Quote:ya this. Vent is great and fun and all, and can be great when the whole team is on vent, but closing the chat window and not paying attention to the game is just silly. This isn't a voice chat issue. This is a problem with any person who finds something more interesting then the game they're currently playing. Doesn't matter if it's webbrowsing, vent chatting, sg chat, global chat, phone call, etc. As others have suggested, just make a note in their player notes and kick them from the team.

Doms are really great in Apex for 1 big reason: mob scatter. In the last phase of mission 1 and after battle maiden retreats in mission 2, locking down the mobs immediately as they spawn is the best thing possible for your team. If you're fast enough to do it, (especially in mission 2 where its alot harder to do) you can improve your team's time by quite a bit.
You're also right about not to use controls on battle maiden in the mission 2 if you have melee on the team, especially if at least 1 of the melee has and uses taunt for the -range so that she will come out of the blue patches quicker.
Confuse is great since they're lvl 54s. A confused lvl 54 mob attacking another lvl 54 is like a lvl 50 attacking a lvl 50. Which makes a big difference right now. -
Quote:Sprint is first and foremost unsuppressed movement, which alone makes it worth using.i never use sprint because ninja run is 100x better and sprint feels like an end waster to me
Sprint can hold a stealth IO or a Micro HO if you have full invis already.
Sprint can help you get to the all holy run speed cap.
Sprint can be used with Ninja Run if you're one of those people that doesn't care about speed. -
Great read!
Must spread the word of Mr. Seebs teachings!

Quote:You can't lose with Mind/. Mind/Fire in particular is an extremely powerful combination. NRG got a significant buff and is alot better than it was before, but still pales in comparison to /Fire.So it's been awhile since I've tried a dom. I had a Plant/NRG dom back in the day and took her to around 44 before deciding to delete for reasons of my own. I'm interested in trying a new dom but I have questions on what to try. I don't want to accidently pick some bad/meh combination. Heres the combos I was looking at.
Mind/NRG (Most interested in this. Don't know much about how well they combo.)
Elec/NRG
Elec/Fire
Mind/Fire
Mind/Elec
Elec/Psi
I'm just curious of basic opinions on any of these combos.
I've heard a number of times that people have been liking Elec/Psi alot, but in general I would say Elec Control is pretty meh. Long Activation ST Hold (which is pretty significant for Doms moreso than Trollers), a handful of power that are only partially affected by domination (chain powers) or completely not affected by domination (Conductive Aura, Gremlins), and the set as a whole is generally low damage and more focused on soft control rather than hard control which isn't so great for Doms. -
Quote:My fire/kin/earth troller with the Spiritual Alpha slot sits at 111.3% global recharge (and softcapped defense, capped HP, and decent recovery), with hasten (which is 2 slotted currently, will drop it down to 1 slot with the rare/very rare alpha) which is perma I go up to 181.3%, and 3-4 Siphon Speeds brings me up to 241.3-261.3% rchg. Forcefeedback proc in fissure can juggle me between that and 341.3-361.3% rchg. And if I really feel like it I can pop Geas to recharge cap myself, although at that point it doesnt help a whole lot heh, it's just kinda fun to see the blue 400% in the combat numbers knowing you did it without any outside buffs. It's expensive, but yes.
Just a cursory (and really bad) brute force attempt on a fire/fire dom netted me 153.8% recharge. Outside of Hasten and no FF proc.
Recharge is just under 128 seconds.
Kick Hasten on, and it's recharge drops to just under 107 seconds. Perma.
I'm sure, with a bit more experimentation, I could probably squeeze a few more percent out. I wouldn't make any promises about how effective it's going to be though.
Effective? If anything it can be frustrating when everything you have recharges faster than you can mash buttons, but having everything up whenever you might need it is great, it gives you alot of options. -
So I had no idea there was any anime talk on these boards, I don't know how I missed it, completely oblivious.
That said...
I'm currently watching a few of the "big" ongoing series.. Bleach, Naruto, and Fairy Tail, as well as Kimi ni Todoke and Fractale (which is interesting at least). Although not One Piece as much as my brother has tried to get me into it...
Hakuouki just ended which was absolutely fantastic.
Past favorites have been Fullmetal Alchemist, FLCL, Welcome to the NHK, Hellsing, Gantz, Paranoia Agent, Ghost in the Shell, Darker than Black, Paprika, Nabari no Ou, and Death Note
Requiem for the Phantom, Code Geass, xxxHolic (still need to watch more of this one), D.Grayman, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Mnemosyne, Blood+, Highschool of the Dead, Claymore, Eureka Seven, InuYasha, and Trinity Blood were good ones also.
Cheers. -
The main reason that I used Panaceas for was that I was already capped on 5% rchg bonuses from 3 sets of Obliterations and 2 sets of Red Fortune so I couldnt get the 5% rchg from Doc Wounds, so I had to go Panaceas to get around that, and I /needed/ that amount of recharge to pull off my attack chain. So there are uses for the set, I guess it depends alot of how much money you want to spend, it is the best healing set in the game even in pve.
Though the proc is still trash. -
I have it slotted in my scrapper's healing flames which is up every ~12 seconds, just because I didn't have access to the other Panacea that I needed at the time.
In my experience it is nice when it goes off, in the sense of... "oh cool it went off" but as far as actually being useful or worth the price of the IO... i would say Definitely not worth it -

