    Comments please?
  2. Would it make a huge amount of difference to drop CJ/SJ and take Hasten & SS? I have the GvE Jump Pack (prestige power) so I have vert movement when I need it...
  3. Very unscientifically:

    Clickyheals - 3 Heal, 3 Recharge

FH & IH - 3 Heal (is it worth slotting Health for this too?)

    QR + Stam - 3 EndMod

Offensive powers - all 2 +Acc and as many Dam as I can fit on (except Parry, which will be 2 +Acc only. Is it worth slotting this for +Def or not?)

    Combat Jump - 2 +Def

    BU + Hasten - 3 Recharge

    Swift - 1 Run
    Rest - 1 Rchg
    SJ - 1 EndRed

    Knew I'd forgotten something

Plus I've never played /Regen before, so I didn't know this was a selfheal AS WELL AS an HP boost. 6 days to my 24 month badge and I'm still a n00bster

Thanks for the advice. NEW build to 50:

    01 Hack
    01 Fast Healing
    02 Slice
    04 Reconstruction
    06 Quick Recovery
    08 Combat Jump
    10 Dull Pain
    12 Swift
    14 Super Leap
    16 Integration
    18 Health
    20 Stamina
    22 Build Up
    24 Parry
    26 Disembowel
    28 Instant Heal
    30 Whirling Sword

    38 MoG
    41 Focused Accuracy
    44 Laser Beam Eyes
    47 Torrent
    49 Slash
  5. Time to regen this thread from the dead...

Very much enjoying playing my BS/Regen Lady Grace.

    So far:

    01 Slash
    01 Fast Healing
    02 Slice
    04 Reconstruction
    06 Quick Recovery
08 Hack (Freespec at 22 to: Swift)
    10 Build Up
    12 Combat Jump
14 Parry (Freespec at 22 to: Health)
    16 Integration

... I love the Safeguard temp travel powers. Haven't had to take anything yet and still got 20 minutes of Leap and 1h 30 of Flight left.

    Here on in...

    18 Super Leap
20 Whirling Sword (Freespec at 22 to: Stamina)
22 Whirling Sword (moved from 20)
    24 Parry (moved from 14)
    26 Disembowel
    28 Instant Heal
30 Whirling Sword (or: Hack, or Presence Pool Challenge)
    32 Head Splitter
35 Revive (or: Hasten, or Presence Pool Intimidate)
    38 MoG
    41 Focused Accuracy
    44 Laser Beam Eyes
    47 Energy Torrent
49 Conserve Power (OR: Presence Pool Invoke Panic)

    ...thoughts please?
  6. ...does Lightning Storm get Containment Damage - and if not, why not?
  7. It's good for stunning minions, which it does very effectively. So if you solo and need to hold up a crowd of minions while you wipe out the bosses, it works. If you team and you're unlucky enough to get surrounded, it's a good "panic button".

    Oh, and it's pwitty

It will NOT, however, affect Lts or Bosses at all unless stacked with another Disorient (from another player or a different power).

If you have a spare slot or you like it for a concept build, fine, but you're probably better off with a pool power if there's nothing else tasty you want.

For an L35 choice, Tornado is much more useful.

It's invaluable when soloing, but more situational when teaming - especially if you have a herd-obsessive tank. As an example, unleashing Tornado in the respec Reactor is very effective in keeping bad guys - including bosses - away from the reactor core and off their feet.

If you position it in a small side room, sewer tunnel or corridor corner, it can lock down a roomful of bad guys and keep your team happy.

Be aware, though, that if there's nothing for bad guys to bounce off (eg: in larger rooms or open areas) then you will split up any herds and make both your and your team's AoEs less effective.

I think this is a conspiracy...the police can't be arsed to recapture all those council/hellion/skull thugs so they leave it to escaping supervillains to kill em in order to free up prison space and get away with not fulfilling thier duty as officers of the law.

Yep, John Reid has a lot to answer for.

    Oh, you meant in-game??

