This wasn't the same account.
EU accounts and US accounts are completely seperate.
While the Black Market and Wentworth servers are global.
Read the post again...the money was traded from EU side to US side.
Hence different accounts. -
May I suggest going to check out the Black Market for the price of a level 22 call of the sand man acc/end recipe
Low levels are awesome for transfering inf (was villainside EU to villainside US). -

Have the devs made some mistakes? You bet. So do devs in every game. I've seen gloom and doom posts with every change in the other MMO I play. I see tons of gloom and doom posts in another MMO's beta boards (made quite a few myself). It doesn't keep people from enjoying the games and the predictions haven't met with reality yet.
[/ QUOTE ]
For every doom and gloom there's always something out there that's a hell of a lot worse, sure Issue 15 is...well...as one person put it, a small stinky fish that needs to be thrown back (if only for a taskforce and strikeforce mission dialogue rewrite...) and the Issue does seem to lack the 'oomph' factor we (well I anyway) have come to expect from an issue.
Tell you who I feel sorry for...Star Wars: Galaxies...now THERE is a doomed MMO if ever I saw one...the NGE update didn't do themselves any favours and now Bioware (considered one of the best creators of RPGs with awesome stories) is going all out to develope a story focused Star Wars MMO and is essentially something that looks, smells, taste and probably feels better than anything SW:G could throw out any time soon to combat it.
Be thankful we're not in a SW:G situation with SW:TOR looming on the horizon...now that really would be a situation for doom and gloom for any long time players of SW:G...
Or we could be in an Age of Conan Situation, the game got an awful rep (to be fair, it was deserved) at launch and has bled subscribers ever since. While it may have more subscribers than we do...it's not holding onto them very well and it's very hard to shake first impressions even if they totally remade the game people would still stick to what they heard when it came out as a buggy awful mess...
Or worse yet...Hellgate:London (which really was truly bloody awful game...really shouldn't have spent money on it...) which has vanished completely (well apart from Korea, where a company has bought the IP lock, stock and barrel and said it'd never surface again in the west...).
So currently...no...unless somehow Issue 16 is the new NGE, I very much doubt we'll see a sudden and massive loss of subscribers.... -
alright just for you Virtual_Gamer
Times Arrow: Imperious Taskforce
Name:Minotaur calf
Description: Minotaurs of myth are big hulking beasts of unbridled fury. This one just wants someone to take care of it, rescued (or kidnapped depending on your stance on these things) from within Romulous's army, you hope to teach this calf your own values whether they be good or evil...
Really hope a devs sees this and tells me what they think (doesn't even have to be a yes or no on the matter...just what they think and whether it would be feasible). -
Nooooo....
No clearly human pets, think that has to be a rule right there, it goes from the realms of the entertaining into the realms of the downright silly and in the words of Monty Python "We shan't go there...tis a silly place!" Humanoid (like Jack in Irons) is fine, obviously robotic or non-human (such as the AE holo-contact) is fine too.
The reason for the Hellfrost is that the Ice Mistral TF does focus on the Circle of Thorns as a primary enemy (hell the end boss is a CoT AV) so it does make sense...and you already have a floating purply whispy thing in the Nictus Wisp from the Moonfire TF.
A suggestion from the EU forums was that they be account based, a nice idea in that it will encourage people to do things they normally wouldn't do (villainside TFs when they normally play hero) this would also allow you to choose the most appropriate accompanying pet from the word go once earn't.
Right since the kind of guy I am,, making a summary of all the feedback I've gotten.
The pets would be accountbased but you could only ever have one active (summoned) at any one time, they can be dismissed in much the same way as Controller pets (by right clicking and selecting dismiss).

Each Giant Monster will issue there own mini-version as well as those listed from the taskforce rewards.
alright...here goes..more descriptions incoming...please note if we're going this route, the Bitesized Babbage would come from the GM version of Babbage and in its place would be a Pint-sized Paladin (same descripton for the Paladin, will do Babbage's description here).
Hero GM reward pets
Name:Bitesized Babbage.

