Eighty-seven months is coming up soon. Pretty unlikely that Freedom will be Live by then. Speculation on contents?
I'm imagining new badge, and another respec. -
I was one of the first in the park. I missed the vote and exodus from under Atlas, and Pez clued me in on the migration. Like Ascendent, I had planned on logging out there for the last time.
What happened in that park is why I'm still here after seven years. And it's probably more the fact that the game reminds me of good memories, than me making any new ones.
I'll miss the park, and I have nothing but affection for all the park regulars who have posted here. Thanks for letting me be a part of your stories. -
Quote:The implication is that Pete is the "Uncle Ben" for the new Spider-man. That they were there, had powers, and chose not to use them, resulting in Peter's death. If it weren't for the fact that the new Spider-man is clearly a guy, I would've put my money on Gwen. She has a semi-meta background from when she was reconstituted from...Peter's blood. Which would be inherently spider-ized.Harry Osborn or if they want to go with darker theme...Uncle Ben!
The question I'm asking is, "Who else has webs?"

You realize you can, currently, craft just about anything you want from threads, right? Shards only work for the Alpha slot. Exchange rate and such aside, threads are "more useful" in light of the four other slots.
On your powers tab, to the right of Combat Attributes you'll find the Incarnate interface. It's horribly hidden and poorly arranged, but everything you're looking for is there--somewhat cryptically, mind you. -
The Beta server is currently locked for the purposes of testing Issue 21: Convergence.
You can load it up, keep it updated, etc., if you wish. You just can't access it unless you are beta testing I21. -
This...is...
Hrm.
I'm impressed. -

This^^^ was actually my first thought. A lot of backend stuff leans on each other. I could totally see the store go down if they were disabling the login servers while patching the game today.

Have you bought anything recently? As a protection for you, you're only able to buy things one per day.

You're not a druid, you've got specialty ranged attacks with some of the headiest team buffs in the game. If you focus on sole HP heals, you'll be a detriment to yourself and any teams you're on.
If you want some assistance, ask some more questions. As a point of general consideration, I've been playing my Empathy Defender nonstop since the dawn of the game. And it kicks butt. -
There is a vicious rumor going around that we won't be permitted to ride free players as mounts. Could you please put that to rest?
-
Freespecs... Ugh.

For my first purchase: a riding crop to flog peasants with. CLEAN YOURSELF!

Quote:Oh crap, now people in the office are wondering what I'm laughing at...Masterminds would be a bank of Dance Dance Revolution arcade games that were very loud and bright, and shorted out the building's power when more than six people used them.

Never mind the fact that VIPs will be get a monthly 400 point stipend, that qualifies as getting a monthly refund in the form of a gift certificate.
If you look at it that way, your VIP subscription is going down when Freedom hits. You just have to spend your surplus on loot. -
Quote:That's good, yes, but it still doesn't trump all the people asking how much more VIP is going to cost.Eh not bad questions though none are pressing and are things that are likely to be answered between now and COH:F's launch.
Unfortunately some have errors of logic in them such as asking what happens if you go from premium to free. Since you can't go from premium to free the question doesn't make any sense. -
Okay, need to cut and paste that gym analogy to some neighboring websites. Nicely put.

Oh, I completely agree with you. The only thing the game is "losing" is the crappy free trial.
The trick is what the dev's have been balancing for the past year+...trying to find the demarcation line between Premium and VIP.
EDIT: And doesn't it boil down to the folks on the boards (coincidentally, active players and thus now VIPs) vs. irregular players and folks off the boards (coincidentally, the potential Premium audience)? It's no wonder we don't see eye to eye. It's no wonder people on the inside are saying "less" and people on the outside are saying "more." -
Now I could be really, really wrong, but I think a lot of Premium/historic players are looking at it like this:
Buying City of Heroes is like buying a car. You've got it, it's yours. You can't do anything with it unless you put gas in it--pay your monthly sub. They upgrade and modify the car in all sorts of ways, City of Villains, Going Rogue, various perks, etc. They may quit and rejoin, periodically--but always with the understanding that once they put some gas in the car, they can go wherever they want to go.
And in the whole MM controversy, it's like someone told them, "Here, have free gas! Forever!" And when they get in the car, they find it doesn't have any wheels anymore.
The crux of the issue is explaining the sacrifices/cost of going Premium instead of VIP, as well as recognizing that you're/we're not going to make everybody happy. I'm not saying anyone is wrong or right, I'm just trying to encourage respectful dialogue while waiting for more information. -
Those are good questions. Good luck with that.
