I just wanted to add a personal note to the discussion about players who leave/come back and the effect on subscription numbers.
I have played CoH since beta, I'm a huge comic book nerd and video game freak but I also have lots of health problems. I occasionaly have to take time off because of time spent in hospitals or just feeling too lousy to spend much time in front of the computer. There have been times I had to let go of my subscription for months at a time. Not because of problems with the game itself.
Not trying to start a pity party here... but just thought it should be pointed out that people leaving the game for good, or even for short periods of time doesn't always mean they hate the game, or hate the changes made. In fact on of my personal long stretches came about just before capes were added. I hated missing out on that , even if only for a couple of months.
Changes in numbers could come from many different factors. New games people want to try... begining of school...etc
Just saying that there are always going to be lots of different factors involved in any changes that happen.
