  1. Q. How does the Assault Rifle work?

The trusty Bauer Anderson Davis MFO-101 (Multi Functional Ordnance) is a miracle of modern weapons and recycling technology.

The first rifle to be able to manufacture its own caseless ammunition - compacted high density carbon rounds, nitroglycerine pods and liquid accelerants recovered from ambient atmospheric carbon dioxide and nitrogen - it is an excellent choice for any soldier likely to be exposed to extended combat.

This "Swiss Army Knife" of rifles also comes with an invaluable instruction manual, written by the same people who make VCR, DVD and graphics card installation instructions. We're sure that you'll get to grips with them in time...

I have a AR/FM and I'm having a great fun with it in PvP, I can 2 or 3 shoot domis, MMs, corrs and sometimes stalkers. People need to try without devvices... AR doesnt need to be with Dev...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Devices enables you to see stalkers

    [/ QUOTE ]
..and blow them up with Trip Mines

Though more often than not, Stalkers may blunder into them whilst your setting up...

    "it's Nova-ing time"

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wonder if "It's Chico Time!!!" would work as a taunt bind for tanks? (Cue mass pile of screaming mobs yelling "NOOOOOO!")

Speaking of, I actually just made a dark/sr scrapper called Incredible Nemi

    Nemi rocks.

Hmm, the quote.. I know I've hear it somewhere .. Princess Bride? It sounds like something they'd say in it

    [/ QUOTE ]

Give that man the Smart Beggar badge...
  5. Sorry for picking your brains again, but...

If you had to choose one of the following for an L35 AR/Dev power, what would you pick?

    - Time Bomb
    - Hasten
    - Beanbag
    - Acrobatics
  6. Odd question related to the above.

Say I let loose Full Auto (or any other AoE/Cone weapon) on an enemy, and there's a stalker or other Hidden enemy/mob that I can't see in the target area.

Do I still have a shot at hitting them, and would they magically appear if I did?

I was the one that dubbed it "Full Aggro". However I will join syn in the slaping if you don't take it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Form an orderly queue for the slapping, boys, ok?

How should Full Auto be slotted in your highly esteemed opinions?

Trust the Syn. The Syn is your friend.

or as we non ar/* like to call Full Auto

Full "Here comes a load of... [censored]?! RUN!! It jammed!" Auto

edit: the censored part is a popular 3 letter abbreviation starting with "What the"... bleedin' filters...

edit2: and oh, Nemi is cool Have actually gotten quite drunk one time together with the author... hillarious...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Still doesn't drain you like Nova, which we AR types like to call "Rez please in 5..4..3..2..1.."

And yep, Nemi's great (Bonus points for spotting the movie quote in one of the .gif frames)

    40-50 PvP Zone

It's in Issue 7 fer sure... (clicky linky)

    Coming April-ish.

AVAST, YE LANDLUBBERS! HERE BE SPOILERS!
Recluse's Victory is a dimension-hopping zone, so expect evildoers to be doing Portal Corp-style timewarps in I7.

Player actions actively turn the tide of battle in the zone and may even change its appearance. As with Warburg, completing the as-yet-unannounced core mission five times will earn a badge - for those who tolerate PIGG hackers, the badgy goodness can be sampled early on vidiotmaps.com's badge list.
  12. AR blasters don't get Nova, but we do get Full "HAHAHAHA!! EAT LEAD YOU SUCKERS!" Auto.

Thinking also of "BOOM! There it is..." for telemining Stalkers
  13. Been on Flux a couple of times in the last week, but mostly levelling Emily on CoH. Give me a ding if you want to team for evilness
  14. Anyone with the Valentine's confuse temp power could help out as well, I guess...
  15. Counters, half-circular tables and *some* desks can accept items (the White desk and Rustic desk definitely can, not the executive or PC models).

Items have to be smaller than the item they're placed on (sounds logical enough, but even though the Plasma screens have small bases they're still as "big" as the screen width).
  16. Must... resist... kink... jokes... wrong... forum... auuugghh...

Just asking since several people baaaah'd at it a bit - "Full Aggro" was one name it got called. But will trust the Syn.
  17. The odd thing is that with a slightly weaker powerset, rather than BLAST! and SMASH! you tend to get more tactical - telemining ftw again...

Incidentally, nearly dinging 32 - so votes please:

    ...is Full Auto worth getting?
  18. Thanks for the advice. Been playing with it a bit more and can teleport any mins or LTs up to orange about 75% of the time. Red LTs don't budge and red mins can be shifted around half the time. This sound about right to you?

BTW, have Trip Mine slotted 3xDAM, 2x RCHG and 1xACC - does this make them reasonably reliable and tastily damaging?
  19. With Ranger Emily (AR, which is fairly accurate anyway) I use one slot of ACC on each attack in case of toggle dropping. Keeps hit rate well over 50% for those first few if I get stunned and rarely miss with TD back up and running.

TBH, when some people think about DPS, they don't factor in that any missed damage from an inaccurate power is wasted.

    Just my 2 inf.
  20. [ QUOTE ]

The damn things take 2 accuracy rolls. One to see if they go off and another to see if they hit. To me this makes them less reliable damage dealers than ignite.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep. But one +ACC slot sorts that out and they're wonderfully effective against boss mobs (particularly Freak tanks - finished the Freaklympics arc last night by playing Trip Mine pinball with Mistah Static).
  21. Prenups do work under Rhode Island law (odd place for the devs to put Paragon, but RI's a pretty weird state in the first place).

So for RP purposes, it's legal

Now all you need is someone to RP Ally McBeal while you sign it and someone to show up as the dancing baby.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
I don't think it's AR but the lack of a Build Up type power with Devices. I'm afraid with that secondary you really won't be doing the types of damage that a /eng can produce.

I'm Eng/Dev and theres no way I could one shot a stalker. All /dev blasters have no real power I'm afraid. We used to be able to replace a damage enhancement from an accuracy because of Targetting drone but because of ED we don't even have that anymore. The only decent damage I have is mines/teleport and if they nerf that I'll definately **** off.

    [/ QUOTE ]

True. But you do get fun toys to play with on Devices:

    - Targeting Drone: combined with AR, you ain't gonna miss much.
    - Cloaking Device: I don't know the numbers, but this seems to have better DEF and less end drain than Stealth, plus no movement penalty.
    - Trip Mine: BANG!
    - Auto Turret: Handy little aggro magnet

    ...and more

I'd been thinking of cooking up an AR/Energy blaster for a whiles though... might do one as a test.

    Say:

Slug, Power Thrust, Energy Punch, Build Up, Buckshot, Hasten, Beanbag, Sniper Rifle, Super Speed, Conserve Power, Flamethrower, Swift, Health, Stamina, Bone Smasher, Power Boost, Combat Jumping, Full Auto, Boost Range, Total Focus, Body Armor, Cryo Freeze Ray, LRM Rocket, Sleep Grenade
  23. I think AR is still a pretty acceptable set, and can be fun if not spectacular in PvP (in a word: Beanbag - stun and toggle dropping fun.)

Would agree it could use some love though - esp as Lethal and Smash are the most commonly resisted types, could use some more damage types. (For example: you could have a "Build-up" style button for Incendiary Rounds - boosts damage slightly and adds a DoT burn component).