Name:Kranky Kronos.
Description:Kronos, the greek god of time and Malta's largest Titan. This one isn't quite so mighty, infact its downright miniscule, less a tiny terror and more a tiny toy....it's lack of functional weaponry and it's size has left it with an attitude problem...
Name:Diminished Adamanstor.
Description:Sometimes the summoning of Adamanstor goes wrong, very wrong and this is what happens. A rather miniscule little undead creature who seeks out to devour the souls of small rodents, which are distinctly lacking in Paragons pest free enviroment...it'll give your shins a good kicking through!
Name:Squashling (award from Hallowed Spirit or Pumpkin King/Queen)
Description:Not all Fir Bolg grow up to be big and strong, this one a little Squashling, it sides with you in the hopes that you will defeat the nasty Redcaps, since it's bigger brethren aren't doing so well...
Name:Jack Junior (awarded through the Iron Warrior or Giant Killer badge).
Description: Jack isn't the only giant but this one is less of a giant and more of a pest, some speculate it could be one of Jack's loathsome offspring...though nobody quite knows who or what would want to mate with Jack...
Name:Cute Kraken.
Description:Alright, it's not cute, it's a small green hydra that likes to vomit on things...but you're it's parent now you slain the mommy, so look after it, even if it is ugly....(As not to be confused with the Hydra spawnling, the Hydra Spawnling will be a miniatue Man O' War which is red in colour, while obviously the Cute Kraken will be dark green in colour).
Name:Rumblin' Jurrasik Rubble!
Description:This Rubble wants to be just like it's dad, instead it has a toy car on a small stick and couldn't be less deadly if it tried, it's still made of rock mind you so try not to drop him in the water, he'll sink and the car will rust, so don't be mean!
Villain GM reward pets

Name:Frozen Frosty (Frozen Fury badge).
Description:Guess this member of the Winter horde really couldn't take the heat...it's nearly melted away to nothing, probably should stick it in the freezer...

Name:Handsome Holo (male).

Name:Comely Contact (female).

There think that has covered all the feedback I've had so far, also the Miniature Malfunction Forcefield Projector for the Silver Mantis TF would be replaced with....
Name:Jury-Rigged Jumpbot.
Description:Not quite upto the standard of the Sky Raiders, perhaps one of them built this in their spare time, either way the little robot has taken to following you, perhaps it's malfunctioning...who knows...
So we good...can someone send a Dev this way to see what they think? -
Sadly Lusca just wouldn't make any sense for a mobile non-combat pet that's summoned out of water.
In order to stop people becoming a one person zoo with the non-combat pets I'd think them be a mutually exclusive toggle (you can't have more than one pet around at any one time). -
Hmm I would prefer to keep some (the ones mentioned) as taskforce rewards, since they're something just beyond merits as a reward for it.
Random recipe drops one I would like to have drop at the same rate as costume recipe drops, I wouldn't want them to become the next big expensive item (lord knows how much I shelled out in gold for certain pets in WoW though...think the most expensive was 1000g, considering you could train for epic mount raiding and buy a mount for that, it was expensive).
Perhaps, as suggested, a plethora of ways of picking up non-combat pets.
Taskforces/Strikeforces award the ones listed.
AE tickets grant you a little holocontact.
GMs award each player their miniature versions.
Random recipe drops...hmm what ones could we include in random recipe drops.
My main problem is if (big if) the suggestion was taken up, I wouldn't want to flood people suddenly with non-combat pets. -
Mini Hami isn't hard, infact it's already ingame as the Hamidon Bud (not used since the Hami revamp). Mini-lusca would be...erm..problematic to say the leasts.
Actually using AE tickets is quite a good idea, that way a major explanation like the ones I've made wouldn't be required, it could use the standard Vet power description (You summon a solid hologram of X, it follows you around, it's great for parties). -
[ QUOTE ]
I like it *as long as you can dismiss them*. That is the ONE thing that I hate about the other non-combat pets, that they hang out with you regardless of whether you want them there. Hell I'd like to be able to select summoning and dismissal emotes too!
