I would love it if they rebooted the entire series from the beginning with a more adult feel to it, cutting the fluff eps out. Something closer to the first movie's style, but with better CG and such.
-
My power was off for most of it so....
-
So since I got Netflix I've been able to watch a number of the older eps...
The Aztecs
The Tomb of the Cybermen
The Wheel in Space
The Mind Robber
Spearhead from Space
The Three Doctors
Carnival of Monsters
The Green Death
The Ark in Space
Pyramids of Mars
The Robots of Death
so far... but that's like half the list... and for the most part they're meh and not very interesting to me...
Is this because of these just being the bad eps or are these the better eps and I just don't like them...btw I do like the first Dalek ep series.
Here's the rest of the eps I have left to watch
The Talons of Weng-Chiang
Horror of Fang Rock
The Ribos Operation
The Pirate Planet
The Stones of Blood
The Androids of Tara
The Power of Kroll
The Armageddon Factor
The City of Death
The Leisure Hive
The Visitation
Earthshock
The Caves of Androzani
Vengeance of Varos
Ghost Light
The Curse of the Fenric -
Disney was canceling the series all together... they were for a moment thinking of doing an animated series and then decided against it and so it was at that point completely canceled.
-
depends what kind of who... a company, or a person, or a group... different for each ^.^

1 word, 3 syllables, starts with an i, and ends with a c. Take a guess, not many words fit.

Quote:I said "in the top", not "the top". This is important because I wouldn't say it has better customization the more modern titles that are in that category, but if the titles I have played that are also in the top CoH is better laid out, even if it's not the best overall.I agree with most of your points, but these two are just not true. It's like you're looking through rose tinted glasses at CoH.
Yes, CoH is a very high quality product, but it's showing its age. Heavily.
You may not like the artistic design of CO, but it has more diverse options to go with. I'll be the first to say that I don't play CO at all regularly, I don't find it quite that fun in recent time, but the fact's still true that it has more options over CoH. Even that new APB game has customization that far outmatches CoH or CO.
And, honestly, better graphics than any other MMO? Even with ultra mode, those are some rosey glasses...
Graphically it's not better than a lot of games, but we're talking MMOs. About the only thing we have to measure against is APB, CO, STO, DCUO, FFXIV, SW:tOR, FFXI, and a few others. And most of them we can toss out as not superior but might be equal (if that) but with worse style...and those that we would say are graphically superior a number of those use tricks rather than actually being better. Like in FFXIV they use a static texture for water and because you never get close enough to it you probably won't notice. And the few that are actually better I have near 0 interest in beyond, "hey that's cool!" -
I was saying nothing of you I was referring to the pervy nature of tentacle monster next to a girl and them loving each other...

Quote:What are you talking about?Like I said, just a theory, and PG13 isn't R. Beating a *child* to death (in the first 5 mins) would have pushed the rating up, imo. Or, they simply weren't comfortable with showing that...also aging him up fit into the Red Hood storyline, with out having an unexplained gap in time for dead kid Jason to turn in to resurrected adult Jason.
Also, even when done by the same company, movie continuity != comic continuity
Jason was 14 when he became Robin, 16 when he died.
This would have placed him at the age of 21 when he returned, Dick 25, Tim 17, and Bruce 40ish.
This is the same in both the comic and movie.
There is no need for the change and it's a detriment to his story as well as future stories so they're just shooting themself in the foot with it. -
I bet CO and DCUO devs likely have accounts for CoH and each other to keep an eye on each other. CO has already employed pretty messed up marketing in the past so it's likely that if there is that type of marketing mentioned... it would be from them.
As far as the devs doing it right...
Communicating with your customers, getting feedback, and using it to make the game better. Bad? suuuuure
Look, go play any other MMO out there you won't find a more quality product.
Nothing is up to par with QoL stuff
Customization, CoH is still in the top
Graphic wise, the game looks better than just about any other MMO and does so authentically and not using some crappy trick.
Oh and not to mention that graphic quality, customization, and QoL stuff all has Lore, a great community... Oh, and runs on a rig that won't cost you a fortune and has a very low buy in for the software.
Realistically this is one of the best products out there and considering that MMO devs are under constant pressure... yeah it's likely one of the best dev teams out there. -
Quote:There are a number of other variations that are acceptable and it's an adult themed movie. They don't need to make Jason older than he was. That's a cop out.The reason *I think* they did that (change the suit) is that they didn't want to show Joker beating a child mostly to death. That means they needed to age up Jason a bit, and the classic Robin outfit looks *really really* creepy on someone that's pretty much a grown man. So, change the outfit to something not creepy, yet instantly identifiable as Robin.
-
i gotta say...it wasn't as good as i had hoped it would be...and it's mainly due to the "set up" parts of the movie... maybe it was retconned in the arc in the comics but it really annoys me that Jason loses the nobility factor that even when he was near death, without the bomb, he still tried to save his mother from the bomb when he died.
Jokers voice is meh. It hints at being inspired more by Ceasar Romero's version than the other's, but it was overall too gruff.
One of the things that really annoyed me, and may this is just my pet peeve, but they once again put a pre-Tim Drake Robin in the red/yellow/black costume and this time I feel it is worse because a number of people who saw the previews thought "yay Tim's gonna be in this" and they show Jason in the old costume...oh and not to mention the upgrading of the suit between these two variations was because of this event so it doesn't make sense to have Jason wearing it...
other than that i think it's a pretty good movie with a few good jokes, mainly that came from Dick and Jason. -
Quote:I'm not messing with the card because if it's the card it doesn't matter.I'd recommend uninstalling your current nvidia drivers, rebooting into safe mode, running Driver Sweeper (or a similar utility) to erase the left over bits of the nvidia drivers, then shut down. Now, with the computer off, take the video card out, and carefully clean the fan with a qtip or something similar, then reseat the card in the computer, carefully making sure it's seated properly. Then you can go ahead and boot it up, install the current driver, and then see how it goes from there.
Your issue is related to a driver/hardware error. If it's on the software side, then it's possible to fix, if it's on the hardware side, it's only possible to fix it with a replacement.
I did completely remove the drivers and reinstall them... still got the problem. -
Ironblade... you added another number but couldn't fix The to This...booo

