I didn't know character models could animate like that. If that's true, then it would completely revolutionize powersets. It would seem that the devs aren't aware of it either.

Just like how the hoverboard pictures show characters doing all sorts of things that aren't even possible with the game engine. It's called false advertising, and it's stupid.

Bleah. The "rip off" part is the part where none of the good parts were included.
-
1. That is weird.
2. Agge, you know the answers to just about everything. Thanks! -
The maximum number of points possible, if you were a Tier 9 VIP when Convergence launched, is 1750. I would think you should have been closer to 1600, given the four months that they were left to accrue.

Quote:...and we got twelve. I would have paid good money for this. It should have been sold as CoT I, CoT II, etc. That way you can sell the quickie pack to everyone who needs their hands held in the costume creator, and the "hard" packs to anyone who wants to put some effort into their costumes. There are literally over 70 costumes associated with this re-vamp...
This is going to be my last comment on this topic for a while, because I know that costumes are my pet dead horse, but I really think it is worth saying one last time: The ball was really dropped on this Paragon Market content. Not buying this. -
Quote:So how long should we wait until the real patch notes get posted? :/Hi Enderbean,
Unfortunately, this fix was mistakenly included in the patch notes. The issue where incarnate powers take a few seconds to become available after zoning is still in-game. We hope to resolve this in a coming build.
I apologize for the inconvenience, and for the incorrect note!
Hi Tyrael,
They're available under Upper Body -> Shirts -> Chest Detail.

No hats, no skirts, and no wings. This pack makes me very, very sad. For the first time, ever, I'm not buying it.

No. It's just that 95% of the suggestions that people make are just crap. The other 5% can be solid gold. The devs moved it there so they wouldn't have to moderate it so much.

Quote:I should post pictures of my favorite WS. His hair clips with...his head. Yes, for some reason, his hair is situated below the horizon line of the skull. So he has long flowing red/orange hair...with an egg dome sticking out of them middle of it.Yeah, you get the drift. 'Because it clips' is the worst excuse to still be trotted out. It might as well be a skeletal horse for the amount of times it's been trotted out to die and be flogged...
Hey, now if I only had a nice tall hat I could use to cover that egg dome bald spot... -
Quote:Well said. Then why are there still TONS of costume parts that DO clip through geometry, Pos? Why is that rule true some of the time and not the rest of the time? As a general rule of thumb, players WON'T create stuff that clips horribly but, really, shouldn't it be up to the players to decide what looks good and what doesn't? Why else would I (for one) keep seeing comments from you guys about 'Wow, we didn't expect to see that used like that...that's actually really cool!' etc?
Whenever I'm designing a new costume, I always have to take clipping into account. It's just a function/limitation of the game.
That is, unless it's one the devs deliberately place on us. -
Quote:If the Carnival of Light pack doesn't have any masks in it, because there is a risk of clipping, then that (along with the Circle of Thorns pack) will make the first two costume packs that I don't buy.The thing that irks me is... we'll hear nothing back on this issue and they'll just do it again. New carnie pack with out corset, strongman helm or CoS mask.
I don't have a single barbarian-type character, but I bought that on the first day. I'm a costume *****. I absolutely love all the options. But since you didn't give us those with the Circle pack, I'm out. I'm sad, and I'm out. -
Quote:Hooray. You correctly predicted that I would be sad.

Quote:I disagree. If the costume pack has pope hats, capes, and skirts for dudes, I'd buy that in a nanosecond. Heck, forget the capes, even. With what?
Pope hats, jewel belt and cape?
If they play that card we are pretty screwed with the future of CoH.
Pope hats and skirts. I'm sold. -
Quote:Hey everyone,
I know there is some disappointment in a few of the COT pieces that didn't make it into the package, and I want to dispel some of the rumors that we do this to keep unique pieces in the NPC's hands.
What is more likely the case is that the pieces in question clash with over 20% of the other pieces in that area (cutting through geometry, in general looks really bad). In these cases we reserve the right to withhold these pieces in order to maintain the good looking characters you guys are capable of.
Not an answer that will make everyone happy, but we do our best to ensure that a vast majority of our costumes, current, past, and future, work with everything else. Not everything will fit the bill, and just work with one or two other pieces, but that is a situation we work hard to avoid in the first place. Sometimes a look just has to win out though, and the piece gets made anyway. It's just that we work under slightly different guidelines when concepting and making parts for an NPC group than we do for PC costumes.
So there's still the policy of enforcing costume designs for everyone's "safety?" I have "long" hair on my main character, and it has clipped since launch day. I would much rather prefer to decide on my own what constitutes clipping and what does not. And a skirt that goes down, and a hat that goes up would seem to have minimal clipping, as opposed to the thousands of other costumes pieces that are already in place and clip plenty as-is. -
Quote:Just because you don't find merit in a small community having a place to call home doesn't mean they don't deserve it. I could see your point, if you were calling in parity with the Badge and RP communities and asking for PvP to be condensed to a single forum--but asking for complete deletion of it is disrespectful to all the players (no matter how many of them there are) that post there.I think the PvP forums could be tossed in their entirety. There hasn't been a productive post in there for years; it has become a hotbed for flame-wars and anti-game sentiments due to neglect.
Suggestion: Remove the PvP forum and replace it with a forum dedicated to role-playing. Catering to role-players is a great way of building a healthy positive community.
You might as well ask to delete all the EU-specific forums. -

Quote:Oh, no I think I may be misunderstood here--please, for the love of god, keep the dev and the mod feeds separate.RE: Merging Community and Developer Digests
The reason they're two separate forums is because players asked for it! When you want to follow the important Dev-posts for information regarding the game, you don't want to have to sift through the many more post from Community Reps on topics like server downtimes or announcement of one-time player events.
