Sadly the chances of seeing it are slim to none if past dev comments are anything to go by despite it being one of the most requested things.
I'm not expecting the entire Council/5th Column Mekman outfit or even complete NPC outfits but just a couple of signature pieces that each one has, like the Crey Agent earpiece and robotic hand.
Sadly unless I wander over to the NCsoft studios and promptly dump a large sum of money on their table for it's developement I doubt it's going to happen. -
A costume pack called 'Enemy mine'
Basically it would have a large number of costume pieces used by signature group (not signature character) NPCs.
Carnival of Shadows mask and Bustier, Freakshow chest detail and arms, 5th Column/Council helmet and chest details and so on.
It would be a huge costume pack which focuses on bits and pieces rather than entirely themed costumes, due to the amount of costume pieces in it there would be no emotes or special powers. -
Quote:A Scotland booster pack, the Bagpipe playing walk toggle, the kilt lift click power (causes Fear in a cone effect), Scottish flag cape and a better selection of traditional highland dress.I want this as long as it is accompanied by /em kiltlift.
And you can't beat the sound of the pipes and drums!
Of course it'd be unbalanced because any character that's scottish somehow instantly becomes tougher than any other character plus the mission giving contacts would only have one line of dialogue...
"I'm sorry, I can't understand a word you're saying could you repeat that?"
...thus would have a hard time getting missions since Americans apparently have a hard time understanding a thick scottish accent, even the Brits like meself have trouble with a particularly thick scot accent. -
Actually, if it could be a different walk toggle where your character pulled out a set of bagpipes and started playing Scotland the Brave and walked forward while playing.
Tell you what I don't know what Emperor Cole would make of a large group of Resistance heroes being led into battle by the sound of the Bagpipes...
...well I do know...he'd and any of his men would terrified...nothing like Bagpipes and kilts to scare the hell out of people who have never seen/heared them before.
Some people say the sound of Bagpipes is unsettling...personally I love 'em. -
I wasn't saying that Nemesis was a mutant...merely that his existence predates the second opening of the well of furies which means that it's not just the well which allows for superpowers to become available.
What I think is that the well merely allowed superpowers to go from being once or twice in every generation to lots of people in every generation.
Though it seems the only happens while the incarnates are still alive, since once they die off the well seems to lose it's influence on the world at large and once more returns to Superpowers being a rare oddity.
Every time the well if opened there is an 'age of heroes' such as the time when the Greek myths and legends about Hercules and such, in that universe the opening of the Well allowed them to be real and there's not really been a time since then where so many heroic figures and dastardly villains have existed.
It died down after that age with the odd one or two people having super powers then probably flared up again during the age when the Vikings roamed the world bestowing on their people mighty heroes. This cycle of being found and opened and being closed could have continued throughout history, giving each age their myths and legends of heroes and villains.
It seems the Well and Pandora's box are always found when an 'Age of Heroes' is needed. -
Actually between the well opening in the ancient era (since Imperious is the Incarnate of Zeus for that time period) and the second opening with Marcus Cole and Stephan Richter there is a few super-powered people to crop up.
Giovanna Scaldi and the monk Brother Abelard Vernoux were both mutants before the 'official' explanation of mutants says there were any (Sister Psyche claims that there were no super powered mutants prior to the invention of the Atom bomb...mind you she also claims to be a special class of 'psychic mutant' all her own so the words of the vain are not to be taken seriously).
Nemesis, the Prussian Prince of Automatons is 180 yeards old, predating the rediscovery of the Well of the Furies by a large amount of time.
The opening the of the well just allowed more of these things to result in super powers whereas before they were incredibly rare. Only two or three people out of each generation seemed to have super powers that weren't linked to the dark arts but once the well opened all these people started cropping up with powers from various different origins. -
Fleeting Whisper makes a very good point.
Not all MMOs are RPGs...APB is more akin to a third person shooter than a traditional MMO but has MMO tendancies. MAG for the PS3 (90 vs 90 FPS is by definition Massive, Multiplayer and will require Online). Things don't HAVE to have all the stuff listed by the Crimecraft dev in order to be an MMO. Even things like the Diablo series, which don't have half the stuff listed, could still be considered an MMO.
