  1. I just have to point out how many times End Game Content was mentioned in the above post, and in the linked article.

    Wow.
  2. Congrats, WW!!!!

You don't need to reveal any technical or plot detail--your answer doesn't need them. I'm asking about, as I felt was insinuated by your recent interview, what is sounding like an entirely new dynamic to CoX. And since it's never been part of the game before, at least as how we've experienced it up to this point...

What do you see as the true purpose of End Game for CoX?

I thought we had it before. I'm pleasantly surprised, and eager to know more. But I wonder, "Why now?"
  3. I'm more than happy, now. Thank you, congrats to all, and welcome to all the newbs.

Any amount of paid time, so long as it adds up to three works. You could play a month in 2005, a month in 2007, and this month and earn it. Hang in there, and soon you'll be old and wrinkled like the rest of us!
  5. Someone needs to fix that hole in the map where all our bug reports go. Seriously, I'm not referring to beta feedback that isn't implemented. For that, we recommend, the devs implement as they feel necessary and appropriate. Then we gnash our teeth.

I'm talking about bugging something thirty damn times, and then some redname posts on the boards "Well, no one's ever complained about it before. If you'd appropriately bring it to our attention, then maybe..." I don't /bug anymore.

    Bye bye :)

Yeah, but you're a girl. Even though you are younger, you are cursed with cultural stereotyping. You can't just roll down a big hill with all your friends for the sheer fun of it, or give each other rides in shopping carts. Sledding is marginal, and you can't make snow forts.

    Fight the machine, Sorah!

Haha, awesome. I similarly find it amusing that most of us have outlasted/have been around longer than most employees of Paragon Studios.

I didn't mean to come off that way, Loth! And I agree with you. Besides, we have plenty of other things to get angry about! Stupid Power Liberator!!!

  13. Oh god I just checked this thread. I am so doing this tonight, thank you so much.

    Hell, I do it now.

What's the saying? Old enough to know better, but too young to give a damn? Yeah, that'd be 'bout right.
I'll hold on to that, if I may.

I've always been fond of, "You don't stop playing games because you get old, you get old because you stop playing games." A lack of "fun" in your life dramatically ages you. A lack of friends, hobbies, some manner of free time, does the same, I think. Kids can make you young, if you let them.

The only thing that truly makes me feel old, is good friends that have died. I'm young, but then I feel ancient.

Rock! We have many EU members on the NA servers, and perhaps they will post in here as well. As for now, Freedom is the most populated of the NA servers, followed by Virtue. As such, Freedom has all the good and bad things that come with a high population magnified.

One of which being, more people on at traditionally low-population times. Could be just what you are looking for.

Have fun, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

It's also funny because I was afraid you were going to read the thread. I have the utmost respect for law enforcement, and I didn't want to make it sound like I was glorifying what was, at the time, a bunch of highschool and college kids being stupid and lucky.

Almost all of us are married with children, now, and we reflect on those stories often, but always with the "stupid and lucky" caveat.

Pretty much all of our stupid adventures now amount to really bad jokes, when we can get sitters.

Also, you may want to bone up on timezones. Where are you posting from? Welcome!
  19. Also, you always want to be aware of (not necessarily avoid, but be aware of) the classic "completionist" pitfall: Sometimes IOing every power and/or six-set-slotting is a BAD thing. Some sets may not offer as much of a enhancement percentage as plain IOs do--is the resulting decrease in damage really worth an 1.5% increase in cold resistance? Debt protection--really? Similarly, sometimes a proc really isn't worth it. It may be fun to have a "Chance for Damage" enhancement...but what happens if you nuke that, and slot an ACTUAL damage enhancement in its place?

Maybe this is completely obvious, but I fall for it all the time.
  20. It's interesting...I would've thought that the badges required a patch. It would seem that they require both a patch...and a switch flip of some sort. I'm thinking the badges were in the game earlier and to avoid any earlybird awarding, they flipped the switch at the last maintenance.

So...why didn't they flip it on the 26th. Weird.

And yeah, it's true that you "shouldn't have it," but it's not worth getting bent out of shape over, and I appreciate your previews. I'll be getting mine next week+, then (Feb. 1). At least, I have plenty of other issues to get my dander up over.

    Bye bye :)

I had to laugh when I started replying, and heavily edited my original post. I started counting how many of us in our little group have been set on fire, and I kind of surprised myself. As an aside, don't wear grass hula skirts (plastic or otherwise) near an open flame, or the threat of an open flame. Avoid gas leaks, if possible. Watching a car on fire is not "cool." Car accidents are not "cool," even if they look awesome and make your horn much, much louder. Driving (or leaping) over a cliff to reach the roadway below is not a "shortcut." Windows are not designed to have people thrown against them. The human foot and hand is actually rather resilient, in regard to the weight of a vehicle. And lest you think it is all blood and gore...

If you pin and tickle a grown man until he personally wets himself, you deserve to feel ashamed. And I do.

    And that's just a nugget.
  22. This thread, like the original, needs a shedload of these:

Yes. It amuses me to see how wrong the tinfoil hat people are. In any case, there are plenty of topics that I could chat about on the main boards that are taboo. Not talking about GR isn't a difficulty at all, especially since they have (I mean...they will be) providing a set of forums dedicated to GR chatter.

I can see some villain-side right now. I just bought one. I don't have a problem buying one for you, but why are you trying to circumvent the market?

The only reason I ask, is that I've been asked to headhunt recipes for folks before...and they're usually only offering half or less of what the market is.

    So what's the deal?
  25. Both. Or neither. Since I couldn't realistically boost my Defender's damage to anything appreciable, I instead opted to max out his hp, regen, and recovery. He may not do much damage, but he's nearly impossible to kill. He can simply outlast most opponents. As for my Crab, he could have used more damage and defense. Instead, I maxed out his recharge. That lets him keep his pets out 100% of the time, and his dull pain clone perma'd. So more HP, and the pets absorb some of the threat damage while dishing damage of their own. All the purple set bonuses for him were additional gravy.
