Quote:Aren't they meant to be part of The Coming Storm? It's strongly implied that the Shivan meteorite landing in Atlas Park is the precursor to the giant invasion that destroys the world.Shivans.. nasty alien "thingy's" that have landed on earth and we know sooo little about them. (Although we do go forward in time when one of them has fallen in Atlas Park, so I expect to hear more about them)
Unless I'm lore-confused again and the Coming Storm was the return of the 5th... I don't know any more -
Quote:It'd make Kheldians a lot more fun if you always had a (very low) percentage chance of having Void Hunters spawn and hunt you down while you're patrolling.I think that there must be some small random % of this happening, my Bro's WS had a Void Hunter attack us in the Steel Canyon branch of the Midnighter's Club.

Quote:I was working on a new idea for an adventure where I give the Tsoo quotes from 1980's Hong Kong Martial Arts movies like the villain taunt "Your Father is an Iron Worder and Your Mother sells beans". Which type of quotes do you think go well with NPC groups. I can see using gangster quotes for the Family. What others can you think of? -
Quote:Holey moley!
And now there are Doppelgangers, enemies that are yourself!
They can have a color swap, or have the same exact costume, and every character or party will have their own different missions with doppelgangers -
I think of players as the biggest, meanest, most dangerous and unfair AV's I'll ever face in this game. If I fail, well, I'll try another strategy! I'll sneak past them, or I'll try using a couple of temporary powers, or heck, maybe I'll just leave and come back another day.
******** and moaning because you got PvP'ed in a PvP zone shows a remarkable lack of creativity and sportsmanship on your part. -
Quote:Thing is, by the time you've burnt through all those respecs, your character is probably fairly rich. Possibly rich enough to buy a respec recipe.Dechs,
My main's last respec was with a recipe I had to buy off the market.
He has used all the trial respecs.
He has used every vet respec on a 57 month vet rewards account.
He has used every freebie respec.
The devs change this game all the time and usually those changes are cause for character respecs.
To the OP, I find 10 bucks of real money for a respec to be ridiculous. I will NEVER make that purchase. 10 bucks for 10 respecs, I might.
(I have no idea how much they go for at the moment) -
Quote:I literally hope you get hit by a bus and develop mental retardation. Thanks for the awesome feedback. If there's one thing that's a constant, that puts CoX above all the other MMOs I've tried, it's the people. Every single one of the players is hands-down great.
(just kidding, welcome back!) -
Then put six procs in ALL your attacks! You'll be like Captain Planet with the heart and body and all that stuff. Except with negative-energy attacks drawn from the underworld.

The Green Mansion, countryside near Paragon City, 2:36 AM
Buck the Troll leaned back against the upholstered leather of his armchair. The flickering glow of the screen was the only light source in the room, illuminating Buck's emerald face with a pale luminescence. He thoughtfully chewed on the end of a cigar, which he had quite forgotten to light.
A cheerful metallic voice echoed through the room, causing the green hero to start in his chair. "Sir, are you alright?"
"Quite fine, Jenkins... play it back again, would you?"
The chair creaked as Buck leaned forward, watching the advert again with a strange look on his face. As the last words of the advert died away, he sat deep in thought for a long time.
Then, slowly and seemingly reluctantly, he starting typing at the brass keyboard laid out in front of him. -
Buck the Troll, a British chap who became addicted to Superadine after his disgrace and exile from England; however, he had a rare mutation for which 'Dyne was the catalyst, triggering an exponential growth in his intellect. He's basically Stephen Fry in the body of a green angry man. After battling his way out of the Trolls gang, he became a hero and has been kicking *** and drinking tea ever since.
Quote:We should get together sometime.Ceasar the Troll; A kid who grew up in Eastgate with parents so high on 'dyne that he was born green and a 'troll'. He didn't, however, lose his intellect. If anything, he's a smart Supa Troll in a non-grotesque body. Now runs his own crew in the Rogue Isles, cracking skulls and making big dollars. -
I've hardly ever seen any actual bashing of CoH in-game, only a few doomsayers waffling on about the how the game's dying.
However, when I play Guild Wars, you practically can't move for people spamming about the supposed superiority of WoW. -
It think it could work if it was implemeted as an epic power pool, not a whole new AT. That way, the devs only have to implement, at most, five different powers.

Quote:Why not put ALL of them in? Brawl becomes your multi-spectrum damage attack of awesome!Currently your choices of proc are:
Negative Energy: Hecatomb and Touch of Death
Disorient: Pounding Slugfest
Knockdown: Kinetic Combat
Smashing: Gladiator's Strike
Lethal: Mako's Bite
Proc damage is independant of actual attack damage, correct? -
"Say, Joey, didja hear about those Mook bozos they found in the river?"
"Nah, Lenny. Ain't the Marcones always goin' after those guys anyway?"
"They said it was real vicious, Joey, like real vicious. They had more holes than body in 'em, leastways that's what I heard. Marcones ain't like that. They was big-shots, too - d'ya think someone's tryin' to take over the Mooks?"
"Nah, Lenny, don't be stupid. No-one can take over them guys, they're too big... right?"

Organised Crime On The Rise: New Player In The Game?
A massive wave of organised crime has swept some parts of Paragon City. Over half a dozen banks in Steel Canyon, Skyway City, Atlas Park and King's Row have been robbed, and all staff brutally murdered, in as many days. The sole surviving witness to one of these attacks is currently in critical but stable condition in hospital, and it is unknown whether he will survive to give testimony. Back Alley Brawler called the vicious raids a "damn shame" and "a blight on our city".
While most believe that the Family are to blame, analysts in the PPD have released a statement throwing their involvement into doubt, stating that the methods used are unusually ruthless even for the syndicate of the Family, and that a "new player in the game" has appeared in the arena of organised crime. -
I did that mission in ten seconds by two-shotting him with my ridiculously over-slotted Assassin's Strike and a bagful of reds.

I walked past someone in the street and they proclaimed in a harsh, metallic voice that Lord Nemesis was watching me. I totally got a CoH vibe from that!
-
I want to unlock both Kheldians and Soldiers of Arachnos before Going Rogue reduces the requirements.
Got a level 42 tanker, so not far off the squids, but my highest villain is 31 and sucks. But my new AR/Sonic corruptor is powering through the levels like billy-o! -
Which is why Perfect Zinger is the best. Killing greys with a taunt, aww yeah 8)
-
I just tried out something new... Just started rolling a AR/Sonic Corruptor. Instead of sitting around for twenty five minutes, trying to think up a suitable name and concept, I just thought of something to do with the powersets - "guns", googled "Gun terms", and bam, I got Chicago Lightning. It's a bodacious name!

I believe my current message is "Blind invite me if you'd like your testicles sauteéd".
You'd be amazed how few blind invites come my way. -
Logged onto a level 9ish alt, discovered 50 million that I'd won in a costume contest. And to think I was about to delete him!
-
I know this gets tossed around too much, but this game is all about the journey, not the destination. I'd rather play through levels 1-50, finding new arcs I haven't touched before, learning how to play with that class, and so on, rather than instantly creating a level 50 and forcing myself to be stuck with the mediocre end-game.
I can kind of see what you're going for, and I know of another MMO that has a similar system (Guild Wars, and in fact I only use it - the campaigns are far too grindy for me), but I don't think it's suitable for CoH.
