If you can afford them, you can have a grand total of 5 in your build, and they are independent set bonuses that give you 7.5% bonus rch (Sting of the Manticore/Basilisks etc). So it's possible to have 5 lotg +rch, and 5 (if you can find space for them) 7.5% rch bonuses.
Certainly makes achieving perma-whatever you want much easier. -
Basilisks gaze are insanely rare and expensive, pretty much only gettable with merits if you want them at 30.
The purple pet set is very cheap hero side, and gives a better recharge to the pets than expedient reinforcements, even with the bonus to the recharge, which unless you need the recharge purely for perma-hasten, is something to think about.
Getting Perma-hasten is great (my domi has it) But in reality, getting close to it is just as good. Its about 105% global without hasten being up. -
200 merits gets you an any lvl luck of the gambler +rch, find what lvl will earn you the most cash, and sell that. Pretty much guaranteed about 90 mil from that. It's not as exciting as doin lots of random rolls, and who knows you might drop a lotg from the randoms. But as has been said, there is also every chance that you get absolutely nothing.
So really the question is, do you feel lucky, huh do yah punk? -
Well after the fun last night, I learnt that the first death was Fairy Wings, the second was bright colours, but what was that Brute up to when he hit 9 deaths? :P
Oddly enough, my Domi had a cossie ready for this occasion...what? Stop looking at me like that! -
Standard holds are 2, enough to hold a lt in one hit. Domination is Mag 4 (2x2) and is enough to hold a Boss in one hit, as I think they have mag 3 hold resistance. An EB has Mag 8, and takes 4 normal holds to overpower it (I think)
-
So long as the changes don't mess up perma-doms too much, then people will be fine. Personally, if they made a toon i've spent a massive amount of inf and time on worthless, i'de probs be looking for another game.
One thing I do have about buffing doms though, is that i LIKE the fact they are hard to get into and play. It takes a certain type of player to play them well and get the most out of them, and I'm quite happy with having an AT that doesn't appeal to all cos its and easy farming toon.
That said, they do need buffing so that being perma isn't the only way to make Domies good. -
Just ignore Princess Darkstar. He is just annoyed that my Perma-Domi can out perform his uber-build Warshade.
Personally I'de say change the damage modifiers on Domi attacks to be better all around, or make domination a sort of mini fury. Get to a full domi bar and you get at your most twisted, and therefore able to hold bosses and do way more damage. Therefore perma-doms remain unchanged, and normal domies still get a building damage buff and do more damage. A much better idea. -
3 Vill respecs lets you buy an amazing 1 and a half respec rewards! WOW!
Supoosedly the toughest challenge for Vills in the game (cept Hami) gives less rewards than the laughably easy with a vaguely decent team ITF! YAY!
No sigle Villain SF giving you enough rewards for 2 random rolls! Yipee!
The incredible shortage of villain SFs meanining vills are even more dumped on! WOOT!
Villains being punished for being very good at the limited amout of thigs the Devs have given them to do in comparison to the massive amount of stuff heroes have never bothered to try let alone get good at. WOOP DE DOO!
/em sarcasm off
I knew changes were comin, I just din't realise that the Devs hated the villain community this much.
The LRSF thing is a total joke, and posi even said he would look at it cos it's supposed to be 'harder' going against everything they have tried to do so far of basing the numbers solely on how quickly teams do things.
What moron overlooked the fact that vills have so much less to do compared to villains that its no wonder they do it faster. Basing the merits on time spent was stupid and lazy at best, applying the same formula to villains as heroes just screams of incredible lazyness and or just plain total lack of care for the villain community and total disregard for the villain market system which has been horrendous since it was introduced.
Devs - Give villains more SFs NOW! This is no longer going to be a request, but a simple demand. And no, don't just fob us off with more 'co-op' TFs.
Also, sort out the massive disparity between Heroes and Villains in terms of rewards given for difficulty, and the you might just gain a smidgeon of faith back from the Villain community you seem to intent on alienating.
/rant mode off. -
See the guide in my sig, it needs updating but it's still pretty relevant, and the recent stalker changes have just made stalkers better at scrapping.
-
According to my Mids, my melee and ranged defence is 46.3% def and my aoe is 47.6% def. You do have to correct Mids to make Phalanx fighting give you correct numbers when no mobs are around. but its a permanent deff buff when no one is around of about 3.75 (i think). 45% is the soft cap of defence, so its well into that without any outside help.
As for Active defence, with all the sets in it would have a recharge of 97.6 seconds, quite a way below the 120 sec recharge time. -
Well my toon is 42ish now and I've been loving playing him and fully intend to spec him out. Below is a dream build, but apart from the lotg+rch and the purples, I'm not actually that far of collecting all the rest of the build for him when he hits 47.
So any comments and suggestions on the build please. I will likely rarely solo with him much at 50, as I will mostly use him for SFs and co op content. Still not sure whether I can be bothered with Darkest Night, I might find a slot or two and put in aid self in there too.
So any comments about the build please and and suggested improvements would be welcome.

