Then stop bidding more than "5-6 mil for a rare io salvage." You set the prices.

They give away costume codes all the time. They may post here, they may have it on FB, they may have it on Twitter. Since cutting-and-pasting the code is too easy, they often embed it in some flashy piece of artwork that you actually have to read, and then type. Sometimes the code is mirror-imaged, upside-down, etc. to make it more difficult.
Also, if this is your first time...remember that you are up against many thousands of people competing with you. Hope to win, be prepared to lose.
And, as slaad was (I think) getting at--make sure you're going after the correct code. They often post them two at a time, one for NA and one for EU. Don't mix them up, because they won't work, and you'll lose time. -
Quote:Going Rogue and Issue 18 are concurrent. We just have no idea what that means in regards to content. You could consider the merged markets a feature of I18...beyond that, I can't think of anything else.If issue 18 is the Incarnate issue, it's already been stated that you need GR to access most of it, so it would have to be after GR. My guess is issue 18 will be 2-3 months after GR. Right about the time that the new GR excitement is waring off. Makes no sense to release GR and a free issue at the same time imo.

If someone were to ask someone point blank, to their face, "Are you in GR closed Beta," I'd much rather people respond, "I can't talk about that," than just outright lying.
I don't think the Devs are expecting you to lie to everyone you know to keep GR a secret, so long as you don't run around uselessly shooting your mouth off. -
As I've said elsewhere, I've always RP'd WW and the BM as being the same organization. This is just icing on the cake for me.

It's only 100M.
Gleemail it to @Thaneval and I'll launder and turn it around for you. No fee. I'm not on every single night, but the moment I see it I'll wash and rinse it for you. A PM on the boards after you did it, and I'll be sure to check ASAP, too. -
I've always RPd WW as a black market trading house. Really? You have nuclear launch codes for sale? Organs and blood? Weapons?
I think the fallacy is expecting everyone else to RP things the exact same way that I/you do. Venture, you're free to continue RPing however you like...but the fact that this benefits all of my characters on both sides from both a mechanical AND roleplay standpoint is just...well, it's great for me.
I hope things work out for you. -
Quote:Yes, yes that will also do nicely. When you see the bathtub, unmute it. There is...an opening narration that ruins everything for stupid audiences.Or, if you are exposed to a non-Director's cut, don't read anything and turn the sound all the way down until you see the bathtub. Really, I'm not joking.

Quote:Couple more interesting tidbits:
With less than two months until the launch of City of Heroes Going Rogue, many of our partners are working to promote Going Rogue.
If you visit the AMD Games site at game.amd.com, you may see some familiar faces. Or check out Razer Zone, where Going Rogue is now one of the featured games
I don't understand. What is this?
It's... It's not...
It's not...marketing, is it? -

Quote:God. You remember when they added the cape as a costume piece?You're wrong and like many other naysayers will be proven wrong by the merger.
Prices will hit their equilibrium, marketeers will still make money as they always have, and everyone will have better access to goods.
Some prices will go up, some down. I imagine that heroes will have somewhere to sell all those pet recipes now, villains all that salvage that goes to waste. This will make lowbie characters on both sides money. Those that bother to post their stuff will do well. All will be right.
The fools who claimed that loot would ruin the game were wrong;
The idiots who claimed that side-switching would ruin the game were wrong;
The madmen who claimed flashbacks would ruin the game were wrong.
I've was for all these changes. Loot and Flashbacks have become beloved features and I'm sure that side-switching will as well. Strangely, I expect this market merger to simply fade into the consciousness of the game. Folks will come to believe that this is how the game always should have been. All will be right.
"CAPES WILL RUIN THIS GAME!!!!" -
Quote:A few of you have made comments about the RP aspects of this merger, so Id like to discuss that a bit.
Influence and Infamy have always encompassed more than just the kindness and goodwill of the citizens of Paragon and the fear and terror which allows you to extort denizens of the Rogue Isles. Yes, some if of it is actual resources which can be taken with you. Its also assumed that if you are leaving one city for another that you would cash out and call in every favor youre due on the way out. This is all handled for you behind the scenes, but from an in-character perspective thats effectively whats going on.
If you feel as though some of that goodwill and extortion earned is something you shouldnt be able to take with you, stay tuned to Going Rogue information for something in this vein. However, it will not be INF in any fashion.
As for the Market Merge, two recent developments in Primal Earth are responsible for this change:
One is the sudden emergence of a large number of fallen heroes and redeemed villains moving between the spheres of Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, calling neither place home. These powered individuals live in shades of grey, and facilitate the trading of goods and services in secret between the two worlds.
The other is not quite such common knowledge. Out of nowhere, Wentworths has gained access to new suppliers, but all suspicions and investigations have been stymied by the immaculate paperwork of their new partners. Likewise, the Black Market has suddenly seen a rise in activity, though no one has looked too closely at the why so long as the goods are solid. For now, it remains a mystery.
Hmmm....

Between this and the Official Market Merger of Awesome, this is a great day to be a CoX player.
