I tested some pvp on my SS/Fire brute tonight. I went in RV with my pve build, then decided to use my alternate build for a pvp respec.
I checked Mids and saw that Flurry, Kick, Jump Kick... etc were much better than any of my attacks ! What's even the point of having a primary ?
Now I wish they could revert to old i11-i12 pvp (even if I rarely played it)... at least there was some thought involved in building a pvp toon back there.
"From one of the player that was supposed to be the target of this PvP revamp" ====> back to abusing the MA^^ -
No.
I love the MA as it is, with or without farming. I dont want it to be nerfed in any way. I'm glad they nerfed comm. officers, cause that was ridiculous, but that's all. -
Wow, thanks alot ! Gonna help my Warshade IO build
-
I read somewhere you can have more than 5 times the 7.5% recharge bonus in your build, counting the bonus coming from IO sets, and the one coming from the LotG + recharge. I'm not sure anymore.
Let's take an example : I have 5 LotG + rech in my build, and I have 2 sets of Basilisks (4 slots) for 7.5% recharge. How many times will I get the 7.5% bonus : 7, or is 5 still the cap ?
Thanks in advance -
Congratulations to the dev team, who makes this game more "super" every issue ! The MA is just totally awesome !
-
I'm 100% with the OP. A minority of "voicy" people try to get nerfed what a big majority enjoy alot.
I really do hope that the MA will keep giving the normal xp, and all of its flexibility. Nerfing one of those two points would be a really bad move. -
I totally agree with the OP point.
The pre-20s end management issue is one of the thing that can make me stay away from leveling new alts, and sometime from the game.
It's not a really clever game design choice either knowing that people who try and discover the game will only see this aspect of CoX (trial accounts stop at level 14).
Some people will say : why do you want to make everything too easy ? That's a point, but I would answer I dont want things to be easy, but I'd prefer them to be smoother in the lower levels, and more challenging in the later. At the moment, paradoxically, it's the opposite.
Note that mostly tankers, scrappers and brutes are concerned by this issue, many people who play controllers or defenders think there's no problem and it's fine.
I like the idea of having improved endurance (and life) regeneration pre level 20, and I like the "no cooldown rest" either.
However I think there's an issue with Stamina and the way it works actually : the "most powerful power in the game" as some people stated, the one you cant skip (or very rarely). I'd like to see stamina slightly reduce in power (maybe cut from one third), and the natural recovery of a character improved so in the end a 3xslotted stamina character would have exactly the same recovery before the change and after (the end game wouldnt be changed). The difference would be :
- better recovery pre 20
- stamina less needed for non melee or non intensive endurance characters. It would be a choice, right now it's most of the time a "no-brainer".
- same recovery with the new stamina 3 slotted as with the old one. Nothing changes for characters already leveled and slotted. -
I was away one month or two from CoH and everything seems to have changed now. I'm sad I couldnt try this Freaks arc, because it looks like everything I hoped from the MA and could bring me right into the game (and I didnt find the Little Challenge either Ozmeth).
Well, anyway this is my question. I tried to play a bit with the MA or launched a few MA missions from other players, but the result was always the same : pretty empty maps solo (even on 4th difficulty). Nothing my Spine/Invuln can really have fun on.
What is the key to build such a mission than this Freaks orgy mentionned in the thread ? It seems the MA limits the number of mobs per spawn as it's always been. I'm a bit tired to ask for fillers to enjoy some AoE carnage and fun, to test out my builds... any tip ?
Disclaimer : I dont care about xp, i dont care about inf, i dont care about tickets or whatever, so not even talking about farming... I'm just looking for fun. If I could build such a mission I would be happy to do it and redo it even just on "test mode". -
Your video has a very good image quality, and also some relaxing music, which makes it really enjoyable to watch. I wish we could see more CoX quality vids like this one on Youtube : it would prolly attract more ppl to the game

Really a great guide, thanks for writing that =)

Very good read, thanks for writing that and congrats on your achievement

It's amazing how tough softcapping makes you, especially if you stack high HP and some resistances on top of it. It makes me think shield scrappers must be really fun to play against AVs ; too bad there's not many videos of them around... at least, not that I've seen.

The problem with shield scrappers is that softcapping costs you already alot of slotting. Then you dont have that much left for recharge/regen... etc. It's a bit different of course if you play a BS/Shield : it must be possible to find a more balanced build relying on Parry to soft cap the melee side. But Parry costs some dps. Weirdly the most promising things I've seen or heard about Shields were from Shield/SS tankers.
Invulnerability is really a great set now with i13 buffs and defense being easier to boost. It might be stronger than /SR in some situations (Scrapper solo vs Rom Nictus anyone ??)
And grats on the new AVs -
Good guide. A few missing points, like the demon farm as some already said, but nothing that cant be added
And FYI it's not the first farming guide for CoX on the net, it's not like it will get anything nerfed. Devs added the option to stop xp in i13, I really start to think they dont especially hate 'farming' -
It's funny you remember better than me what I was playing back then. I had completely forgotten about Radhina : I stopped her at level 40ish in favor of my scrappers (after having bought all her recipes for perma Hasten/AM, a classic one^^). Then instead I finished Ehina Blade my Kat/Regen : she has soloed a Pylon and completed the RWZ challenge so far, but nothing bigger. She's a very fun toon !
For the monitor thing, I must have missed it, for some reason I didnt see it while a watched some of your movies yesterday(therefore my question).
-
Hey Nihili,
I remember teaming with you (in Lynx's teams) during our leveling, I think i was on my Kat/Regen then. You really kicked [censored] back then, nice to see you in an even better shape at level 50
Btw you helped me realize that inv was "not as gimped" as I thought back then... My next toon, a Spine/Inv, can just go afk in the middle of a 8-man Battle Maiden spawn on invincible (definitely tougher than any other secondary on this precise job^^).
I'm gonna watch a few of your movies
Edit : very nice movies, you dont monitor your main stats (defense, regen... etc) ? -
One hour overpowered ? We dont have the same definition of 'overpowered'
30 mins would have been fair to me. 1 hour long but acceptable. 2 hours (in case it's not affected by the global recharge) isnt appealing anymore. -

2 hour recharge timer on the Mission Porter...sigh
If I were a costume junkie, you would have my money, but considering I'm not I was going to buy it until i seen the timer was set to 2 hours.
No thanks. But nice costumes for those who like costumes.

Exactly my reaction.
Just a slight hope left : is the mission teleporter affected by global recharge ? I think it's not, but I could be interested if it is -
Reading this guide once again. Cant leave it without saying thanks to the author. Definitely a great guide, well written, very useful both for beginners or players having already an experience in doms.