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh of course, these pets would be dismissable, more like a toggle power (that uses no endurance) and would disappear when detoggled.
I actually quite like the idea of giving them as a Merit reward option, don't make them too expensive, say 10-20 merits but then I want these to make something more tangible out of certain Taskforces/Strikeforces than simply merits but it remains a nice option.
Sadly we can't yet make selectable emotes for summoning them but I would suggest for certain pets have a different summon (The three demons use the Cast costume change emote without the puff of smoke, the Robotic ones use the MM robot summoning and so on).
Glad to see some people like my idea -
Also in the article it states that the troll mutation is only through 'long term abuse' the change isn't instant and by long term I'm assuming a period of six months or greater before any changes kick in.
[ QUOTE ]
then anyone else who took Superadine would show signs of heightened intelligence before they actually "went Troll". Outcasts, Skulls, Hellions, et al. haven't really been shown as more intelligent than normal and they're all 'dyne hounds.
[/ QUOTE ]
Skulls don't take Dyne, they sell it, their powers come exclusively from the Dark Arts they're taught by the Petrovic brothers (the as yet unseen leader of the Skulls). Hellions have nothing to do with Dyne, infact they're not even part of the Dyne Cartel (which is Family, Trolls and Skulls). They're on the opposite side of a big gang war.
Hellions, Warriors and Tsoo are part of a cartel which specialise in smuggling and the abuse of powerful arcane artifacts.
The Outcasts get their power through their mutations, not through Dyne.
-
Taken from the article on the main site about Trolls
[ QUOTE ]
Trolls believe strongly in survival of the fittest. The junior members are known respectively as Trollkin, Jutal, Gardvord, Ogre, and Caliban. The highest ranking Trolls have mutated into grotesque abominations they have horns, bulge with oversized muscles, and are relatively sexless.
[/ QUOTE ]
Admittedly this HAS changed...I remember them saying that the Superdyne actually changed women to be indistinguishable from males at any level of mutation.
However in this light it would appear only higher ranks, Supa-Troll, are sexless.
For all your Troll based needs -
Right you get a selection of Non-combat pets as the 36 (3 year) vet reward, so we know the game can do this sort of thing (I'm not including the 'buff pets' that veterans get as a later reward as these could fall under the catergory of combat pets since they do provide a buff).
When I played World of Warcraft I was something of a non-combat pet collector (verged on 70 overall, including ridiculously rare ones, I went more out of my way for those little critters than any piece of gear I ever wanted) and wouldn't mind seeing them as a more tangible reward to some of the Taskforces/Strike Forces within the game. I'll run down my suggestion for each individual Taskforce/Strikeforce and the pets name and power description. Some Taskforces/Trials wont have a pet reward, both to keep the numbers down and only when it makes the most sense.
Hero Taskforces/Trials
Fall of the Clockwork King: Synapse Taskforce
Name:Bitesized Babbage.
Description:A completely unterrifying version of the monstrous Babbage, found as a plaything for the Clockwork king to amuse himself within his lair, it decided it prefered its chances with you after the mechanical menace fell and you've not had the heart to give it to DATA for study.
The Kheldian War: Moonfire Taskforce
Name:Nictus Wisp.
Description:Too small to be of any harm, it hovers around you, perhaps waiting for a moment of weakness within which to try to merge, you're keeping any eye on this thing, unfortunately you can't seem to find any tangible way of getting rid of it apart from shooing it away for a while but it always comes back...
Citadel's Childen: Citadel Taskforce
Name:Zippy Zenith Hoverbot
Description:First of the two prototypes designed as a cheaper alternative to the much larger robots but rejected that the miniaturised parts actually costs MORE to create. It never had it's weapons activated but it has designated you as it's operator and owner.
The MegaMech Cometh: Ernesto Hess Taskforce
Name:Miniature Mark II Zenith.
Description:second of the two prototypes designed as a cheaper alternative to the much larger robots but rejected that the miniaturised parts actually costs MORE to create. It never had it's weapons activated but it has designated you as it's operator and owner.
