  2. Much as I've argued that bringing this policy back wasn't needed, at all, to get free names, I have no problem with this version of it.

    Because honestly, any character below level six on an account inactive for 90days or more is probably not cared about much by the owner in the majority of cases.

    Awesome, I was thinking recently that the wallpaper section needed an update. Since the last one was around I2 on the CoH Side I think.

    An idea though, whip these up before the issue launches as promotional materials and distribute them to the news sites.

    Some of us have been asking for Level 35+ Content, Co-Op Content, and what appears to be a revamped Rikti Crash Site for a long time.

    Or are you using "we" in the royal sense?

    This. This is why no one takes anything you're saying in this thread seriously. The insane rants about something you may not even have tested causing crashes, or lag, or that it only benefits a small minority of the game. The description of past updates with content for every level range of the game as if they were only catering to one level range. The laughable assertion that only 5% of the playerbase has gotten mileage out of the last few updates.

    Yes, its level limited content. For a content range that both CoV and CoH have needed new content for for a long time. This is a good thing. CoH has more sub 35 content than it knows what to do with. CoV could arguably need more, but CoH sure as hell doesn't it. You've got all the regular story arcs to do, plus Faultline, Striga and Croatoa.

Wow, that sure helps out the majority of players with low level toons. I am seriously starting to dislike this game. And yes, there is an option other than "Shut up or leave." I don't have to be a sheep and just love everything the devs say. I ask: Is there even 1 thing that a toon under lvl 35 can do? Because the way I see it, you can't even enter the new zones unless you're at lvl 35+.

    If you think people with high level characters are a minority, you're out of your mind.The game has been out for a long time.

    The new content starts at level 35. Thats not high level.And there are new costume pieces, as the update mentions.

    Sounds like you should quit. They're targetting the level range that people have been requesting content for for years. There's also been new content for just about every level range in at least one of the previous issues, so, do you not actually have any characters or what?

Hope springs eternal and I, for one, am stoked- this will be the most significant issue for Villains since the mixed blessing that was i7.

    Although Shiva, Devouring Earth, and Coralax would all make sense in this zone (maybe even a Coralax contact- Barracuda's Strike Force, anyone?) simply because all three of those factions have their own plans for the earth.
    Also, I hope the Circle of Thorns plays a role- according to the offical bio, they formed the impromptu fifth column against the initial Rikti invasion. Whatever the "dark secret" that the teaser hints at, I bet you dollars to doughnuts in involves them.

    Generally, the first teaser highlights all major features. All following teasers will focus on the major features. Such as a teaser about the new zone, another teaser about the TF, and a 3rd one about the new invention stuff. And that will be it.

    Thats exactly how its done. Anyone expecting there to be a surprise announcement of new powersets or ATs for I10 now is deluding themselves.

    I think its pretty much a given that this is a revamped Rikti Crash Site. Its the only place in the game with a crashed mothership in it.

    Oh, and we're finally getting those pilons that shoot energy up into the air in there explained I guess. Thats cool.

    I recall them moving around a bit in the sky, which created a lot of anticipation about when they'd come down and disgorge their hordes of Rikti, Hydra and Krakens.

    Edit: I should see if I can find the old End of Beta video around on the web somewhere. It was fifteen minutes or so of pure awesome.

    Surely NCSoft's Billing/Accounting people could tell you how many people are registering multiple accounts, assuming they're using their real names, or paying with the same credit card, for example.

    Last count from NCSoft's report to stockholders was 143,127 subscribers North America+Euro combined. Of those, I would imagine 5-10% at most have multiple accounts just as a guess.

    Its been a failure for long time. Statesman more or less admitted as much quite some time ago.

    Of course, that admission hasn't been followed by the delivery of a working version of the CoP in the intervening months, so its lost a lot of its luster.

    They tested the double XP event on the test server at least once, but I don't recall if it stayed on test when double XP was live.

    Why cant we have at least 1 month notice when this happens?
    It´s cool for those taht has a easy time of rotating their duties or has none. But for some of us planning takes a little more than 2 weeks.

    The first DB. XP weeknd I had to visit relatives abroad, and was unable to change it.
    The second time, I had double shift saterday and sunday.
    And this time I have double shift saterday and sunday as well.

    Some of us has real lives and real jobs and simply cant change it on a whim.

    As a Prison guard my work schedule is planned a month in advance, and simply cant be changed with such a short notice.



    Sorry to come off all EMO and sour but it´s damn annoying to be left with the feeling that the double XP weekends is only being catered to those in school and people who can change their schedule with a moments (as 2 weeks is in real life time) notice.

    Two weeks is plenty of notice for an in-game event. Its unfortunate for you that it doesn't work out with your work schedule, but for the vast majority of people, two weeks is more than enough notice.

    There was probably a thread on this I missed because of weak search-fu, but whatever happened to distributing the 'new powerset for every AT' that was once advertised for the since-cancelled new box edition, among Issues 9-12?

    If I9 and I10 come out with no powersets, and the devs are only considering new sets for at most 4 ATs in I11 or I12, what happened to the rest?

    Not to bash this efforts, scrappers and tankers need the love first, but is there a long term plan for the rest?

    We did plan out Power Sets for the retail box, but we've gone the route of free updates instead (woohoo!). Yep, we had some planned...and we thought about just putting those into updates as schedule permitted...

    but then we thought it'd be cool if we polled the players what they wanted first. Not all of these power sets are of equal difficulty - some are tougher than others - but they are all possible. I can't promise exactly when it'll get in, but please know that we've heard loudly and clearly that players want new power sets.

    BTW...Ball and Chain was my little addition last minute. It would be just be SO cool!
