And they said they were done with grindy badges... Obviously, grindy is in the eye of the beholder.
I'm reading reports (which, admittedly, I may be misunderstanding) that the WTF is only awarding the regular amount of merits, unless you pick the merit reward. So you only get a double reward if you pick merits, you don't get a double component, or a double SHO.
I'm not suggesting that they should or shouldn't, just that I'll open a support ticket if my rewards deviate from the European press release that took eight minutes to load.

It sounds to me that as an Incarnate you have the following options:
Choose Essence of the Incarnate component. Receive Essence of the Incarnate component, 25 merits, and Notice of the Well.
Choose merits. Receive 50 merits and Notice of the Well.
Choose SHOE. Receive SHOE, 25 merits, and Notice of the Well.
From the phrasing of the patch note, it sounds like the Notice is automatically awarded to any Incarnate character.

Normally you would choose between merits or swag, right? So the 25 you're getting are the BONUS 25. If you picked the merit reward, you would get 25+25...but you didn't. Am I dissecting this correctly?

Sure, the (two) next tiers for Incarnate Slot crafting and the three badges for rerunning WTF content after your first time.

I did a LRSF, chose the Essence of the Incarnate, and got that Essence of the Incarnate, the Notice of the Well, 25 merits reward, and I got 48k + 34k inf (plus 2*344 prestige) for the completion (rep was 0), which might just be the inf for the end of the mission + the end of the SF... or the inf bonus, I don't really know.
Edit : Compared some logs, the 34k inf actually is the inf bonus for that SF being the WST. -

I'm starting to find it funny that whenever a [insert thing here] is announced there are freak out threads that always say its coming out NAO! when it's not.
Though it would be cool if the strike pack did that very thing tomorrow though.

I'm guessing the Devs must have implemented the WST so that they can just enter in which TF/SF it's going to be without having to bring down the servers to change it. Maybe they're just making sure the servers are completely up and stable before kicking it off. *shrugs*