Sewer Trial
Name:Hydra Spawnling.
Description:Perhaps a young offspring of the Hydra, perhaps something else, you can't be sure but you were there when 'it' hatched and it now calls you it's mother.
Eden Trial
Name:Crystal Titan Shardling.
Description:Smaller than the standard Crystal Titan Shards it looks up to you as it's protector, shattered from the main consciousness and driving force of Devouring Earth it seems to follow you as it's new hivemind.
Villain Taskforces/Trials
Beast beneath the Temple: Virgil Tarikoss Strikeforce
Name: Hordling Lasher.
Description:This Demon respect powers and considering you've subdued Bat'zul, you're clearly the most powerful thing around, it's siding with you for safety.
Pirates of the Sky: Silver Mantis
Name:Malfunction miniature forcefield generator
Description:Unfortunately this Forcefield Generator has had some of it's circuit scrambled, it thinks you're the Engineer that built it and isn't powerful enough project a forcefield. Sad little thing really...
Temple of the Waters: Operative Renault Strikeforce
Name:Cute Coral Guardian
Description:While the idea of hanging around something 'adorable' probably isn't something you'd like you just can't get rid of the damn thing for long, smash it and it reforms, shoo it away, it comes back and dropping the thing into the sea just plain won't work...
The Crystal of Serafina: Ice Mistral Strikeforce
Name:Mildly Melted Hellfrost
Description:Not quite the demon it use to be now that you've crushed it down to size, like all demons it respects power and has sided with you to further it's own rather ambitious (for it's size) gains, though it won't be threatening anybody just yet...
Respec Trial
Name:Impetious Impette (Succubus model)
Description:Power begets power and now your powers have changed and improved this little imp is going to make sure you put this stolen power to evil use, after all, it was from her summoners, the Circle of Thorns, from which you stole it.
Co-Op Taskforce/Strikeforce
The Lady Grey Strikeforce/Taskforce
Name:Hamidon Bud.
Description:What remains of the weakened Hamidon you fought in The Abyss, it's rumoured these globules of goo could grow back into a full sized Hamidon, best keep an eye on it then even if it does seem to be following you around...
What do people think (spent quite a while working on this) and what would your suggestions be? -
They really do need to fix this, Honoree, Statesman and now Reichsman all do this...
for gods sake stop with the 'lolethal/lolsmashing' thing that keeps going on...
As I said in the feedback thread for the new TF, cap any AV/Heroe that uses Unstoppable at 90% Res to Smashing/Lethal and 70% Res for everything but Psi...essentially more like the player version, they're already big bags of HP with abilities that can nearly one shot someone if they get unlucky (looking at you Zeus's lightning!).
Lord Recluse in the Statesman TF is a good way of making an AV tough but by no means impossible, he's unkillable while the towers are up but once they're down you're past the hard part of that fight but that doesn't mean he's not an AV with hard hitting powers and the ability to summon a crapload of help. Don't make the hardest part the last 10% of the fight, by that point the battle should already be so close as to call it a victory. -
If I were Capcom...I'd be on the phone to the lawyers with regard Reichsman.
He really is M Bison in all but name...even his powers are the same kind of flashy blue flame/lightning that M Bison uses...
All he'd need to do would be to yell "PSYCHO CRUSSSSHHHAAAA" during one of his attacks and the lawsuit would already have been filed.... -
Hmm did a run on the EU servers to get a friend the Archvillain badge that he'd been trying to get for the last six months, every LRSF he'd been on had failed.
So I decided to build him a team, myself as my Bots/FF Mastermind, he was an Elec/Elec brute, Thugs/Dark Mastermind, a thermal corruptor, a Cold domination corruptor and two stalkers (which I can't remember their sets) and this was a spur of the moment PuG grouping through the badge channel on union.
No nukes, no shivans, the elec/elec was tanking. We used the 'charge in and see' approach for the Freedom Phalanx, managed to take down Numia, Sister Psyche, Synapse without any buffs but vengeance then took down the rest of the FP the second go around. -
Hmm another interesting point
Diablo 2 had a 'heroic' necromancer as an option, the special class specific AT dialogue from certain characters you meet normally treats them as highly suspiscious.
