Okay, have to go and do this thing right quick--running out of DVDs to burn important files on, and my bookcase is getting crowded.
In reading about hard drives, I hear some people saying that I'm better off with an internal hard drive using a SATA connection. We are rapidly leaving the sphere of me knowing what is going on. Is there enough of a performance issue that I'd be better off with an internal drive SATA connected vs. an external connected by USB or whatever?
And would my computer have a SATA-supported connection/ability to accommodate such a device? I have an upgraded Dell Dimension 8250. I have no idea what kind of motherboard or BUS I have. Am crazy for doing this?
Advice, tips, questions, criticism and scorn-always welcome.
Thanks! -
Certain pets can also be perma'd. On my VEAT, I have the VEAT version of DP perma, the Spiderlings perma, and I've almost got the Disruptors, a Mu Guardian, and Hasten on perma. I still have three powers worth of enhancements to slot (roughly 15 IOs to go).

Cool beans. Also, I accidentally misspelled 'beans' as 'means.'

Quote:I thought you said nocturnal potato week. Anyways, I've only managed to do the event on a single character. I'm glad for the extension--it's fun.I love, love, love the Halloween event! I also love the Christmas event! We need a July 4th event...and a Labor Day event...and an Arbor Day event...and there's National Potato Week...and...

I just laugh every time. How would they even know? I guess it's a perspective thing. In DA, instead of 40m rotting zombies they only have 1m that smell like patchouli.

I was referring to the OP, but you are absolutely correct in that your account is time traveling and will need CS to straighten that craziness out.

And if the vet award schedule still doesn't make any sense, go and cut and past/take a screenshot of your account page BLACK OUT ANYTHING SENSITIVE, and post it here and we can take a look for you.
Once you know how to look at things, it's pretty easy to interpret.
Don't look at this:

Also, probability is a funny thing. If something has a 1/10 chance of happening, you can still try it 10 million times and not have it happen. It's just very unlikely.

Agreed. It does rank right up there with the addition of capes and villains.

Another answer that most people won't think of--it introduced a market and economy to the game that in many cases favors lower-leveled characters. Even if you never use a single IO, if you judiciously sell your drops you'll be a multimillionaire by the time you're in your 20's. And if you put any effort in at all, you could be a hundred millionaire many times over by 50.
You'll never ever have to worry about not being able to afford your SOs ever again. The game is still based around them. Plus, they often sell even cheaper on the market than they do from stores. So you'll earn more money, and spend less, if you just use SOs.
But then, while the above is all true, it tends to pale in comparison to the "never ever have to replace an enhancement ever again" and the even greater "my Defender has more hp and regen than a regen Scrapper, and makes Stalkers run in fear" features. -
I pretty much do the same thing, but I also have a large monitor and scale back all the windows significantly. There is a small border on the bottom, and the top, of the screen of info--the rest is all City.
Edit: Many alsos. -
The riffraff in Atlas Park on Virtue last night was colossally well-organized. I was on a team of 50's hopping zone to zone chasing the events and missed two of the banners in Atlas. The low level folks are slower in tracking down the Aspect when he spawns (sans travel powers and all), but no less brutal in curb-stomping him and his pals.

I don't have the slightest problem with high-powered recipes that can be slotted at nearly any point in someone's career being recolored purple.
Frankly, it might be a bit of a tip-off to those who consistently scream, "These are too expensive and rare!" Really? Duh! -
It is really disturbing to think that the trial does not explain its own limitations. Will every trial player think there is no teaming or chatting in-game?

Quote:This^. Pretty quickly you should have enough inf. to IO out your character by the time IOs make sense. Most of mine have enough inf. to yellow-out (and slightly orange) out by the time they hit 50. If I'm interested, then we'll see about actually putting some effort into orange/purpling them out.Umm, how did you NOT end up with several million influence by level 22?
Unless I just strip all the inf. and enhancements off of them and hand to someone else. Which friends are good for. -
It might. Nobody knows.
Given the beta time required for such a whole freaking expansion, I'm guessing into 2010. But not by that far.
