important in the way that without them Modern animation would be completely different.
Without the DragonBall and Death Note BtAS would likely have been nothing like it was. The popularity of those two shows allowed for a stylistically different and more grown up animated series.
Without DragonBall and SailorMoon a lot of good animated shows would not have existed in america because those shows only were allowed to come here because of the popularity of their predecessors. -

I forgot to post this a long time ago even though I've had the idea for well over a year now...
The Rikti need to be resolved. They somewhat are as far as who they are, what they're doing, why they're doing it, and several other factors, but we see no results from this. So it's like we hit the climax where everything is answered, but then nothing is done with the aftermath so it's like a plot thread that is just lingering, but not.
So what's my solution or suggestion?

Rikti Town!
What we do is say that Paragon City or the UN or whatever has made a peace agreement with the "good" Rikti and will help them set up a small town for them and other aliens to live. Basically a "we don't truly know if your harmful or not, but we're willing to give you the benefit of the doubt" zone.
I personally would use Rikti War Zone and refurbish it, but I can see using a new/separate zone. What I would do is design a full zone layout, but then plan it out so that only part of it is built up, for like a year, so that there are maybe 2 or 3 streets and a ton of open space the first month... the second month there is 4-6 streets and less open space.... and continue on like that till we reach the full zone layout. The reason I would suggest the RWZ is because you can make the excuse that the Rikti are using the parts of the ship to build the town there by taking apart the Rikti mother ship while building the town.
Now what about story? Well that's simple. There is obviously going to be resentment from people so you can have various protesters in the zone and you can make use of the neutral mobs where there are cops just doing their job, arresting those breaking the law and there are some cops harassing the Rikti and other aliens.
Along with this setting you have 4 story lines...
Heroes want to promote peace and stop the offending parties that break the law. They are on the side of justice and peace and cooperation.
Villains want to promote peace as well because they want to get ahold of Rikti Technology that they don't have to spend money on trying to work it on, especially when there is no guarantee that will work.
Both of the above groups dislike the below groups due to them being counter to their goals
Rogues don't care one way or the other about the Rikti, but see them as a group that can be stolen from and exploited for their own power.
Vigilantes don't care about the technology or the benefits that may come from this cooperation. They don't want the aliens around and want them off the planet. They view the Rikti/aliens as a threat to human safety and will do anything in their power to remove that threat... such as leaving Rikti behind to die or just outright killing peaceful Rikti.
Another idea I had for this zone, but don't know how well it would work is to make is a PvP area as well where Heroes and Villains are on the same side against Rogues and Vigilantes...both of whom are also against each other. -

One could argue that Batman isn't Batman without Gordon so in a way having it more about Gordon is a way of acknowledging that fact. -

Not reading books doesn't make you strange, but you are missing out on a lot. If the books you read are boring you then you are reading the wrong books.
Now I'm going to go off on a tangent as to why I have found that most people who hate reading stories do so. Reading is just like any other task, the more you do it the better you get and the faster you get. I came up with an experiment to try on a person who hated reading. I actually got the result I expected and had some of my friends try it on people they knew who didn't like reading. Maybe I can spread the test across a wider area by putting it here.
I just took a random book and had the person read one page of the book and I timed how long it took them. Then I timed how long it took me to read the same page out loud. In most of the test cases the person who didn't like reading took as long or longer to read the page as it took to read the page out loud.
Now I know in my own experience I read much faster than I am capable of speaking. If I'm reading a book and I do so out loud or even just moving my lips along with the words then the book seems to crawl and isn't nearly as interesting. When I'm reading silently to myself I'm not even aware of the words on the page. In my head I'm seeing the actions taking place and listening to the characters speak the dialogue.
So that is why I think some people hate reading. They were never brought into it at an elementary level. They never "exercised" their reading muscles so that they gradually got better. For them it's like watching a movie

I am a slow reader largely because I do it on purpose to clear out clutter in my brain. I figure if I'm going to read I should pay attention to what I'm reading and if I don't do that my brain goes on thousands of tangents and wanders off into the woods of craziness. Especially with bad books or overly world-building books. There are just too many distractions (without speaking of other problems) in my world to be able to read fast and quietly and maintain a level of comprehension that makes a book worthwhile to read even if it's good.
I'm an anomaly in that I have a much higher comprehension than your normal person but have a extremely low reading speed. I also likely have some sort speed comprehension problem that is undiagnosed based on the fact that my reaction time to external stimuli is slower than I know others' time. In computer terms you might consider it something like my conscious buffer time is slow, but I have massive amount of memory and processing...
Another reason I don't like to read books is because they really do take up too much focus on one thing. If you really want to sit and read a book it requires you cut off most other things you are doing and I like to be doing 2 or 3 things at the same time. I know that if I so chose I could read/write several novels a month. It's just not something I choose to do as there are so many other pieces of media that I wish to take in. -

Was anything in this book funny? Interesting? Anything that made me want to read more? Nope, and none of the details the the supposed plot made any sense with anything else we know in the DCU.
This is a below average issue in what looks to be a bland to below average title...
It roughly expanded the information exposition section at the end of the last issue and put in memory/active participation role...It had a ton of what made it bad from the last issue... -

"If you enjoyed this book, you can get a real paper copy of it by going here!" You might get a handful of physical sales that way.
In any case, if you're going to publish anything (and you expect to make money on it) then you need to start with a marketing plan. Otherwise anything you publish is going to be just for your own vanity.