However, the Necromancers merely have a different view on things as shown in their background.
[ QUOTE ]
From the steamy recesses of the southern swamps comes a figure cloaked in mystery. The Necromancer, as his name implies, is an unseemly form of Sorcerer whose spells deal with the raising of the dead and the summoning and control of various creatures for his purposes. Though his goals are often aligned with those of the forces of Light, some do not think that these ends can justify his foul means. Long hours of study in dank mausolea have made his skin pale and corpse-like, and his figure is skeletal. Most people shun him for his peculiar looks and ways, but none doubt the power of the Necromancer, for it is the stuff of nightmares. They are Priests of the cult of Rathma that hail from the far Eastern jungle. They live in a vast underground city in these jungles where they can pursue their arcane magic. Through the teaching of Rathma and years of research, they understand and hold sacred the delicate balance of life and death and protect it with their life.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Necromancer is certainly the anti-hero out of the bunch. However we must remember the world of Diablo has a very different mindset to that of City of Heroes. It's more of a 'do what you must to destroy the demons infesting our world'. -
Now I know this is completely impossible and probably has balance issues up the wazoo but rather than just a powerset but a whole new type of AT with only ONE powerset (reasons explained later) basically a shapeshifting powerset.
Now everything about the AT would be middle of the road, medium damage modifier (probably using scrapper for melee and ranged damage along with calculating things like Tough/Weave, Leadership pools etc.), medium HP and would completely lack an inherent ability, as to not be able to outshine any other AT in one specific area. The powerset level listing is something thrown together quickly for demonstration purposes and not intended to be a balanced suggestion.
1) Personal attack.
1) First form slot.
2) Stealth/Hide (represents hiding by shapeshifting).
6) Mez Protection Toggle (offers half the mez protection of Scrapper/Tanker etc. toggles).
8) Mild regen effect power (Shifting your body to heal wounds faster, about the same level as Health + Fast Healing).
12) Second form slot.
18) Utility power (probably a confuse or placate).
26) Third form slot.
32) Fourth form slot form clickie.
As you defeat foes each form slot can be assigned a specific mob form, the tougher the form, the more defeats required. 5 for a minion, 10 for a lt and 15 for a boss (numbers made up on the spot for example purposes only). The fourth slot would be an acception, any defeated mob can be put it that slot from minion to AVs and even GMs however it only has a 1 minute duration with a long recharge.
Each form (except the 4th) is a mutally exclusive toggle, like Granite in stone armor, you can't run other armors while it's running, you couldn't run more than one slot at a time. Each toggle could be slotted for acc/dam/end/defense/resistance. Selecting the 'form' for each slot would be a drop down menu of the available forms and could be altered at will by going into the enhancement screen, the characters model would be replaced ala the Halloween costume temp powers.
So your first slot could be a Damned Hellion boss with access to the powers they have.
So the shapeshifter would have access Flares, Fireball, Fire breath, Scorch, Incinerate and Combustion with a mild resistance to fire, effecitively turning them into a squishy fire/fire blaster but without defiance or the blaster ranged damage modifier. The enhancements slotting into the toggle would affect the powers used (so slotting 2 acc, 2 dam, 2 end would increase the accuracy of all the forms powers, increase the damage of all the forms powers and decrease the endurance cost of all the forms powers).
The second slot could be a Freakshow tank and decide to 3 slot it for Resistance giving them around 50% resistance to Smashing/Lethal, 60% resistance to cold but still suffer the -30% energy resistance. They would also have access to the powers. Sawblade, Tank Grenade, Cybernetic hammers, Handclap, Dull Pain and Revive.
With the 4th clickie, you would gain all the powers (including the Purple Triangles and AV/GM level resistances) however the damage modifier would still be in effect, you couldn't HIT as hard as a real AV/GM but you can do everything else just as well, so you'd regen like an AV etc. You can do things like slapping an AV with a mag 100 Soul Storm hold, this is why it only lasts a minute (explanation that it would be far too taxing for the Shapeshifter to maintain such a powerful form) along with an endurance crash after the 1 minute duration and would have the same standard recharge as say Unstoppable.
