  1. I love my snipe on my domi, but only for pulling in LGTF, thats about it. The stupidly long range on it always helps too. Other than that, I took it at lvl 49 on my original build, and didnt overly want it.

Also, no short circuit = joke
    voltaic = joke
build up? while nice to have the damage boost, power boost would be nicer. Domination is a huge damage buff as it is.

Not that suprised about the rest, they were kind of givens. But still, Lightning rod on a domi, now THAT would make me consider rolling one!

    Is it worth....?

It does increase your res and defence. Should take you up to the smash/lethal restist cap too.
  3. Some interesting responses. I personally love having different toons for different things. Ie for TFs, generally my illu/rad gets used, and only my tank if its him im doing the tf for, or the team needs a tank. My domi gets used for LGTF a lot, my stalker for speed runs ect. In terms of AV killing, he may not pack that much damage, but he can generally survive, though I'de probs want a backup tank for tanking Lord Recluse if I ever try it. While getting aggro and keeping it with him can be a problem sometimes, its gotten a lot easier since I 6 slotted taunt with a 5 of the perfect zinger set and a rch.

But still, an ice/dark tank has an appeal, but then i have a thing for dark paired with defence sets (DM/SR stalker and scrapper, bubbles/dark defender). Only thing is, at lower levels, WP for me is great and suffers very little. At high end, he is just nuts to play. Just makes me wonder if after loving my first tank, whether ide be able to give another tank, the same love.
  4. I've nearly got my WP/Mace tank to 50, and have enjoyed him quite a lot. I've enjoyed him so much, that I thought with the new tank sets coming out, a ?/dark melee tank (big fan of dark) might be in order. It will most likely be a ice/dark tank. But really, If I have a tank capeable of taking on most AVs, especially with a bit of backup, is there much point in rolling another tank, other than to just have another tank to lvl? I know some people have a few tanks, and would like to know if they use different ones for different things, or why they have more than the one tank.

and Psi damage (which all tanks fear)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Will power is great at taking psi damage, and when dark/ tanks come out, they will be even better! I felt quite safe taunting Malaise and Mother mayhem. Anti-matter however, was naaaasty.
  6. I personally love my WP/ tank. Was on a team the other day doing Maria Jenkins arc. a few of the higher lvl ppl dropped (47/48s) and we were taking on 49/50 mob. My tank was lvl 45 at the time. So I said, ok, ile see if I can handle them without a lacky, and with a minimum of support, I was able to successfully tank for the team (did no damage but meh). Ive taken tough, and will be picked up weave at 47. I have health as well as fast healing, and my regen rate gets very tasty. Add a little support to this guy and he has no problems with pretty much anything. The only AV that hurt was anti-matter with all that nasty -def (i had -64% defence at once point). I managed to take on malaise and mother mayhem without barely batting an eyelid.

Ice tanks still appeal to me though, Ice/Dark tanker may well me in the future of my toons list. defence set + dark always works nicely for me.

    Permadom numbers

I've been trying to build my ice/psi/mu domi into a perma dom and think I might have it without a overly gimped build.

At the moment I have Domination recharging in 87.4 seconds with Hasten running. Is that actually enought to achieve a perma dom? Would it just be running a bit tight?

Does anyone know the magic number for the recharge in seconds number to truely achieve a perma dom?

All help appreciated,as this all kind of baffles me.
  8. A big grats to Rose on her first 50 villain. So glad that you enjoyed your first LGTF and got to 50 as well!
  9. Eddy_B

    Slight problem

Binds are your friend in this case.

I will always remember laughing hard when I first say the infamous "Calm down dear, its only dimension shift!" bind.
  10. If your a spines scrapper, run quills. THAT is your stalker defence.
  11. Eddy_B

    yikes

The ones you really learn to hate will be night widows and fortunatas. Really hard to hold, use smoke grenades, and rip you a new one.
  12. Eddy_B

    yikes

MMs are pretty dull. Domies are (for me at least) one of the toughest and most interesting to play.

Remember the Domi Maxim - Aggro like a tanker/Die like a blaster
  13. Once you get PSW and find yourself locking a mob down, then charging in, the playstyle of any /psi change dramaticaly. Its probably once you hit 38 that you will change your attack chain. Untill then, staying at range is never a bad idea. When you get PSW, it recharges so fast, especially wit set bonuses and Hasten up, that MP and subdue become about all you use along with it apart from your controlls.
  14. While the extra damage of fire may seem like a nice bonus, and it is, when soloing, you tend to face less targets and so primaries like Ice and Sonic start to shine.

Raw damage output is great, but when things go pear shaped, a secondary effect like slows or -res become a much greater asset.

Fire is purely offensive, Ice has a very nice ST offensive chain, and some very nice secondary effects to go with it.

The eternal stuggle between offence and defence.

