  1. *nod* My current in-game avatar is not who I am, and neither of us are interested in you in a capacity beyond teaming for the necessity of this PuG.
  2. I could never openly condone griefing.

    Even a homophobic waste of space like that.

    ...

  3. I don't understand your post. Though I will say that all my characters know how to kick--they just don't all know how to do a flying jump-kick flip that does damage.
  4. I'd love to be in on this, Smurph, but I don't think I can realistically be in-game long enough to pull this off. Good luck, though!

    Awesome, thank you--the avatars still didn't disappear, they just wrapped the post text around them. So...do I cut and paste your updated style code, or insert this into my existing style code? And if the second, where?
  6. I'm in. I certainly have the funds to spare--I'm more curious to learn more of the mechanics and quirks of the game/market/players.
  7. FC: I can wait no longer. Five years down, many more to go. Bring on I16!

    Anyway, thanks to Aggelakis' switching of the First Unread graphic, it was easy to create a script to make that question mark graphic disappear completely. Just drop the following into your Stylish script..

    /* Changes the "No Avatar Question Mark" graphic to none, leaving space underneath for the user's link */
    img[src*="styles/CoH/misc/unknown.gif"] {
    width: 0;
    height: 0;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-image: none !important;
    padding: 80px 100px 0 0 !important;
    }

    D'oh, yes, I am! I shrunk the boards down a bit to get closer to the appearance of the old ones. I stuck the script you supplied in, and it moved the icons. They are still big and annoying, but at least things are legible now. I wish I understood how this was working. In any case, I also have the error messages I keep seeing:

    Why, such an affront deserves an alteration of your Rep!

    From the announcement:

    Apparently they used the early release option. Which isn't all that bad considering how unstable the servers have been recently. While the community reps do occasionally tell us why, especially for unannounced downtimes, this one was announced well in advance. In this case i'd think the why would be pretty obvious to anyone who has been playing the game recently anyway.
    The EULA allows for the servers to go up and down and any where they want whenever they want them to. And for a while, there was a stretch when they just didn't tell us about maintenance windows at all. Twelve hours of advance notice, with times off a few hours or so (but still within the reasonable "morning maintenance window) is still pretty good.
  12. Translated from the leet-stupid:
    "YOU CANNOT QUOTE DEVS"
    and
    "DON'T USE THE DEVS TO BACK UP YOUR STATEMENTS"

    Wait, really? I guess reality is difficult to swallow.
  13. Aya. And once the patch is "officially" up Avatea or Niv will have Official Patch Notes for the Live Servers somewhere. Hard to find until the Digests get fixed--but I'll throw a link in here once they do or someone beats me to it.

    And probably earn more negative rep.
  14. In Social Groups, folks with avatars have nothing shown. That's no problem with me. But folks without avatars have a giant question mark--and when I updated to the hero style, the question mark is actually bigger and extends over the edge of any posts making them fairly hard to read. Is there any way to disable that question mark in the style?
  15. Yay, I got negative rep for quoting Avatea's explanation about today's downtime. Shoot the messenger and all that.

    Wow, you're classy.
  17. I will throw in here that Zombie_Man's style skins are, while pretty much just a visual change, a great intermediary step between the old boards and the new. For a dumkopf like me, it's like training wheels.
  18. Got some weird error messages that I was not allowed to cut and paste when I setup the hero style. I'll keep an eye on things. This is really great, thank you, Zombie.

    I still have it, but in any case I just don't expect them to beta both I16 and GR at the same time. They'd have to roll up new servers, hardware, and everything. I'm not expecting GR Beta until I16 is live and healthily patched.
  20. Someone, fairly recently, got into a discussion with some other guy about a thing. Yes, I'm being vague. In any case, the OP responded with something along the lines of, "That's it, you're all being a bunch of right plural-c-word!"

    There was dead silence for a while, and then some braver folks said, more or less, "Holy crap! That's not even censored?!" To which the OP said something to the effect of, "Is that a bad word over there? My postman and I call each other that all the time!"

    Ah, differences in language. I also enjoy hearing everyone "over there" discuss a certain f-word as meaning, apparently, front lady parts? "Over here" it is rather a silly little nonsense word for the hindquarters, along the lines of "bum-bum-wiggles" or "happy-sparkle-butts."

    Well, that *is* supposed to be included as well. But that, for me, falls under the "stuff that never worked" category, vs. the "stuff that used to work but now doesn't." If I had to pick one...

    Starting at 7:00 AM Pacific Time (10:00 AM Eastern Time) on Tuesday 8/04 all live North American servers for City of Heroes will be brought down for maintenance and publish.

    We expect the downtime to last 2 hours but please allow for early release or an extension as necessary.

    Thanks for your patience.
    I am placing text here, because it will not let me simply quote Avatea.
  23. Because of today's patch, which was announced earlier.
  24. It's the patch that has been on the training room for a while. I'm looking forward to a certain fix. You may know the one I am talking about. wwwwqqqqqqqqdddddsssssssOr not.

    However, with this patch out of the pipeline, and no new ones to Test recently...and "I16 to Training Room after Comic-Con..."
