Imagine if there was no content in CoX from level 35-40, but you could buy a paid expansion that would enable the Halloween banner events to run continuously. Oh, and not only do lifetime subs still have to pay--but the game only just came out.

PP is right, this is ripe for a marketing salvo.

Step One: Discuss the problems you feel exist with the pre-ED system.
Step Two: Present IOs as the better alternative.
Step Three: Transition
Step Zero: Don't let Jack open his mouth.

Step One: Jack denies that they will change how powers work.
Step Two: Immediately start CoV beta with ED in place.
Step Three: Permaban people who break the NDA with dissent.
Step Four: No alternative.

Same ending, which I much prefer to the way things were. Less "butthurt" involved. (I am now ashamed to have used that word.) It could've been handled better, yes, but people need to get over that.

And yes, again re: the thread as a whole: ED didn't diversify, IOs did--regardless of their connection with ED, if any.

Heh, that's a good point: the relative number of people affected by the cap has to be pretty small.

With a full inventory and stock, I could turn 75-100M nearly every day crapping the same recipe over and over. I don't play every day, though, and that would be with the most ideal conditions (IE, all stock sells, all supply fills, and quickly).

But it's boring me. And the worst of it is...I could flip junk salvage and make double. I enjoy the thought of being paid for the service of convenience I provide...but making money off of the impatient, lazy, and stupid just feels wrong somehow. :/

You've always been able to buy and sell stuff off-market. I kind of have mixed feelings about it, myself.

If the inf. cap was raised, it would be easier to store inf. on characters and the high price recipes would have more competition, being visibly bought and sold on the market. The prices would stabilize since the supply and sales would be more transparent.

If the cap remained, rare backroom recipe deals would continue to provide a source of extreme profit for the rarest of rare dealers.

I'd wanted it raised in the past...but I'm kind of attached to the actual existing black market concept, now.

I like the variety of unique little buffs like that, but %debt reduction never made any sense to a good player.

I have one that I've used for...a very very long time. Buy recipe at 1K-500K, craft and sell at 5M. I've been able to flood the market with them, and it's never gone below 5M. I've seen them sell for as high as 12-15M, though.

I'm probably going to be giving it up, for now...it's just...boring.
