I'm really not sure I can follow the last few steps of the timeline, but that's likely me missing vital information.
And yes almost everything in that contradicts from a linear timeline point of view, but all possible from a multi-looped timeline point of view.
Romulus would have been a Nictus before Requiem and Arakhn ever set foot on earth, transformed by a future version of Requiem who was turned into a nictus by an order from Arakhn who did not exist yet in her current state in the game by Romulus who is from 1600 years in the past...

Imperious is sent to turn Requiem into a nictus by Arakhn from the future.

Requiem goes back in time.
Arakhn goes back in time.
Or something like that... of course i haven't really explored their history yet, but that's what i think from what little i know. -
CoT lore in my opinion is not contradictory so much as it is badly written and/or convoluted purposely cuz it is supposed to be lost to history for the most part.
As far as the CoT existing as spirits that are inhabitting the descendants of Mu... that is wrong. The CoT are originally Oranbegans who gave up their physical body to escape the wrath of demons. Those with the ability to use magic without being taught are descendant of Mu, because it has become ingrained in them. Any human can use magic at varying strengths. Baron Zoria summoned the Oranbega Circle of Thorns (their leaders) who entered a contract with him of some sort and gave their leaders "thorns" that imbued them with magic powers, beyond apparently what they had already, if they had any.
So theoretically Baron Zoria and a number of the first CoT are descendants of Mu and have not been posessed... however, all or most regular Circle of Thorns are possessed and could possibly be, but more than likely not, descendants of Mu. This does not preclude them from using magic, because magic is taught and the Oranbegans know how it works/how to do it, from the ground up so they don't need to have Mu descendants.
As far as the Oranbegan's knowing "where" Oranbega is... that is not true. The world has changed in 14,000 years and even if t hasn't most of the oranbegans still around were born and raised in Oranbega so they'd have very little clue where it was, but could give clues to it. they also sealed Oranbega during the conflict with Mu so...it was sealed both physically and magically apparently...
The dating thing... I would say that that is due to artistic flair... and or not having the dates written down so it's unintentional and with the dates it's meant to be 1932, instead of 1933 imo. -
I found one i think...my problem was that i was looking for 5.1 instead of 7.1 external card... 7.1 is easy to find.

yah this has not to do with the game...just my audio system...
I need a video card that has toslink in and can connect to the logitech x-540 5.1 surround sound system that doesn't have toslink in.
I'm also wondering if it would be a good idea, if possible plug the speakers directly into the card if possible so as to get the best sound and not have to go out with a audio jack to the... what they call subwoofer that doesn't seem to work. -
So I tried a few things...
ran a lvl 30 char on a dif server = same problem.
ran a lvl 1 char on test server (ie dif client) and had no problems.

granted still have probs with relatively low FPS due to settings now, but other than that seems it's something in the client...
that being the case...think doing a quick install will be a problem? Or should I do a complete fresh install and sit through 8 hours of DLing... -
and the question remains... why would you go OEM? it seems stupid if you upgrade parts anywhere near often...
OEM of the version I want is $150, retail is $300... and that would make getting it easier, but the untransferability seems... quite a bit restrictive to me since i don't know really what i can change or not without problems. -

If you're talking about updates: They're almost always free. Especially Operating System Updates.
If you're referring to upgrading the OS in a new computer... what the heck? Why not just transfer your hard drive to the new tower, rather than buying an OS? Or you could take your old computer in and the new computer and let the Geek Squad or your local tech-store transfer the data over. Tons of solutions (some more cost effective than others!). Either way you generally upgrade once and you're good for 5-6 years of OS goodness.
So yeah. Really don't understand which you're referring to.

OEMs are linked to the Mobo and other hardware. So If I get get a new mobo(like I'm planning on) I've wasted my money if I get an OEM... unless there is something I don't know. -

By my (possibly faulty) memory, Marcus and Stefan left Paragon City around 1917. Marcus returned in the early 1930s. I would say that means he was probably around 32 when he got his powers ... and Monica was 8 years younger which would place her at about 24.
According to Web of Arachnos Marcus wrote Monica letters all the time he was away from Paragon City ... a grown man of 18+ plus writing letters to a 10 year old girl for 12 years is a bit on the weird side, I must admit ....
But back then, Statesman wasn't nearly as famous as he would become later. And he was still within the span of a mortal lifetime.
And Monica really wasn't all that normal either ...
Stefan and Marcus signed up for the military in 1918...that would make them 22 and 25...and Marcus obviously was raised more or less by the Richters from an early age. that being the case Monica was probably 12-14 when he left at minimum. and 24-26 when Cole came back... Stefan never came back. -
I haven't seen anything that contradicts with Requiem and ITF. What you might be talking about is what I'm presuming is a closed loop circle thing...
Requiem goes back in time and makes Imperious into a nictus who either just lives a really long time or jumps forward in time and recruits Requiem into being a nictus who goes back in time... -

for new gfx card need a good card between $100-200 with a gig of RAM... can't really figure out whats the best in that range, but seems the that that wouldn't give a significant upgrade to the 8800GS as it seems the 9800 GTX which is supposedly just slightly better is slightly worse than the card i could find in that price range. The rest of the parts I can canobalize from my current PC if needed...
edit: ^.^ seems i can get a 5770 within my price range >.> though is that a worthwhile upgrade to get right now? Is the occlusion thing due to the card or there being a problem with the code?
that seems like a nice build for $6-700 not counting RAM that I'll buy over time... A nice 17GB RAM system would be awesome ^.^ -