    Gravity Storm

Anyone got slotting advice for Singularity, Tornado and Lightning Storm please?
  10. Very happy with my new sparkly ball of DOOM following me around. It certainly seems to be able to take a lot more punishment than imps or frosties, maybe on a par with the Stone. Not sure whether it dishes out as much, but it really does help with lockdowns

The Energy/Energy combination is the most fun you can have with your GR1SM battle suit on.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Edited to remove any possible Speedo contamination and prevent unnecessary mindbleach releases.
  12. I've always slotted 2 or 3 ACC (even pre-ED) for one simple reason: no matter how much you boost your damage with reds, if you don't hit the damn thing in the first place that puts your effective damage numbers down a lot.

If you have a secondary boost such as Targeting Device you could drop this to one, but never zero - coming back from a stun or other toggle drop you may need to squeeze off a shot quickly.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
The mob must actually be held, immobilised, disoriented or slept when you attack it for containment damage to take place. So if you were trying to hold a boss, you would need to stack 2 holds on him.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Question - do you need to have personally held/slept/mezzed the mob or is any mezzed mob counted as Contained?
  14. First two - I'm not sure these two classes of Tanks are meant to do the other two
  15. Buddy of mine has a concept for a Tanker toon they want to try out, but which is better - Stone with Ice Melee or Ice with Stone Melee?

    G'day UK!

    [ QUOTE ]

To me so far it's been the digital equivalent to a wedgie and naked-run around the pool table: exactly what the new guy deserves. No biggie.

Good to see the spirit of John Blutarsky lives on. But still, MINDBLEACH! PLEASE! MIIINDBLLEEACCCHH!

    oh, and welcome to Defiant.

Sorry if I haven't spotted this yet, but are you US, Canuck, Aussie or from the Best Bloody Country On Earth (Kiwi)?

    Gravity Storm

Many, many of your key Grav/Storm powers and combos will achieve this.

    My slots:
    WORMHOLE: 2xAcc, 2xDisDur, 2xRchg

    GDF: 3xAcc, 1xHold, 2xRchg

    CRUSH FIELD: 2xAcc
FREEZING RAIN: 1xAcc (for the knockdowns), 3xRchg, 1xSlow

As the man says above, Crush Field + Freezing Rain = PatchOfDeath. If your GFX card can handle it, add in Snow Storm for practically a total lockdown.

And of course, you can Wormhole any fleeing minions who escape back into the PatchOfDeath. Particularly good when you can corner a bunch of them against the scenery.

    HO Swap

    Best. Misread. Thread title. EVAH.

Coming to Channel 4 in the new year...
  20. DreamWeaver

    Gravity Storm

I run on Med Char and Low World detail with particles set very low, and it still screws me up every time someone uses it.
  21. DreamWeaver

    Gravity Storm

Revision following I8: dropping Snowstorm because of the massive visual lag it creates.

    So new build is...

01 Lift (still prefer it to Crush, as with AirSup you can keep an enemy bouncing up, down, around and off the walls. Which not only good for stopping them attacking you, but visually entertaining)
    01 Gale
    02 Grav Distortion
    04 O2 Boost
    06 Propel
    08 Crushing Field
    10 Air Superiority
    12 Swift
    14 Fly
    16 Freezing Rain
    18 Health
20 Stamina (boy do I love stamina)
    22 Grav Distortion Field
    24 Hurricane

    ...and planned thus far...

    26 Wormhole
28 Thunderclap (A Disoriented enemy ain't doing damage)
    30 Steamy Mist
    32 Singularity
    35 Tornado
    38 Lightning Storm
    41 Power Blast
    44 Temp Invuln
    47 Power Boost
    49 Conserve Power
  22. Yep - they all currently use the standard Bauer And Drescher Multi Operation Firing Ordnance rifle. Aka the "Super Soaker".

Selectable rifles are rumoured to be coming in if Weapon Customisation ever hits Live.

Style pointers aside, MM isn't for everyone as an Epic set.

    - Body Armour is slightly weaker than the other Resist powers, but is an Auto power (costs no END, can't be detoggled).

    - Cryo Freeze is superb. Get it, slot it, use it.

    - Sleep Grenade... highly unreliable and may cause as much aggro as it saves you.

    - LRM: superb sniper-ranged nuke - knock enemies down like ninepins from half a mile away.
