Even more so since i17 has nothing at all in it except 2 arcs and a new posi which is just a similar posi kinda updated.

why not reward people for staying with the game and make it easier for the ones still playing instead of harder which only makes people go to other games?

i think its another case of the devs diconnect with player base
Pardon me, but something is diconnect with your brain. Define "no one," please?

For my part, I mean soap and weasels. It looked like it was carved out of a block of cement, and could still be used to strip paint. Here is a close-up I found, you'll note the rough texture, and the lack of the front-side shot. But the colors are straight on this one.
  3. AA has the full dissertation, so I'll defer to that.

But if I don't get six blind invites when I login, it's a rare day. And on that day, if I want to do some pugging, I form my own team. Within a minute, I'm always turning people away at full capacity.
  4. I have to stick my nose in here and comment that I've not only seen those WoW figurecrafts, I've held one in my hands. And they're absolutely hideous. I know that WoW doesn't have much in the way of character customization, but the figurecraft looked like it was gnawed out of lava soap by two rabid weasels that hated each other. And then the features were lightly airbrushed within a reasonable facsimile of where they ought to be. IE: pants were pants, but the face was a horrible monstrosity.

I'd love some figures of my own characters...but not like that.

2 hours of not adventuring later, my Dom (level 38) was absolutely unable to get on any teams. BTW, what is a suitable wait period between broadcasts? I think I was waiting anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes, which seemed reasonable to me.

Are there any other global channels on Virtue that are better suited for finding teams? I would really like to avoid any repeats of tonight, preferring to spend my time in game actually running missions instead of standing around trying to get on a team (totally bored with soloing).
Query: When you're "trying to get on a team," are you just standing around spamming a channel or broadcast with "$level $archetype looking for team"?

If so, I think I can see your problem.

Either way...I have already stated that I know why my suggestion doesn't work.
I was just pointed something out.
Of course no one has done it. You'd have to have known that, some day in the future, the dev's were going to add something called the "vet reward" system to the game. So in between advance lottery and stock purchases, you'd subscribe and then rub your hands together in villainy and say, "Oh boy, only five more years and then THEY'LL ALL REGRET IT."

Some of you may have noticed a new developer lurking on the forums, Black Scorpion, who was introduced here:http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=218430

I wanted to take a moment to explain what exactly he and I will be working on with Mission Architect. Black Scorpion normally works with Synapse and Castle and all things power-related, but he'll also be helping out with Mission Architect powers from here on out. He'll be doing things like looking at balance issues in terms of power and experience for custom powers in Architect. This is especially important given the new custom experience system that we'll be rolling out with i17. He's been working on a lot of cool things for Architect which we're both super stoked about, including a more preferable solution to the current ally experience penalty. This is something you'll be hearing more about soon.

You can think of Black Scorpion and I as a team, like in a buddy cop movie, only instead of fighting crime, we work on Mission Architect. We'll also sometimes say witty one-liners while tracking down bugs. Black Scorpion will work on ensuring things are nice and balanced within the system, while I'll be working on introducing new maps and features into Architect.

So please welcome Black Scorpion, I'm sure you'll all be very happy with what he's been working on for Mission Architect!
Shame I can't even +rep Fearghas. Well, thanks for the news, chief!

  10. I pretty much still take Hasten on a few characters at 6--it's a good fit for certain low-level ATs with not as many offensive powers to rely on. And most of my older characters are tweaked just the way I like them, so it's not like I'm going to respec them just to scoot one power out of the way. It's an odd little perk, but I can't see where I've even used it, let alone used it to give me an unfair edge that might put a newer player at a disadvantage.

See, the thing is...I don't really care (not re: you, re: the issue). Grant you, I'm just one guy and there are plenty of other people with plenty of other opinions...but it feels like all this talk is trying really hard not to sound like an entitlement (or anti-entitlement) rant. We didn't have vet rewards when I started playing, they were added after the fact. And I always had to take my travel powers at 14--this level 6 thing only just happened.

So it's not hard at all for me to imagine playing this game the same way I always have.

How is it difficult for "everyone else?"

Personally speaking, and speaking as someone one week from their 72 month vet badge, I wouldn't feel cheated. I mean, I don't care either way, really.

I guess when it comes down to it, though, even for something as simple as a travel power--I think things that confer an in-game advantage should be earned instead of bought.
  13. My six year b-day with CoX is next week. Happy Anniversary everyone.

For the nature of the question? Probably yes.

Considering the source, probably no. Clearly, Vanden is working on cleaning up more power icon problems and is working to properly differentiate between the two attack side-effects.

I'm sure furries everywhere have breathed a sigh of relief, now that they've passed your moral gauntlet. Huzzah!

This^^^. They only animate for certain travel powers. Are you just walking around with them on?

    New Mooks

Pretty sure the low-level Mooks have always looked like that. It's the higher-leveled ones that are somewhat more refined.
  24. This needs to be added to a new MOTD in-game. The Live servers, or at least Virtue, was a seething pot of misinformed nerdrage the past two days I was on. And it's not limited to any particular zone, IE AE babies in Atlas. Talk about conspiracy theories and entitlement issues.
