Quote:This is why I don't lead Incarnate trials any more.Tried doing this last night but failed entirely due to PUG teams running through the door.
Me: Do you want to go for the badge?
Team: Yes
Me: Want to fight the extra boss?
Team: Yes
Me: Don't go into the build, okay?
Team: Yes
*team enters building*
Me: You are just replying "Yes" to everything I type aren't you?

Quote:Haha, I think my first time through I was so interested in earning the badges as fast as possible that I blew about 500m scoring the accolade. I'll grant you that prices were higher at the time because I wasn't the only one doing the same thing, but yeah. This is definitely a good example of the flexibility of this game. Players can achieve the same goal in many different ways depending on whether they'd rather spend more time than money or vise versa. While it's certainly true that you can make a good profit while working on the portable Field Crafter accolade it's also possible to just blow 50-100 million Influence buying everything all at once and having the accolade done as quickly as you can click the GUIs to craft a few hundred recipes in a row.

Portable Crafting Table + /auctionhouse = never having to go to a store, university, auction house, insp. vendor ever again.
(Unless you're on a map, these days.) -
Hey, awesome, a thread with nothing in it. Smooth move, reds.

Quote:What everyone else said: it's a lack of effort. If you choose not to be thrifty and frugal, if you choose not to buy low and sell high, if you choose not to be efficient with salvage and recipes and currencies, then you're choosing to be "poor."Its the not wanting to sit and market for hours thats keeping them down lol.
And even that is a stretch of the definition of "poor." Anyone who simply plays the game should at least be some order of hundred-millionaire. You couldn't possibly miss doing this, unless you just outright deleted everything your character ever got. You don't even have to "play the market," you just have to make smart decisions with the money you have.
It's also a choice of convenience, of what makes the game fun for people. If you want to spend imaginary currency like you're Mr. Moneybags, that's cool, and a fun way to play the game. Or if you want to sell enhancements back only to vendors who pay the highest value, and demand a decent return on even the crappiest and most prolific common salvage, and are willing to wait many many days to score low bids on things in the CH, it'll add up.
I think a good example/barometer is the Field Crafting Station accolade. A lot of people hate it, and think it's a waste of effort and influence. But if you earn it the right way, you should ultimately have a positive net by the time it awards. YMMV. -
Quote:Tony, here is Turg's thread for Lord_of_Time. There are a few Christina Hendricks photos in tribute of him.!!?
I missed this post and didn't know that he had died. Man, maybe I should just call in sick today, this is depressing. I guess after seven and a half years, this kind of thing is inevitable, but still.
And TA, thanks for the copy-pasta. I'm sure Muad_Dib would have laughed. -

Quote:His last post on the boards is of a cartoon condom. Just silly, innocuous. Like Lord_of_Time's last post, arguing about Incarnates. Here is the deviant info from his deviantART page, pretty much wraps up who I knew him to be....
Can't believe how he left this world, just not fair
I'm better for them having been around. -

What Feycat said. We're not allowed to talk about it.

Losing another member of our little Paragon family in such a way is just heartbreaking. My thoughts are with his family, and I'm going to see if I have any of my Muad_Dib PMs left.
Also, Paragon Studios, that was really petty and sad. -
Truth. The CS staff told me I was better off just unlocking it alternately on my own.

Quote:Thank you. I don't get the design decision, but thank you.Unless they're changed to zero Emp merits, they'll remain too high. We got 12 new Lore trees for free, why should these new trees be any different?
They aren't really more powerful. The Interfaces follow the Reactive formula, some minor effect plus a DoT component, but with damage types other than fire. The problem is that the psi and toxic DoTs are about half as strong, even though mobs in the level range where you can use them are at best neutral to those types of damage, with many being robots that have a very high resist to either. The Judgement one is thematically very cool for the Natural types, but doesn't seem to be any more powerful than the current ones. The Destiny one is highly gimmicky. The Alphas are more marginal in benefit than the current ones, pretty much across the board.
Even if you already have each slot unlocked, you have to pay 15 Emp merits for each of these trees. They're basically making you pay to fit your concept better, if these trees do that for you.
Edit: The unlock of these new trees is on top of unlocking the slot through iXP, which is still required for each slot as a whole. -
Still asking: no more iXP? It's not in the patch notes.
Okay, catching up. These are more powerful than the other ones, correct? Because if they're not, what's the point? Are they unlocked for all characters? -
I still don't understand this. Is it 15 Empyreans on top of unlocking the slots through iXP in the trials? People keep telling me that unlocking, say, your Destiny slot gives you some of the Destiny powers, but then you have to pay 15 Empyreans to unlock these more "epic" powers. Are they more powerful? Is it 15 Empyreans for each one?

"Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor."
I will be disappointed if Captain America doesn't surprise the **** out of everyone at some point by using the hammer. Whether as a throw-away gag, "What, you can't lift that, Tony? It doesn't look that heavy to me." or as a combo attack--IE Iron Man launching Cap who is wielding Mjolnir. -
I'm not going go into discussion of the other points, but #5 is clearly Hamidon as it describes both the Hamidon Raid system as well as the Underground Trial.

Quote:Ramiel broke recently. He's supposed to be fixed, but it screwed up a lot of arcs. Did you just start his arc? Or have you been working on it over the last patch or two? The fix basically auto-completes the arc for you, and you have to earn your alpha slot some other way. The easiest way, IMO, is just to buy the "Alpha Unlock" on another character and account-mail it to yourself. So, I was just on as my Bots/FF MM, and I wanted to run Ramiels missions to unlock my alpha slot, but he won't offer me the next part (talking to Lady Gray) all he has are the "what is an incarnate" questions. Someone help!
Edit: So it occurs to me that wasn't really a question, nor was I at all polite. Has anyone else had a similar issue? I had a problem on my Blaster that Ramiel wouldn't even acknowledge me because I had outstanding missions, but that's not the issue with this character. I'm not sure what to do, and I'm starting to think the game just doesn't want me to be an incarnate. -
Randomly got one over the weekend. That would be in line with my original reward date, the one I was told that had changed. Still unclear on whether I was supposed to earn one some time in September.