But so true -
Quote:lolok, my bad on my numbers, i forgot for a second that invincibility bumps mine upto 35-40% in a pack of enemies.
Anyways, leaving that out of it, i still say having a purple io set for every effect would be awesome, and i would love more res and def especially when exemplared, i think there should be 1 purple of res and 1 of def
other bonuses for set numbers (my opinion):
(2) 4% regen
(3) 4% recovery
(4) 7% energy and negative res
(5) 7% fire and cold res
(6) 10% psionic and radiation res
that would be kick butt awesome, then with 4 res powers (using set upto 5 on each and 6 on 1) counting tough; instead of 32% res to energy and neg and fire and cold, i'd be able get 70% res total
i think the def should be similar but defense oriented.
Unique 10% def (all damage types)
(2) 4% regen
(3) 4% recovery
(4) 7% energy and negative def
(5) 7% fire and cold def
(6) 10% psionic and radiation def
bassically i believe if someone is gonna take the time to get expensive superior rare recipies to slot anything it should make-up for anything they are lacking in that category (without maxing out their weaknesses of coarse).
And softcap is 75%, hard cap is 90-95%, 45% gets you killed against av's. -
Animation aside, Ninja Run is a terrible excuse for SS/CJ, just sayin :P

The blueside demon farm was removed from the game a while ago; Harvey will not offer the mission anymore. Either you have the mission on an old toon, or you're SOL. Protip: if you switch alignments to villain on a toon that has the demon farm, you can't get it back when you return to blueside.

Quote:If timed right, the Decoy that the Phantasm summons can hold aggro between Phantom Army casts (I'm sure you know this already thoughWhile, yes, an Illusion Controller with perma-PA can tank LR, it can get a bit tricky . . . that moment when you re-cast PA, Recluse will sometimes refocus on the controller and hit him with a quick smackdown. Two Illusion Controllers can alternate their PA to avoid this, but I have done it several times where Recluse still hunted me down when my PA expired even though the others were out. The best way is to be able to hover overhead and cast PA down on Recluse. (I have done it a few times on all-controller STFs.)
And I wouldn't say that one or two Illusion Controllers is better than a tank. Well, not better than a decent tank. The tank can pull LR around with taunt, and an Illusion controller can't do that.). Even if he goes for you it usually wont be for more than a second when using phantasm decoys, if you get hit just pop greens back to full, and make use of the 1 shot rule, or phase. I duo'd the stf on my ill/storm with a friend's rad/sonic a long time ago, although unsuccessful due to the pets being distracted when he does his final summon at 25% health and losing the dps, it just goes to show how well PA can tank recluse.
Yes, a tank can be more reliable than illusions, and I wouldnt have an illusionist tank recluse if I didnt know them personally to be capable of it. The point is more that there are many more options than using tanks, sometimes more effective, sometimes not, since tank dps isnt that great, and an illusionist is also bringing buffs or debuffs to the team, although that said I'd probably rather have a brute or scrapper do it. -
Just since it seems that everyone thinks it takes a tanker to tank recluse, there are many other options to go.
A high recharge illusion controller makes for a fantastic recluse tank (or 2 illusionists alternating PA). If theyre good, it can be better than having a tanker tank recluse.
Scrappers and Brutes can tank recluse easily with some know-how. This also usually results in a faster run, since you're meatshield is now also putting out high damage.
I've seen 2 different people tank recluse on stalkers. (a Kat/DA stalker and a MA/SR stalker, the MA/SR stalker did it without support too).
I've personally tanked recluse a few times on my fire/kin controller and fire/fire scrapper, hell i think i even did it once on my emp using PA to tank him.
Further, you can opt to completely ignore recluse with a strong team and rush the towers, if your dps is high enough you can get the 2 important towers down in under a minute (the duration of demonic/archmage)
As for Recluse's Bane Spider Summon (other than his finale) just drop a rad toggle (not the -res one mind you, that should be on the tower) on him, or snow storm, or darkest night, or better yet against all odds (or similar taunt auras) works fabulously to hold his aggro and keep him from summoning banes.
Not all the towers are necessary by any means, however on a pug group or with a group of people not heavily experienced in the task, it is definitely wise to take out all 4 towers. -
Emps don't really need defense, to be completely honest. They don't generate enough aggro to really need it.
