Zap,
Odd question: does Acid Mortar count as a movable pet for the purposes of Group Fly?
*ponders the idea of dropping acid from on high on hapless Longbow emplacements* -
Second blast power (high damage and knockback) and the grenade power (Target AoE, moderate, disorient).
Can't decide whether to get Acid Mortar or Poison Trap for my L20 power...
[edit] though if someone's started a whole thread to rant about acidy goodness think I'll go with that... -
*KA-CLICK*
That's FLUX, Sin. Agent Flux. The one with the pulse cannon not quite aimed at your head for making her sound like a loo cleaner?
*GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR* *fierce biteyness* *GRRR* -
I've just suggested having a Salvage Dealer who'd buy the stuff off you in exchange for Prestige... then at least you could get rid of it.

I got the fourth beacon this evening (sharkhead) and someone else got the SK badge = 5 badges = Mega Monitor. SG Computer also ready apparently, but I think we need a communication centre. and a workshop. and... *sigh*

You should have gone before we left. Yay - found we now have a workshop
So we need:
250k for first power unit (crystal)
some for first control unit (not sure how much)
25k for first forge
...and we can start building, y'know, stuff.
*ponders* who do we know in other SGs with bases that we can swap tech stuff for arcane stuff with? -

BTW, Plight, if you're reading this... check the PC ZONE Pictures Thread
you made print!
*proud* -
Odd question - can heroes and villains trade with each other, and would influence be tradable as infamy?
-
Sin: don't worry, you're not alone... as I found out when someone opened a very, very specialist club in my town. (Search on theregister.co.uk for "trample Norwich" - some links from there NSFW. My reaction: mixture of puzzlement and hysterical laughter.)
Back to non-footwear-related malarkey- SG Exploration Badges: do we actually need a teleporter in place before we collect these? If not, let's go get'em. -
The boss said I shouldn't talk shoes on the board, Sin.
If you want to hear me describe my shoes in loving detail, how tall and stately they make me look, call 0900 157...
...gotcha. Weirdo. -
I took Grant Invis for my Beta Ninja MM and worked very well, both for sneak attacks and as a DEF buff. Besides, ninjas are supposed to be invisible...
Shadow Fall would work well for PVE - providing you kept your pets on a short leash - but not for PVP. Jounin get Hide and Placate when Trained, so you only need to do your Genin and Oni. -
(e) none of the above, for pretty much the reasons you set out.
Try actually *looking* at the thing that I'm holding up or trying on. If you think it doesn't suit me, say why but try and focus on the positives (good let-downs for a shopping buddy with serious overspill or VPL: "It doesn't suit your skin tone", "I don't like the pattern" or "That colour's way too drab for you".)
Remember, it's never that someone doesn't fit the dress, it's the dress that doesn't fit the girl and is therefore inferior to her needs. The designer is clearly at fault, standard dress sizes are clearly a hideous alien plot designed to torture our minds and any staff that look askance at your choice should immediately be thrown out onto the street naked. Or shot, if that would constitute a public health hazard.

If you're in a store, find something that catches your eye that does suit me, which proves you've been PAYING ATTENTION.
Better yet, offer to pay for it. -
so *that's* why they got Paris Hilton to advertise Burger King. Sex + Food = Happy Blokes. Tsk.

Women are supreme masterminds.. or guys are just plain stupid

Women are surprisingly easy to please, though.
We want everything we want, exactly when we want it and never when we don't. Simple really. -
Why would you want to shake your sandwich at anyone, or am I just being a little too innocent here?
-
might be stuck @ work tonight but do best to be there

Read somewhere else that you can make a bare-bones base sufficient to start your conquests for around 1.5m, covering:
- Basic plot
- Power Room with enough power to run all below
- Control Room with enough control to run all below
- Teleporter Room with one pad
- Hospital with one basic Rez teleporter
- Workshop with Basic Workbench/Forge -

