box that's too big so that you can't hit the button, just type

    /dialog_yes

Answer OK, Yes, or Accept to current dialog

    And just to be contrary

    /dialog_no

Answer OK, No, or Cancel to current dialog

It sounds like you need to resize your windows. What screen resolution are you using?

Thanks. Just maxed mine at 120x45.
Now I don't have to chop stuff out and edit in a notepad.

You learned just in time for the Forum transfer

    Oh well

Upon due consideration I probably shouldn't have bothered posting the instructions considering that they will be moot next week.

And last but not least, why is that posting box so tiny?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can change the size of the posting box.

    1) Click on My Home up on the top of page.
    2) Under Main Configuration look for Display preferences, number of shown topics, languages, colors... Now hit the Edit button next to it.
    3) Most of the way down you will see a box labeled TextArea columns? with the number 60 in it. Change 60 to 120. Now underneath that box is one labeled TextArea rows? with the number 5 in it. Change 5 to 10.
    4) Hit Submit at the bottom of the page.

You posting box is now four times as large as it was.
  12. A good amount also spawn in Nerva near the ferry. Every time you enter or leave the ferry in Nerva (and you know you do it a lot because there's NO BM or Lab in Nerva!) zip around that island. You'll find you can nab a good amount that way so it cuts down the amount of dedicated farming you need to do for that badge.
  13. Its especially frustrating with a Stalker. You AS out of hide and one shot your target, THEN your dead target turns around and clobbers you!

Oh well, the life (and death) of a stalker is not an easy one.
  14. The Excel spreadsheet you are looking for is on VidiotMaps downloads page. Its the second from the bottom.
  15. Ultimus, The MB you are using, nForce 750i SLI, is known for video corruption and crashes. EVGA has updated their BIOS several times to try to address the problem, the last release was 03/16/2009. I'd say contact EVGA support and see what they can do for you. Sorry I don't have any other suggestions.

Edit: When I google searched this problem all the specific cases I saw were 9xxx series cards which might explain why you didn't see this until you replaced your 8800 with the 9800. That doesn't mean all 8800 cards are safe or all 9xxx cards are bad, out of hundreds of posts I read 3 and they were 9xxx cards. EVGA support should be able to give you more info than me doing a half hour goggle search.
  16. Just type

    /window_reset_all

That command resets all window locations, sizes, and visibility to their defaults. The windows are: Target (toggled by t), Navigation (toggled by n), Health/Endurance/Experience bar, Chat (toggled by c), and the Power Trays.
  17. Texas don't be surprised when the next you log in, all your characters have had their costumes genericed.

  18. I see this problem on other tech forums also, I think the 3 days wait is more than reasonable. Unless someone can present a legitimate reason for not going with a

"3 days of no response after supplying any asked for information ==> OK to bump"

policy, I'd say lets sticky this.
  19. Looking over your info I think you need to run some diagnostics on your hardware.

Speed fan to monitor your temperatures.

If your temps look good, try some memory testing, here is a brief set of instructions on how to do it.

Mid-forever talks about some testing software here in the ++ Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines ++ sticky in this forum.

Also, you have a lot of programs running at start up that you just don't need, use msconfig to stop some of those start ups. You can read about that here.
  20. Someone made a nice list of actual power usage of some video cards here.

    A typical 8800GT is about 80 watts, a typical 9800GT is about 120 watts.

The total wattage of a power supply does not tell the story. These guys explain it better than I could: Wiki and review site.

Short answer: if its a power supply deficiency, unplugging an optical drive probably won't help. The optical drive pulls very little power if there's no disk in it.

I've never really liked PvP, because of the people. If they win, they insult you. If they lose, they insult you. Whatever you're doing is always lame, cheap, cheating, or something wrong. If you lose, you're the worst player ever and should be made fun of. If you win, you obviously did something to hack the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't PvP although I do run into PvP zones for missions and of course nukes and shivans. I have heard trash talk while the fighting is going on, but after the fight I've also heard serious constructive critiques of the fights by those involved. Very rarely have I heard any sore loser or 'a-hole' winner insults flying after a defeat.

Virtually every PvPer I've interacted with has been good natured about zone PvP, and although none of them take the "I'm only here for badges/shivans/nukes" excuse, I've found them to be a decent part of our community.
  22. Human Being has the best advice here, but he didn't touch on the topic of Franken-Slotting which can really help out some builds and is a bit cheaper than full IO sets.

Capn Canadian talks about IOs and Franken-Slotting (although he doesn't use that term) here. Its a good discussion of IOs that concentrates on the enhancement values, not set bonuses.

There are more IO guides in the Guide to Guides.
  23. Maybe he just logged in during an invasion and it overloaded his computer. They have been running this weekend.
  24. I had a similar problem a couple months ago, my connection was slow and I lost packets all over the place, web pages constantly timed out and I couldn't stay connected to on line games.

I needed some ammo to take with me on my upcoming CS calls. What I did was ping my ISP www.verizon.net and saw that I lost 25% of the packets sent. This was fantastic ammo, "I have a really slow connection, I drop packets and web pages time out. I can't even ping verizon.net with out losing packets."

I called CS and told them that and we do the CS dance. We finish the dance and the CS rep determines its not my computer so I get escalated.

We repeat the dance with the new CS rep, which by the way does go much faster since this person DOES have the records of the previous CS rep, and they send out a tech to check my land line from the pole to the computer (not just the line to the house). The tech rewires and pronounces the line better than perfect. Still lots of lost packets though.

Call CS again and talk to the second CS rep (whose contact info she had given me) and we reconfirmed that I had the same problem and I get escalated once again.

Two days later I get a call from a Senior Network Engineer apologizing for the problems I've been having and telling me they finally tracked down the problem to a bad server in their network. And BTW, he told me that I was the ONLY person out of thousands affected who actually complained and thanked me for sticking it out with CS and getting it to his attention.

Once I finally got to this level it still took 2 weeks for them to replace servers and iron out their network issues, so all in all it took just over a month to get my ISP fixed.

What does this have to do with you? Just keep plugging away at CS, do their dance and eventually you will get to someone who will fix your problem. Think about the ammo you're bringing with you to these calls. Try to be clear and calm when talking to the CS reps and follow their scripts till they've exhausted their responses, that will get you escalated to a new CS rep (just think of it as opening new contacts via paper missions red side ).

You might want to tell us a little bit more about your problem. The proper presentation of your issues can speed things up with CS.
  25. Use TweakCoH to change your resolution and placement of the window that CoH runs in.
