  1. But pay no attention to the mini-snowman and cherub pets!

6 months: $77.70* (equivalent to $12.95 per month)
12 months: $143.40* (equivalent to $11.95 per month)

Now each month with my sub I get a server transfer that normally costs me $9.99
550 points to use in the store that normally costs me $6.87
and a Reward Token that sells for $15.00 in the new Paragon Market (and deny it all you want but Reward Tokens now have a monetary value since we get them for every $15 bucks we spend in the store.)

That's $31.86 I'm not spending each month on the game. When I compare the value of my perks to my subscription I get the following.

If my sub is Monthly NCSoft is paying me $16.87 a month to keep my account active.
If my sub is Quarterly they pay me $17.91 a month to keep my account active.
If my sub is biannual they pay me $18.91 a month to keep my account active.
And if my sub is Annual they pay me $19.91 a month to keep my account active.
You're giving these things a tangible monetary amount, and it doesn't work that way. You're not getting $31.86 by check every month, so (with all due respect) don't pretend that you're making money playing this game. I might as well ascribe a monetary value to all the costume packs the F2P players have to buy. Do I get a $10 check every time they add a new powerset that's free for VIP? I understand what you're saying, but I categorically disagree with you.

And there should NOT be stupid lightweight silly stuff that costs almost as much as a monthly sub to the game. Like, say, for instance...a toy dog that does nothing that costs 2/3 of a monthly sub.

It's good that you "appreciate" it, because it bears repeating. You have a number of small/cosmetic/lightweight purchasable features on the market that cost MORE THAN THE GAME ITSELF. Clearly, no one on this project has worked retail before.
  4. Hey guess what, people? That racist/bigoted jerk? He's not funny.

    You noticed that, too?

They aren't even trying any more.
  6. So, Zwillinger...what was the exciting news you were going to have for today? The "groovy" news?

Unless you meant the "doggone" part of it, which is just sad. Can you at least explain the sudden and drastic off-the-cliff plunge in City standards over the past week or so?

Seriously? Look at the 21.5 patch notes. The only thing we don't have Live right now is TPN. Issue 21.5 is Live.

Except everything from 21.5 has gone Live. They just haven't activated the MBtrial yet. So...
  11. The dog should cost ten dollars, and be invisible so as to prevent clipping.
  12. Good luck with this. I'm also a lifetime, and currently annual, subscriber. Customer Service still responds with, basically, "We don't really know how to answer these questions, please ask us again later."

If you're lucky, they won't try and close your account.
  13. What is going on in Paragon Studios? Why was the patch that broke everything pushed Live? Is this Media Blitz? Where is the rest of it?

And shouldn't you be including in your patch notes that you're breaking blue-side bases with today's patch, so that now ALL SG and VG bases will attack anyone entering them?

Does anyone over there care? Seriously, what is going on?
  14. It's your character, so make it whatever you want. But I'd definitely go with "magic."
  15. Jesus, what the crap is going on? This last patch, which may or may not be I21.5, is amazingly awful. How did this even get pushed Live? Is someone just asleep?
  16. Wow, hey, did anyone mention to you guys that this sucks? Why the hell did you even put any development into this if it's not supposed to even exist?
  17. I knew exactly what was going on in this thread when I saw it. WB.
  18. David, a lot of the diehard CoH fans like myself were following the original steampunk art for the Praetorian Resistance. I thought it was really neat and inspiring. I don't have a problem with its eventual evolution into more of a gritty sci-fi punk look, but could you go into detail on this sort of concept/design change?

For all the concept art I've seen, one would think that you guys had already put plenty of resources into the classic steam look. Why the late game change?

And I have to say, having the Praetorian Resistance sort of being the analog to a favorite brass army didn't hurt either.
  19. Next time you take a look at your support ticket, see who is responding. It should say "NCSoft Support" or "Account Support" or even, if you're lucky, "City of Heroes Support."

You have to navigate a series of mazes to reach the "City of Heroes Support" people, and even then, they may not know what they are talking about. I recently called out the fact that Zwill thought some ATs were gender-gated, and Positron posted something to the effect that it's unfair for us to expect any single individual to know stuff that the rest of us do, collectively.

You shouldn't expect any useful game-related support from anyone except, exclusively, CoH Support. And even then, you still may not get it.
  20. Still there, but updated where appropriate. Most noticeably for hero capes at 20.

I'm going to side with you.

I had an old and resolved ticket recently opened for no apparent reason, and the CS reps involved kept trying to close my account.

I just wanted to scream, "FFS, read the GD ticket! It's fixed! Nothing is broken! Don't close my account!"

It took several responses and a few different CS people to get them to drop it. You may not want to kiss someone's butt, but it'll get the job done.