Merits seem to do different things for different people. Most people I know just do random rolls and have gotten some very nice stuff out of it. However, if you get something nice, chances are you can use it, so people tend to keep them rather than sell them. But many people do seem to be doing this, random rolling and hoping. After doing a Posi run, you can make a few rolls and people are doing quite well, at least the ones I know.
Me personally, I have my Shield brute that I've been IOing up. Some of the stuff I wanted for him was just totally not available on the BM, so I had to grind the merits to buy them that way. Because of this I have on him a lvl 20 miracle, a lvl 21 chance for +end, and a lvl 30 Numinas unique. I'le probs end up grinding more merits to get him the lotg +rch i want for him as the 90 mill they cost vill side is just silly.
There does seem to be a lack of purples and I think this is due to breaking the knives arc. 9 merits for what most ppl do in 20-30 mins, but cos its 40-45, no purple drops. When that arc gets nerfed to 4 merits in the next patch, I can see people picking other arcs, and hopefully lvl 50 ones, so the purple rate will go back up. But most people it seems are farming flashback arcs for merits, as that tends to be more profitable than just straight farming mishs. -
Vills lack a 10-15, 30-35 and 40-45 SF and to me these are pretty huge holes, esp the later two. 30-35 is a horrible grind sometimes, and 40-45 now only has ITF to suffer the lag on for vills. Less people play vills is the reasoning behind us not getting new SFs, but I think the Devs have grossly missed the point in that less people play vills because people rightly believe there is less in the way of content red side. It's perfectly possible to lvl a toon from 10-50 purely on TFs hero side, and that is totally impossible villain side.
I think it realy is time the devs sorted this out. It's bad enough we get no hazard zones, sewer equivalent, but to me this big hole has always just been insulting to the villain population. -
That was very very impressive. Soooo many nukes raining down and seeing that many Shivs and other pets was just insane.
Just goes to show what can be achieved with good coordination and preparation! -
Yep it was an awesome run that. Never thought I'de see the day my Domi would get to display that badge!

Any levelling builds anyone can offer?
-
I love the new MoG, it actually feels like a power that fits its name. It's a moment. It's enough to get you out of a tight bind, or to take the alpha, and then you are back to your usual regenning self.
So few people took the old one that it caused the Devs to relook at it. I'de love a longer timer on it, but quite like it how it is.
As for the NPCs that still have it, it would be oh so fun if Valk hit it, it would save having to stand there for 3 mins while she tried to chopo ppls heads off. -
I've been looking in Mid's at a SS/Shield brute, and while it looks tasty in terms of damage, I really have no idea how to build it. What powers are skippable? Is it worth getting tough/weave and aidself? Will I have to have Hasten?
If anyone could help me out with some advice I'de much appreciate it, the concept I have for the toon is great, and I don't want to waste him.
Any general levelling builds would also be appreciated. I am prepared to sink some inf into this toon with things like the steadfast unique, but will only really consider fully IOing him out when he hits 50.
All advice and help much appreciated! -
I find myself with a slot I could move around, and am thinking about possibly putting the Chance for BU proc in Jack Frost.
Does anyone know if this is worth it? How often it will fire off? I've heard it is with each attack he uses he gets a chance to BU, anyone confirm this?
Anyone actually got this slotted that can tell me if it's worth it? -
Psi Assault is notorious for sucky damage till you get Psi Shock Wave. Then when you get the best Dominator attack in the game slotted up, it becomes an aoe powerhouse that makes other domies cry.
It's been said before that anything /psi is 32 levels of suck followed by 18 levels of awesome, unless of course you are a mind/ and then its 38 levels of suck before it gets awesome.
Domies imo are meant for the high level game where they begin to really come into their own, and if you decide to go the perma-dom route, then you will really begin to see just how crazy fun Domies are -
I've had my ice/psi domi for a very long time and have spent more on him than I care to think about, and no I don't join farm teams constantly. He has gone though multiple incarnations of perma-dom, adding to it every time. When I hit perma-hasten I started adding to his surviveability and damage. He is used purely for PvE, but I do wander into Warburg and Sirens to get nukes and shivs.
Now however, I am faced with the dilemma of changing from Mu Mastery to Soul Mastery and picking up the very silly Soul Drain Power (putting myself at or near the damage cap is oh so attractive). Is the added damage of my Mu Guardian along with his healing abilities worth less than even bigger damage numbers. It seems so.
Below is my current build for him. And no, I don't want to even think about how much he is worth. He is slotted for damage mostly, my ST hold I use as a second blast as wel as a hold. I know I could easily squeeze more recharge out of the build, but past perma-hasten, I'm not overly bothered about it tbh, esp when I can get better surviveability.

The only reason that Jack Frost has the purple pet set in him is for the bonuses, and the extra rch from expedient reinforcements gives me about a 0.5 bonus to rch on my powers (and I'm still perma-hasten). I'm still unsure if the purple pet set boosts the pets attack rate or not (It seems to on my Mu Guardian).
Also, does any one know how often the chance for BU proc fires for the pet? I'de be prepared to move a slot from SS if I thought it would boost Jack's damage out put a great deal.
So any comments and suggestions on my current build or potential new build? Consider it a money is no object build as I have no other vills I spend any inf on and he is pretty much my main toon anyways. -
Yep, we tested the new LGTF and I can confirm it's been fixed to 45+, so vills have even less to do! Oh wait, that's a bad thing...
See here -
For me it will all depend on how you can switch between them. If you can switch at will, then there will be lots of fun things you could do. If you have to visit a trainer, and pay to switch (something I can see being likely) then I might use it for one or two toons that randomly get used for PvP.
If its easy to change, then I'de probs have builds for soloing and teaming, or a build for use in low level TFs and one for higher level TFs. -
Glacier is one of my fave powers in the game and has a fantastic sound effect to go with it. Put then as others, I've spent silly amount of my Domi, and his aoe hold has a purple set in it, and is up about every other mob. Nothing quite like beating a brute to the mob, hitting glacier and then telling the Brute to find his own mob
They are not that great at the lower levels, and are very situational, but then, is any domi good at low levels?
Take it and use it as you need it, not just cos it's up.