I had to look at the site to see what was up the cheapest you can get a published book is $19 for 20-40pg book and then you can set your "profit" above that. The reason it's like that is because when you buy the book from that site you are paying for that book to be printed.
He called me up and said "hey i got my book on this site, can you advertise it" which I told him "no" but he doesn't get that having the internet and how to program or how write or draw doesn't translate into being able to do everything on the net. So I am literally giving more info to you than he gave to me.
I have no idea how the book got up there, as in, who put it up and what sort of deal thee is with other people which there might be something...
I don't know where you got the whole "praise for not reading books" thing came from I stated the facts. I don't read books. Most people don't. It's idiotic to judge one way or the other based on that. I read a ton, just not books because books bore me for the most part and there is no where comfortable to read... and physical things, let alone books, get ruined where i live. The point is there are a number of reasons i don't read books in general. I have no problem with listening to them or reading in general. I'm probably one of the few people that actually read the text of missions in MMORPGs so :P -

I don't agree that Batman: TAS is far back on the list of important, they did a lot of stuff that children's cartoons just didn't do back then. It was also probably the first children's cartoon that, for the most part, handled its subject matter in a mature manner (yeesh, say that 5 times fast). I can't think of any other cartoon before B:TAS that had nearly as much depth. -

Yes, your brother showed initiative for getting a book out. That's an accomplishment. But he's done it in the worst way possible. What you have is essentially a 'vanity press' book. Tell your family about it. Some of them will buy it. In total, you should expect less than 20 sales from this book.
Learn from this experience, and use it to improve how you publish your next book. -

I didn't self publish anything... My brother is an idiot and did this himself.
I'm Not spending money on this and if my brother is he needs to be kicked in the head.
I don't know bloggers that read... I don't read books... I don't follow blogs... i don't follow blogs about reading books... less you consider comics, which I'm not in this case. That's more or less where I'd think is the best way to go... but there are problems like I wouldn't want to "buy" a book to send to a reviewer... when I could just send them the text, but I'm not sure if that would be acceptable...
Further I'm almost certain that any review, even if they were the most amazing poems ever, would be negative with the price point he put up... 10 poems for $24 is just insane... ok 10 pictures too but still... i would ding that price point so hard that it i'd have to give it the lowest rating possible every time... but I dunno... that's just what I'd do. -

I'm not trying to advertise this book here I'm looking for some advice as to where I can or what is acceptable as advertising. I don't know where to begin besides reading the book but I refuse to read the stupidity that comes out of my brother's head so that's not going to happen. I guess saying that would be bad advertising lol

Don't get me wrong, I love Mark Hamill's interpretation of the character and he really is my number one choice for being Mr. J, but I'd kinda like the character to be rested for a bit... :P
I would actually say that Sting(the wrestler) is closer to a Definitive Joker with his insane icon character that is in between Nicholson's and Ledger's -

Let's face it, you need to have practical skills that could be applied to the materials you have on hand. Someone who's a electrician, plumber, carpenter, mechanic is much more useful than someone who lacks those skills. Especially if they have a little MacGyver in them. After that it's all about being able to haul junk back to or around your camp to do the task for the day (build a water purifier, build a battery recharging station, etc.).
Unless you were a DIYer, home improvement or series hobbyist in those above skills, anybody who went to college for some nice office based white collar job is SOL unless they're also strong.
As for Doctors and nurses, unless they've done time working in 3rd world, dirt poor countries practicing, they may be next to useless unless they have a knack to improvise (HankMed).
It was an interesting idea for a reality show but various twists and projects weren't compelling enough for me to watch more than a handful of episodes each time.
what ticked me off even more is in the final episode they go over what was "learned" and the Marine biologist was all like "I wanted to prove to them that I could do it and I did. I proved I could survive an apocalypse" which she didn't...she proved exactly the opposite...that she is an arrogant idiot that would get her self *****, enslaved, and/or killed quickly if not for those around her.
I know there is a second season, but it's not on Netflix and there's supposed to be a third season coming apparently.
Another thing that bothered me is that noone stepped up and was like "We need a leader and rules" or "we need to have ways of watching for raiders at night" And then it also bugged me that as time went on even though they were "improving" their situation they were ignoring the simple things that would have kept them going a lot longer and easier like actually going and getting water since they had a ready source.
in my opinion the biggest mistake they made is not working with the several groups that were more peaceable, such as the religious group, the two stragglers, the group that the wife came in with, or the traders. With numbers comes more ability to get work done and search for more food and such... likewise with the traders, they had guns and they would have had a vested interested in maintaining the safety of the place as well as getting things working right... They mainly had perishables and if they had an easy place to put them and an electricity source it would have helped them.
Further the whole blockade at the end wouldn't have happened because the raiders obviously didn't have weapons and then battle at the end wouldn't have lasted long because there were more people manning more places.
Again, another two situations could have been vastly improved with better understanding of a working society and being more open were the Andre situation and the other colony situation. The other colony had obviously scouted and were in decent shape. They had bad defenses, and you could have used that to your advantage and said "look you have a number of materials and we have a number of materials, our place is safer so why don't you guys come back with us, check us out and perhaps work on trading or moving into the place." And with Andre and Elizabeth, more people means more people to keep an eye on someone and more people means less likely to go hostile... and if they did with more people you could create a prison system thus eliminating the 3 future incidents.
By the end of the show you'd have had a nice trading outpost and with like a 50 person population. which in general would have made more sense considering that they wanted to survive and have creature comforts and start rebuilding the city which wasn't "torn down" so much as it was abandoned. With 50 people you could have survived much longer and easier as well as scouted for a good place to set up a new village or set up around a place that you could have access to better pre-set up systems such power or waterworks. And in the long run, considering you don't know the shape of the world outside your area and potentially have other colonies popping up and a colony 120 miles away you're in the perfect position and have a good set up for a trading post so I'd more than likely stay at the colony rather than go that 120 miles in a real situation...
