One of the better powerset suggestion threads, the set looks very solid while not (grossly) overpowered.
Just keep in mind how powerful -res is as a debuff, it's balanced on sonic blast because sonic does less damage than other sets without the -res, however this set's control capabilities rival some of the best control sets while also putting out significantly better debuffs than any other control set can put out. -
Still laughing over getting avoids green stuff earlier today, even though it was bugged out. Still can't make sundays, but with the 21.5 patch getting those badges should be so much easier, good luck guys

Earth mastery > fire mastery

Quote:Is budget your concern? Cause my fire/cold has perma heat loss with Spiritual, though it is a very expensive build. Spiritual/Agility also makes it easier to perma heat loss thanks to the +rchg (and I'll be switching to agility as soon as I can for the Endmod and Def letting me save a few slots) and it also benefits your other abilities like Sleet and Benumb which you want up as often as possible. My Fire/Cold only has the base slot in Stamina and as long as I have 1 target to Heat Loss off of my end bar never dips, and Fire uses way more endurance than Dark.Spiritual I doubt, since I don't think I'll get 100% uptime on Heat Loss. Agility has promise, but I'm worried about End Burn... I'm only sustainable now with T1 Cardiac. Mebbe increase slot levels of IO's for better percentages/something else? Unlock the Destiny that gives end and then go agility?

I got another incarnate ability to t4 thanks to the increase rare/very rare drop rates.

Fire/Mental
Fire/Fire
Rad/Fire
Your top aoe choices.
Fire/Fire will do the most damage but is also the squishiest. -
Agility or Spiritual is a better choice over Cardiac for a cold corr.
-
Knockdown is actually more effective mitigation Knockback becuase where Knockback is typically followed by everyone chasing each enemy with single target damage since they can no longer be aoe'd, knockdown can be followed up with more aoe resulting in the greatest mez of all: Death.

NEVER did I respec any characters. Ever. I read what the powers are/do/do to you, and then select/slot accordingly.
And, since I never use them, earned or freebies either, I've got something all of my originally 'given' respecs, and a ton of tailor tokens too. So there's that. I think Holiday Kitten might be the biggest user of my tailor tokens...
On the trial, sure, I've done it. I like it just fine as it is, and as been said, if you're that bad/inexperienced at making a character, then you're gonna need it to be a little lighter to get through it so you can respec. -
The Devs already know about the ridiculous amount of wait time in the trial. The thing is (especially now that coh is f2p) it's not going to change because the opinion of average player skill is such a controversial subject.

45% s/l defense fiery aura. Just kill everything in 2 hits and you won't reach the point of having to worry about cascading defense failure.

As others have already said, KOblow is a far better choice than spring attack. If you're looking for more aoe damage the first thing I would do is change your mastery from energy to soul or fire.
Also slot Foot Stomp 5x Armageddon and the Forcefeedback proc, again as others have already mentioned the set bonuses and better procs (and better endredux on armageddon over oblits). -
Quote:<-- had the best tf times across all servers before i20 came out with judgment/destiny/lore/interface and made getting speed records pretty silly, yeah it still takes a good team to break 15 minutes on an itf, but its nothing like it was back in i19 and earlier where the difference between a 15 minute ITF and a 16 or 17 minute ITF was night and day, judgment especially just shaves off so much time and it pretty much invalidated any time before i20 and the real skill it took to get exceptional times. The record now is something like 10:30, its pretty silly.Yeaaaaaah.
Let me put it this way, what's your best ITF time? 30 minutes? 25 minutes?
If you've run it with a good speed team, which is going to be mainly comprised of corrs, your best time will have been under 15 minutes. How do they do it? It's quite simple. Just imagine all of the movements you need to make to get from the start of the TF to the end of the tf, only the ones you need to make, mind, and then imagine that the parts where you fight things don't add any time at all. Doesn't that sound nice?
That's corruptor TFs.

(for reference, back then we usually had more corrs on the teams, but whenever we got a record it was usually fairly random, we never planned for them.)
Mostly just a testimonial to what you're saying, corrs = win -
Kinetics. Whether you choose Corr/Troller/Fender thats up to you (would personally reccomend fire/kin corr or troller, but there are many other things that also work). But Kinetics is what can make TFs go obscenely faster than they would otherwise. Keeping everyone damage capped and SB'd does wonders for you tf time at any level tf.
Lower level tfs will greatly benefit from SB as people will have much lower levels of recharge and many times not have sustainable endurance, and once you get to higher level tfs you get fulcrum shift and you can turn pretty much any team into a steam rolling machine. -
Also there's no reason you can't have all 3 (CJ, Weave, and Maneuvers), 100% of my toons have all 3. And while dark's tohit debuffs are very powerful, it is a much better idea to rely on defense over tohit debuffs, as tohit debuffs are inconsistent and defense is always constant. Get to or close (such as 32.5% with a purple for softcap, or 40% with barrier) to the defense softcap then use your tohit debuffs to do things like mitigate defense debuffs or effectively reach the incarnate softcap (59%). This also means you aren't limited to having to spend time using darks long activating abilities all the time for survivability giving you more time for fire blasting

You didn't list Blaze. facepalm.
Quote:4. Howling Twilight disorients them and slows them also has the largest -recharge in the game
Howling Twilight is -50% rchg
Snow Storm and Distortion Field ties with it at -50% rchg, Lingering Radiation is -60% rchg, Neurotoxic Breath is -65% rchg, Shiver is -65% rchg, Infrigidate is -70% rchg, and the king of all recharge debuffs Heat Loss is -300% rchg. Howling Twilight is hardly the largest -recharge in the game. -
What exactly is your budget, since its not very clear as you slotted some powers very cheaply and other powers you threw purple sets in.

Then please enlighten me? Psychic Blast was proliferated to blasters in i12 before the i13 pvp bust happened. Between i9 and i13 I played a rad/psy defender in pvp extensively so I know as well as you do that if blasters got defender psychic blast at that time it would break pvp (before they would break pvp a mere 1 issue later). The number of forum posts against blasters getting defender psy blast in its current state were rampant.