So far we have a Functional Base. 4 rooms, power gen, mainframe, console, workshop with 2 tables (standard and advanced).. we just scraped through it. - although now.. we have rent to pay so we wont be able to enjoy it for long!
[/ QUOTE ]
There's a point. What is rent calculated on and how often does it need to be paid? -
Have a horrible feeling you're right. Either that or the Prestige earning rate is way off base.
Though if the devs are listening, simply knocking the last zero off all the prices would get us into full-on raider mode a lot faster...
Seems a bit pointless to spend all the time developing wonderful base design systems and then we can't afford to play with them
PS: Balance is one thing. Fun is another. The two should not be confused in this case. I spend my 9-5 day grinding for real cash...
PPS: Here's a thought. How about special SG cash-earning missions: say a giant bank job for villains or confiscating drug money for heroes? -
Toilets are a decorative feature and can be bought for a small amount of prestige... but the doors don't lead anywhere. (How evil.)
EDIT: Zap got there first.
Anyhow, using a test SG to play with base building, I was able to cook a nice-looking (if small) base with some defences, power, control, work tables, a hospital, two security rooms (for Items Of Power) and a teleport room for around 10 million Prestige.
Considering that:
(a) we don't need defensive stuff till we can go grab Items Of Power
(b) we can do without Botty turning into Lawrence Llewellyn Botty for now, so we can just skip the decoration and get all the functional bits working
...we can probably get a working base for half that. Since we've got 400,000-odd prestige with just the Head Start and one full day's play, we could have something decent up and running in a fortnight. -
You make bits for our base. as Master Z's extensive guide shows (though it appears to be only for tech stuff), you can make a wide range of stuff.
Quick example:
Say I've had a busy day of evildoing and have been beating up Council and Goldbrickers. Amongst my salvage bag I find two Ceramic Compound samples and a Black Box. When I go to the Worktable, it tells me I can make a "Tech Material" part from it. I'll then pass this onto whoever has base editing rights.
When they put all these refined parts together, they can then make new base items - for example, six Tech Material parts put together on an Expert Worktable makes our Mission Computer, unlocking the all-new SG-only Missions.
I don't know if we get one credited or if they simply get unlocked and then we have to pay for them with Prestige. -
[ QUOTE ]
If the SG decides upon Arcane as a Base theme, then all members should be in SG Mode against any mobs/missions known to drop Arcane Salvage, and out of SG Mode for Tech-droppers.
This means we only get the salvage we need, the SG earns Prestige, but the player also gets the Inf they need to keep up with the Jones'.
Hope this helps!
[/ QUOTE ]
The man has a plan... and I had wondered why you couldn't do both Arcane and Tech stuff in Beta.
So what are we - tech geeks or wizards?
Also, is there a list somewhere of what drops what?
In case we need to start one:
Arachnos: Tech (not sure about Fortunata and Mu)
Mooks: Tech (armour parts etc)
Snakes: Magic (venom, teeth, idols)
CoT: Magic (amulets, orichalcum fragments)
Haunts: Magic (trinkets, swords)
Finally, we need to meet up every now and then at a regular time to drop off all the salvage and/or finished parts with a dedicated Forge Master - easiest if one or two people are nominated for this.
*feels all efficient and secretarial now* -

Plight, u forgot your pills again this morning? *searching for the mute button*
I'm in SG mode most of the time, untill i discovered you gain prestige INSTEAD of influence (infame?).. no wonder i felt so serious poor at lvl8. Anywayz, though i have roughly the same look as Sinergy, i serious need a cape to cover my shiny behinds. If dreamweaver gets a glitch of that.. pfew bring out the marriage-probs
[/ QUOTE ]
DW definitely spoken for, sorry.
She does have a clone now though - an EVIL clone at that...
*kidding*
I ALWAYS feel poor at L12, but hadn't noticed until I got there how short I was. Guess I'll have to do one day for the SG and one day for me... unless anyone's got cash for DOs to spare? I have a growing family of robots to feed, you know... -
Nice to meet you Duarte...
Y'aint never gonna get me on TS. I hate digital mikes, even phone mikes. Make me sound like Bonnie bloody Langford. -
Wah... 5 levels to go before my evil robot army can kick hero booty!
Honestly, these "life" things cut right into your game time. -
DreamTwister and Agent Flux reporting for duty...
