Quote:I am so sick and tired of the ITF I could practically scream.
What a delight it was to have Apex and Tin Mage as WTFs instead of this thing. For many level 50s the WTF is the only thing that will drive them out of three ITFs a night, and I for one am grateful. The only thing I dont like are "speed" Apexs and Tin Mages, which makes me laugh because why do we need to "speed" through a 30 minute TF? Seriously.
Apex and Tin Mage are Task Forces Done Right and lets see more like this. I am about sick unto death and beyond of ITF. -
On behalf of people with multiple accounts everywhere, this is really too bad. I can't imagine it is a very large revenue stream, and it would (I think) be a really appreciated QoL feature for a tiny part of the community even considering the amount of work involved.

Quote:A few hours of preparation isn't cheating. It's called dropping the hammer.Option 3: Cheat.
The tactic I've used to get it is to use temporary powers to take Director 11 out really quickly. He doesn't start summoning mines for about 30 seconds so if you can take him out in that time frame it's easy to get the badge.
Basic strategy (originally stolen from Leandro IIRC):
1. Enter but leave the glowies until he timer runs down
2. Kill the three waves of warworks that come out
3. Clear all but 1 glowie (ideally one near his spawn point)
4. Summon temp pets (especially Shivans and HVAS if you have them)
5. Use Biological Mutagens temp powers
6. Grab the last glowie
7. When Director 11 Spawns drop Chemical Burn and Nuclear Blast temp powers on his head and lead the shivans towards him.
8. Profit!
Ideally you want at least 6 shivans/HVAS pets and 2-3 people with warburg nukes.
If you want to get it the "proper" way I'd advise a mostly ranged team and fly as much as possible. Kill the other malta quickly since their web grenades wreak havoc with this tactic though. -
Somehow I missed this contest, but wow--there are some awesome logos on there.

All good Virtue spam threads need the deployment of an official fluff bomb:

That is crazy impressive. Also, I am ashamed that my first ITF took two days to complete. You soloed yours in less than 4.5 hours.

So long as it's in the Atlas Park sewers, where it belongs, I'll be happy.

What has kept me here for seven years? The people. Certain ones.
You know who you are. -

Quote:Well crap, I said something and someone noticed!Out of all responses so far this one particularly intruiges me.
Would you mind elaborating just a little on what the game as a whole should be for you ideally? Cause it might just be the distance between your viewpoint and mine, but it seems so vague to me I just can't quite make it out.
I'm in the minority, I get that. Defeating an AV, even a gimmicked up AV like the Reichsman, means nothing more or less to me than defeating any other mob in the game, be it boss, lieutenant, underling, etc. The story is what matters to me. Having fun with characters immersed in the story and with team mates who are also telling stories in a cooperative persistent world is why I'm here.
For example: it matters more to me that Director 11 is trying to get his hands on Praetorian portal technology, and I need to stop it from falling into the wrong hands...than spending hours and hours preparing for a successful Midnight Dodger run. I say that being the owner of a Midnight Dodger badge.
Spending more than 30-45 minutes wailing on the guy while his invisible midgets infest the map with mines is NOT FUN for me. New costume booster packs, new story arcs, new maps--that's fun for me. I'm happy playing at -1, except when I encounter those missions that I can't just outright drop. Stupid timed Malta Kronos Titan mission on three different characters.
The challenge to the devs is to find a balance between not just you and I, but the other ~149,998 or so folks here. -

I'd hate to have people be immature about a superhero computer game!

I might be able to make this. Good show!

Quote:This is still worth repeating. I was a heavy and early lobbyist for the -1 setting. If I could earn rewards in this game by reading and telling stories, I'd be happiest. Luckily, I can almost barely make it by defeating fake bad guys.No. I never wanted challenge, and I never cared about challenge. To me, games are about entertainment and problemsolving, not difficulty and exclusivity. Any encounter which requires me to use my full spectrum of abilities is "challenging" enough, whether I had any difficulty in actually defeating it or not.
I do not need nor do I want to be challenged. -
That's called RP. I hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us do.

How crazy is buying the #1 SG on a server just because you can?

Oooooooh....I'm torn. I'm all about spreading our insidious love across the multiverse, but I'll hold down the fort on Virtue for now.

Holy unrealistic Incarnate salvage piles.