Also a new set of numbers from blue screen
stop: 0x000000EA (0x89F93DA8, 0x899065E8, 0xB84EFCBC, 0x00000001)
Rest of blue screen said the same thing as i said originally. -
I'm sure there is...
Working on getting it all together ... *looks at sig* -
Quote:It's happening because some interaction with the nvidia display driver. The problem with this logic is that it is also NOT happening to many other people running the game. If it were strictly a programming issue, it would happen to most or all other people running the game.
If you would like assistance in alleviating the problem you are encountering, it would be very helpful to see the reports requested by Kitsune Knight. It might also be very helpful to see the actual text of the blue screen error, since you've paraphrased part of it above - as ElectroHawk indicates, disabling the auto-restart on blue screen will not be harmful to your computer.
Storm
The gives 3 possibilities for what it might be.
1. My card is fried
2. The drivers are the cause and I should switch to different drivers
3. The programming in the CoH.exe has a flaw in it.
1. If my card was fried and just dying because of being pushed too hard I would see a noticeable difference between the problem when I change graphic settings as well as when I run other graphic intensive programs. I don't thus this is ruled out.
2. If it were the drivers themselves it wouldn't happen across several versions, which it has. This rules out that it's the drivers themself, and again it would effect other games. Especially considering it is display driver. The problem could be fixed by finding a driver that works with my card and the software, but the problem remains for anyone that uses the same driver...More or less this is ruled out.
3. This is the most likely given when the problem started, what the problem is doing, and no other program is having this problem.
So the solution is either I need a new driver, which will likely be incredibly hard to find or the client needs to be fixed... the former is probably the best for everyone and the easier of the two to do. -
Quote:>.> but i posted almost exactly what was there... The parts i left out had no other information. Anything else mentions was just repeated.the idea is for you to be able to see the blue screen texts
The computer will still stop everything, you'll still "crash" but the computer will not reboot until you press a key or the reset button. so you have time to take the info down from the BSOD which in return can help us find the root cause of the problem and help you.
Also...I realize that I may sound like an ***... not meaning to. -
Quote:How is that a good suggestion? It auto shut downs to prevent harm,,,why would i want to shut that off and how does that solve any problem? It's clearly a programming error or a driver/hardware problem. Considering it's not the latter because other people are having the same problem AND It doesn't happen with any other program... it leaves the former. In other words, there is nothing I can do to fix it. It's a programming issue. To disable the automatic restart, go to the Start menu -> Control Panel -> System -> click Advanced System Settings -> click the Advanced tab -> click Settings... under Startup and Recovery -> uncheck Automatically restart -> OK.
Edit: Looks like you're on Windows XP... in which case, I believe what you'd do would be... Start menu -> Control Panel -> System -> Advanced tab -> Settings... under Startup and Recovery -> then uncheck Automatically. restart -> OK.
It'd help if you at least linked to the last thread, since I'm confused about the situationPost a new CoH Helper and HiJack This log?
-
So... if you've seen my other tech topics this has continued on... thought it was fixed but no.
Basically... when playing CoH the system is locking up and crashing the system sometimes...
Well the crash goes to blue screen and dumps memory. Never could read it because usually it goes by fast, but with all the upgrades my PC has been running a bit slower so... this is what it says...though not 100%
Device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly.
Stop: 0x000000EA (0x89ED1A28, 0x8A0FDAE0, 0xB84EFCBC, 0x00000001)
It's happening in -> nv4_disp
I'm using the latest drivers for the nvidia 8800GS and this started with the patch that fixed the "flashing" after ultra mode launched.
Considering that it started with that patch, other people are experiencing something similar, and I'm not experiencing this with any other program it leads me to believe that when they "fixed" the flashing thing something in there caused an infinite loop... This seems to line up considering that's a display driver and that is what you'd be messing with to fix that problem. -
I meant game card then... I couldn't find any of the 4 places I would regularly find them they are just gone as if someone went around and stole them all. I had to get a time card
-
Apparently noone carries them any more or something... I couldn't find one at two 7-11s and a best buy... I finally found an NCsoft card at game stop... so what happened to the CoX game cards?
-

I get WoW phishing emails and i don't have an "active" (did trial) WoW account nor do i have a WoW forum thing. -
Quote:Missing the point...Yes... I am known by recognition to some members of the community here; I've attended some informal get-togethers in California of people on the Virtue server.
Of those people, only a very few know my full name: I was generally referred to as Smersh. Those who do know my full name are people I consider to be close friends now, and they did not learn my name at said get-together.
I suppose they could have taken down my license plate and found out, but that's a relatively higher barrier than my name being publicly broadcast.
Sorry, Dur, your argument lacks merit.
Open communities saying no.
Closed communities would likely flip out even more.
It doesn't matter that the open community's openness is only at a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10 and the closed is a 1 and the RealID nonsense would be an 8... The open communities that are around are saying no across the board...
In other words... The people most likely to support you are saying you are an idiot. More than likely you are an idiot.
We, CoH, WoW, STO, are the most likely to support Blizzard, and are saying Blizzard is an idiot. more than likely Blizzard is an idiot.