Also, Ice/Rad is generally considered the solo king of Cors.
  15. /psi is not the one to go for if you want to stay at range, a fire/psi is all about being in the middle of a large mob and wiping them all out. Though when youve locked a mob down, being in middle of them aint much of a problem.

Just remember, that domies get melee and ranged attacks, and some of the higher damage powers are melee.

For soloing, a mind/fire or mind/ice would do nicely (ice being weaker on the aoe damage, but it has powerboost )
Everyone is your pet once you get confuse, and the control is very nice too. And on teams, everyone will thank you for the nice aoe control you can lay down.
  16. There is no such thing as overkill in this game

Looks like in your build, Mental Blast has a place, just doesnt really in mine at the moment, but its your toon, play it how you want.

Your comments about stamina were interesting, might look into that myself. DS + Powersink + Happy Button should be enough stam, but I think ile test it out on my domi first, as I run a few toggles, and Arctic Air now adds to my aoe damage (damage procs ftw!).
  17. I took mental blast and psy scream on my domi before i hit 38. Then after that, I specced them both out. Mind Probe and Subdue are all the space you need inbetween PSW really. Mind probe is a great attack, and as your most likely to be in melee range to use PSW, its great to have. Subdue helps with the runners and is a nice attack too. When you have hasten and some +rch bonuses, PSW comes back up at an insanely fast rate for the damage it does.

So MB is worth taking for the pre PSW lvls, but after that, well unless you dont plan on taking PSW, (and if you dont, why did you bother making a /psi domi?) its just not needed unless you exemp an awful lot or want extra fire power vs Hami in the LGTF.
  18. Well we did it and thanks to all the teams that turned up! I think we had about 4 going on. It took two (game days to do it, but when the call went up (the caller quickly dying) the teams piled in and Caleb went down in seconds, never seen a GM go down so fast!

    Grats to all.
  19. I quite like my will power tank. Not amazing resists or defences, but a mix of the two, nice regen rates on hp and end, no real need to take stam unless you want to take health as extra regen, and low end usage. He is still only lvl 24 atm, but slotted with SOs, hes becoming really fun. Will be interested to see how he fairs vs hard hitting AVs though. Have taken tough and will take weave soon to help him with his restists/defences.

What have people slotted their RttC with? Mine at the moment has 3 heal and 1 endrdx, it worth slotting with anything else?
  20. Any ideas yet as to when this is coming on live? Cant wait to do some serious damage in the LRSF.

Some folks in the US have crunched the numbers... See here

    [/ QUOTE ]

If they weren't playing this I swear they'll be trainspotting.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe they take laptops to the trainstation with wifi cards and play there while waiting for the trains?

"Sorry afk one sec, train incoming!"
    "Train?!" - Rest of team

  22. Well I did the LRSF on my stalker last night with his new PvE build, and really enjoyed it. I had my uses in terms of ghosting, and managed to finish off the Orastes Rifle mish by jumping into the last room, full of spawned bots when the AV was down, get the rifle and not get hit, while the rest of the team had been killed. Did similar things a few times too, speeding up the SF considerably.

When a buff to Hero/AV killing comes in, especially when I can get off a proper AS, goes live, that will make me really enjoy playing him on SFs, and feel even more usefull.
  23. A big congrats to all for completing the LRSF again with an all handprints team. Made that my 3rd successful run out of 3.

Lots going on with the handies at the moment, so people should be on the look out for us in our green and gold cozzies!
  24. Aye, Praf is on the right track. I don't think it should be possible for a stalker to solo an AV, at least not without tons of insps, temp powers, accolades and IO set bonuses up the wazoo.

I've just respecced my stalker to do the LRSF regularly. He might not be always the best damage dealer, but he will have his uses, and when this comes in, the ability to score a massive crit hit on a Hero would just be awesome.

Will certainly make me feel less of a spare part on the team, and more like a specialist tool. Something that isnt always that usefull on its own, but for certain jobs, it does nicely.
  25. As Praf said, a farming team with that amount of AoE will overshadow anything else. But in a PuG, how often does the perfect AoE team get together? Kinda like putting Delta Commandos vs a platoon. In a farming team (and if it isnt a farm team, then well, what is?) You have all chosen to specialise in AoEs, most toons are not this specialised, and generally a more rag tag bunch when in a team.

I also don't see a "We really need a stalker on this team" shout going out, but vill side, apart from a "we need a brute" (usually one is enough) shout, the rest of the team might as well just be Corrs. Don't often get shouts for MMs or Domies either. But then, why would anyone want to roll a toon that isnt a brute or a corruptor? Just sounds silly to me choosing something that isn't UBER-1337 teh smex like Corruptors. /em sarcasm off

What this means for stalkers is that people wont have quite as much reason to ignore them in the search list, as they often do. But then at the end of the day, who you pick for your team is up to you. But then I prefer to play the game cos of the lvling up with people, my sg, or the content. So if a mate has a stalker they want to play, why shouldnt they. I leave farming to those who only care about being great at all costs. I'de rather be average and have fun.
