Villains should have apathy not empathy. Though I don't think it would be a useful set

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would have thought Villainous Empathy was "Emo?"

    [ QUOTE ]

    Level 1: Aura Of Gloom
Repels foe and friend alike from caster's immediate area. Exception: other Emo users, anyone wearing black. Minor DoT (Negative)

    Level 2: Papercuts
Single target, minor Sonic damage, -ACC, -Perception target sees strange visions including self-body distortions.

    Level 10: Glassjaw
    -DEF, -DAMRes, -Normalcy

    Level 16: Venus Doom
Short-ranged Confuse effect causing all within range to fall inexplicably in love with caster. Caster required to wear ridiculous frilled shirts and/or cravates during casting.

    Level 20: My Reflection
Summons dancing ghost. Pretty, yet terrifying.

    Level 28: Black Parade
Does nothing for 1 minute, then summons 15 random underlings for 3-minute mosh, as well as a Lt. level sycophantic idiot from the NME who calls it "the new Bohemian Rhapsody".

    Level 35: Nightwish
Summon Boss-level sonic diva, who devastates all for 5-minutes then starts making absurd demands and storms off in a huff from the rest of the party. Promptly replaced by sonic diva of equal level. Nobody cares.

    Level 38: Disintegration
Causes massive sonic and negative energy damage to all within hearing range, as well as endurance debuff aura signified by baggy jumpers, poorly spiked hair and excess eyeliner.

Yes. By the way, chainmail and piercings do NOT good bedfellows make.

    Important safety tip there, kids.

    Nerf Forum Fridays then?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Only on a Bank Holiday Friday when the moon is at half-point in a leap year, when a strategically placed bucket of blancmange is suspended precariously under GhostRaptor's desk, and I've taken two gold tokens and moved to Barking. (All other lines are in spoo.)

That way it won't affect forum balance too much and people can level as normal.

Er... weird thing, seeing a new ad for a Microsoft game - "Too Human"?

Surely they're not taking ads for rival products?

    [/ QUOTE ]

How is Too human a rival product? Besides being a game that is. I would get worried if it was an ad for DC Online or Champions Online

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's an RPG with online multiplayer capabilities. True, it's not a direct competitor, especially as it's on console. But it's not exactly chalk and cheese...

Good Vin Diesel Movie: Pitch Black.
Simple principle (attack by monsters you can't see, the only one who can see them and therefore save your scrawny hide is probably much scarier than they are). Simple and sharp.

Bad Vin Diesel Movie: Chronicles Of Riddick, Pt.1
Take simple streamlined character from prev. movie. Dump in thirty thousand tons of pseudo-religious rubbish, bring in emo stormtroopers a go-go as your new enemy, pen a script that doesn't quite make as much sense as Star Wars Ep.2, stalk Judi Dench to the point where she's deciding between taking the cheque or the restraining order, blow $110,000,000 on the whole shebang and make $57m back from it...

    *gasp*

...that's really not good for one's career.

There are bus-stops but where are the buses?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Paragon Transit Bus Service has been run by 2005 on behalf of the city by the Shotomaro Corporation of Nippon. Due to the high prevalence of fare-dodging and crime, they staffed the system entirely with ninjas.

Since then, no-one has ever seen a bus arrive or leave. However, people do get to their destinations, quickly, efficiently and safely - they're just too confused or too scared to tell anyone how.

There are no fare dodgers... any more.

To answer your other points - yes, it would be nice to have some more types of maps and places to tackle to give the flavour of a working city, such as shopping malls, cafes, and abandoned spooky old amusement parks. (The cafes etc are there, we just can't visit.)

Plus you should be able to buy coffee insps from cafes (double tall hasten with hazlenut syrup to go, please...)

One of those "specials" involved the liquidation - literally - of the two assassins who killed her parents and framed her for the murder of Dr. Chronotis. In true Marseillaise style, their blood, bones and pureed flesh were mixed with liquid fertiliser and poured out over the fields that had so long thirsted for revenge. It was a vintage year.

    SWG.

It was just about half decent.

Star Wars has many many more fans than either Batman or Superman (and as for the rest, Green who?).

It flopped worse than FFM when his levitation device was hit by an EMP.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Point of order, young padawan:

    - SWG was released in 2003. It was a blessed time. But I was playing over high-compression dialup at first. Broadband availability wasn't great and prices were pretty awful (it's cheaper today than it was then.) So the amount of people who could get a decent connection wasn't great.

    - Then, just as broadband availability hit properly... it was as if a million voices cried out in terror, and were suddenly nerfed.

    The dark times.

    The NGE.

It wasn't just the players from before they lost. If you Googled SWG at the time, DOOM posts on websites outnumbered links to the actual site three to one and took all the top slots, and the Star Wars community is full of card-carrying nerds who would have gotten wind of that foul stench as soon as it was brought on board.

Hell, the fact that we're still talking about it now should be a clue.

I suspect the morality will be based on the outcome of missions. Perhaps you have a choice of rescuing or kidnapping, robbing or recovering, saving or killing? Seems the easiest way to do it.. You have an alignment meter which swings based on the outcome of missions.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I like. All very Batman. (And I'd like the option, as a villain, to disguise any hostages as my minions, so that heroes beat the snot out of them. Now that's what I call STYLE).

So the devs had better get on with getting MY idea in shape.

Because otherwise we'll need some seriously good content to tide us over.

Plus, I can kill them with my brain.

    - Unified world: players can roll any class of toon and start either in Paragon or the Rogue Isles, but can travel freely between the two.

    - How people react to you is based on a "Light Side/Dark Side" meter, and uses the new branching dialogue system. Do good deeds, you get access to more Hero contacts. Do bad things, you lose access to them but gain more Villainous contacts (and the PPD start shooting at you). Also your adoring public react with shock and confusion at your switch to evil/good. Some arcs should require both to complete.

"I don't think we need a bigger carrot on the stick when what we're really interested in here is making an awesome donkey ride."

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would just like you to know how heartbroken and disappointed I am that we've now had at least three to four patches since then, and the devs have not delivered. We've had fiddle-faddling around with power fixes, discussions about shields, but no donkeys. I DEMAND DONKEYS! AND PONIES! AND UNICORNS! AND HARNESS CREATORS! And...

    *cwies*
  21. Personally, I run most offensive toons with at least one acc in everything, preferably two, after L22 (when SOs and full-fat IOs become available). I also usually don't bother slotting DAM until then and go for 3 DO ACCs to keep my ACC rate over 40%.

When you get to doing proper IOs, 40% does seem to be a bit of a magic number for ACC - where "sometimes miss" becomes "rarely miss" except against mobs with heavy DEF. It's also worth collecting IO sets that give good ACC boosts, as two or three in the 7 to 9% boost range can make a really big difference.

Wayne Gretzky (may his name be praised forever) said that you miss 100% of the shots you never take: I say you do 0% damage on 100% of the shots that you miss. So worry about ACC first, DAM later.

    Best new toon?

AR/Energy blaster (proper guns'n'fisticuffs natural hero)

    Rad/Rad def (always handy)

And if you do a Necro/dark, I'll even hand over a decent name... Casanova Funkenstein, reanimating corpses through the evil power of disco