By now it should be obvious why it's a one power set AT, the primary powerset, with the forms, can function as both a primary AND a secondary.
Anyway...that's just my incredibly crazy idea and I know it's so unlikely as to I'd have to personally wander over to the Paragon Studios office and pay all 50 devs $500k each for them to even consider it (there's 50 of em...so $25 million in total). -
Indeed Richard Garriot.
Many of his games you play a shameless author insertion of Richard Garriot, being told to go on a quest by another author insertion of Richard Garriot and eventually end up with a party full of author insertions of Richard Garriot...
This joke is shameless stolen... -
Actually what Inokis mentions HAS been achieved.
With Wrath of the Lich King, they had what was called 'phasing' introduced.
Let's say I've just gone into a new area, now I'm going to help out Faction A to clear out the area and make for a safe staging ground into enemy territory because it means a new flight path would open up and I need to level through questing anyway.
When I arrive, the area is filled with unfriendly mobs in the midst of battle with Faction A, as the questline progresses, while at first there's very little in the staging ground, just a single named NPC and a load of guards, after doing a couple of quests, Faction A begins to gain a foothold thanks to my actions, a few vendors pop up, an NPC I saved becomes a quest giver...
As I continue to progress through the questline, Faction A eventually gain enough of a foothold to have a far far stronger presence than when I arrived, a flight path opens up, the area is now secure with no unfriendly mobs in that area and guard NPCs regularly patrol it.
Now let's say another player comes into the same area, while I see the final product of the questline, they will still only see the original starting version, they also won't be able to see ME because I'm 'phased out' with that version of the area, once they complete the questline, they become in the same phase as I am, thus can see me.
So what he's suggestion isn't beyond the realms of imagination, also phasing doesn't appear to put any new strain on the servers, I never noticed any lag or even any slow down when operating in areas that used the Phasing technology, even when said Phasing technology had an entire settlement appear after a long questline and the area was full of people (and I do mean LOADS of people, 100+ amount of people). -
Glad people are enjoying their cuteified avatars, you may thank me for bring Psygons City of Cute to your attention by displaying cute avatars!
Seriously Psygon has been inundated with requests, so if you make your request, remember these are completely free so there is a waiting period! -
Can confirm they're very much more easily available and for fairly cheap as well. most I paid for one recipe was 3 million inf and that was at the 'I WANTS IT NOWZ' price.
-
No he means like the Katie Hannon TF where Mary Macomber keeps respawning but she respawns a level higher each time, or The Magic Man fight from Mary Sheldons arc where he keeps returning.
Sadly there is no way currently to have a boss do that since we're not allowed multiple ambushes set to the same item (Boss defeat or glowie click) we can't link ambushes to the defeat of another ambush either sadly. -
There is also the other problem with regards feedback, you may have actually gotten it BUT it may have come from the EU side of things, currently the transatlantic comments aren't making it through sadly
-
Don't worry, it's just the way things are, mine constantly bounced between 4 and 5 stars over the 14 plays it's had so far.
It is stupidly hard to maintain a 5 star rating past probably 20 plays as mentioned, if you do somehow pull it off, you're golden but I'm content with my 4 star rating at the moment, it means I'm not the best but it's still a pretty good arc. -

Ok just done your arc since I didn't realise that were suppose to critique someone elses arc first then post our own.
Overall loved the feel of it, good use of the Luddites and the contact had very well written dialogue, there was one major fault with it though, all the Slayer faction are listed as 'All Custom Characters' faction, you'll need to sort that out but otherwise 5 stars

Ok post my arc up for Critiquing, it seems to be bouncing between 4 and 5 stars with 14 plays so far.

Description: You're new in the Rogue Isles and your broker is some way off offering you that elusive bank job, however you hear about someone looking for new talent for a bank job of their own...