No. The Geforce 200 Series at their available price-points cannot hold a candle to the performance or price of the Radeon 4000 series cards, much less the Radeon 5000 series cards.
The Geforce 400 series at their available price-points can match the high end RadeonHD 5800 series for performance... they just can't do it for price, power consumption, or heat output.
If you want to run Ultra Mode at 1920*1200 with all Ultra-Mode settings (sans Ambient Occlusion) maxed, the RadeonHD 5770 is your starting point at what you want to buy.
I don't see myself getting a higher res screen but I dunno. I just need max on 1400x900... also why sans occlusion, not that it matters, cuz i don't see much difference between having it on and max settings. -
Call Me, none of those are the problem. I started having problem when i17 launched and it got worse when I turned down graphics. Nothing else gives me problems. It is specifically the CoH client and it specifically started happening with i17.
but i do need to defrag my PC HDDs...just got to find a time to do it. And I'd rather not have to reinstall CoH unless I have to... it's like a 4-8 hour process...

ok so I've gotten rather annoyed and tried to turn off everything and then slowly bring it back up... and that has failed.
My settings are bottomed out and I am experiencing the following...
Every 5-30 mins my computer/client will completely lock up and stay there...and the one time I let it go for long crashed my system.
If I tab out and in, as soon as the CPU drops a little (from what i can tell) the game will then unfreeze.
Leaving it alone will however result in a jump to the current point that the animation should be in and remain frozen. These are jumps every 1-2 minutes. and again eventually results in a system crash.
I've checked my PC, lowered my settings, etc. The Game is eating 70-100% of my CPU and depending on where I am running between 60 and 250 FPS. I've had the game lock up when the FPS was well over 100.
I'm running
1400x900 full screen res
E4600 2.4 GHz Intel core 2 duo
GeForce 8800 GS with 384MB RAM
4GB RAM (in the machine)
and running on Windows XP (32-bit... I forget if there is a 64-bit ver)
I'm looking to upgrade my PC...
I plan on getting win7 professional 64-bit I haven't decided on making a whole new PC yet, but I would find it extremely useful to have a guide for a creating a PC for ultra mode, medium and max settings...
and...should I get a Geforce 200, or 400? is the 200 worth it? -
Ok here's something... A contradiction in the information.
Circle of Thorns page says all this happens in 1933 in this order...
Dream Doctor Debuts.
The Circle starts kidnapping children.
Dream Doctor figures out what is happening and stops the sacrifice of those children on their anniversary.
Dream Doctor then forms the Midnight Squad.
Here's the problem
The CoT's anniversary is on December 21.
The Midnight Squad forms on January 9, 1933.
So... this string of events indicates that the events take place in late 1932 with the Midnight Squad forming and them chasing the CoT happening in 1933.
What do you think?
This also leads into another contradiction... did the Circle find Oranbega, find blocked off entrances to Oranbega, or just claim they did? The Rikti finds it in 2002, and the site says allegedly which seems to mean that they just claimed they did but didn't
And of course... was Zoria actually Rasputin's apprentice or not? It, again, says it's rumor in the paragon times article and if you look at the timeline, they would either be contemporaries or Zoria would have to be the mentor if they met.
Lastly... the Knights of Malta, when did they form? According to the game, from the text given with the date, it is implied that the knights of Malta separated before the Templars were made heretics, hunted down and killed, and became a secret society... That happens in the 1300s, but the game says 1600s...
So what are your thoughts on these 4 lore contradictions...
PS. I hate the Circle of Thorns...I can foresee there being more contradictions in the lore around them. -
i don't get a chance to play TFs often and I'd go nuts if someone insisted on such nonsense. I'd go in and die immediately till they kicked me or got it through their head it's supposed to be a fun game

Well if you've been banned from the game... you're account is not in good standing.
If you you've not been banned, but stopped paying you are not in good standing in one sense but are in that you haven't been banned from the game.
It's a matter of being on one of 3 lists. "banned" "inactive" "active". If you are talking abotu active, the two left ones are not in good standing, but is your talking about in terms of allowed to still play the two on the right are in good standing. -