Crimecraft is awful, to put it bluntly, it requires both a subscription and to buy additional currency in and official RMT format (gold bars, you get a standard amount every month BUT if you want even remotely decent avatar customisation you'll need to fork out). From what I've heard of friends who tried it out for free is that it was like a crappier version of Gears of War 2 multiplayer that you have to pay to play in order to get anything even remotely half decent out of it (and why bother when you could be playing Gears of War 2 online...).
Basically if you want a MMO that's about Cops vs Gangs...wait for APB to come out. -
Quote:Hmm...Ninja Run...Dual Pistols is very Gun-Fu.I will take blame for the walk animations, but the ninja run glory all goes to one of our other animators (same one who did dual pistol animations)
From now on this unnamed animator shall be known as Guru Run'n'gun! -
Mr Ambassador, with these guns you really seem to be getting some headshots... -
Hmm the problem is that 'Natural' really covers a lot of ground, more so than any other origin other than Mutant.
This is a 'Martial Arts themed pack for Naturals' notice how it's not specifically the 'Natural Origin pack' like there is the SUPERSCIENCE! booster pack but a Martial arts one.
I suspect we're probably going to be seeing a couple of themed packs for the natural origin, Martial Arts (which we now have), Army/Police (Modern Soldier/World War 2 Soldier/SWAT style clothing etc.) and Street Thugs... -
Agreed...
You see most of the time I can handle a solo Boss when ToTing when at low level. It's when it becomes Boss + Lt or Boss + 2 minions. So much of the ToTing stuff focuses on -tohit (Ghosts, Vampires and Witches) that if it's a Vampire Lord + Sorceress that your tohit drops to almost nothing with them combined.
You know what I'd prefer...cutting the Zombie and Witch badges down to a reasonable number of kills...everything else is 15 or 20...Witches and Zombies are 50 and 75, Zombies aren't exactly a majorly common spawn thanks to the Streng usually taking their place.
Make the costume badges 10, 20 and 30 while your at it instead of 10, 25 and 50... -
Indeed the female walk has just the right amounts of sexy and sass.
The huge walk is awesome too, very lumbering and looks quite menacing with weapons drawn. -
hehe so you ARE the forum Zombie man.
And yes...got into that Vid as Servant of Rularuu (second in line). -
Purples often aren't the best if you planning on a specific build.
Typed defence for your Invuln or Willpower Tanker/Brute/Scrapper...they're useless since they offer almost no typed defence bonuses other than Psi.
Want to go beserk with runspeed bonuses up the wazoo for your Granite tank? Again they offer very little (though having your Granite + Rooted tank being able to run 15mph means you can also skip a travel power since you can sprint at around 60-70mph with Granite and Rooted turned off).
Defence soft-capping builds also have very little use for Purples since they don't tend to offer much in the way of positional defence either.
However where they come into their own once you've completed those goals, they allow you to add extra 'tweaks'.
They aren't the be all and end all of builds though. -

Quote:Wow...it's like that spider saw a Punk rocker and went "Hell yeah...that look is AWESOME!"
Also, Jumping Spiders are cute, and apparently cute in nature. (Or it's just me): http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi.../Mystaceus.jpg
Freakshow jumping spider perhaps? -
Quote:Yeah but doesn't anything falling down towards the endless sea get teleported into the same communal pool at the center of the building which means there's no way of getting rid of it...Oh god, I've swam in that!
The other option of course, is that they just poop over the edge... I mean, it's all endless sea down there.
...eww... -
Well it had to keep in theme with 'characters from Going Rogue' signatures that both the Resistance and the Loyalists have, unfortunately the only one left was the Syndicate. Still It doesn't HAVE to be working for the Syndicate it can be working for both sides, the more 'extreme' (ech I hate that word in some contexts) ends of the spectrum.
A Resistance member hiring a villain to go blow up one of Cole's reprogamming building and not really caring about the civilian casualties (if they wanted to care...they would have hired a hero) or political scheming within the Praetorian goverment and getting paid to make someone else look bad, since those loyal to Cole would filter word back, it helps to hire an outsider to go and dunk a nun's head in a bucket of acid and leave evidence trailing back to their political rival. -
See this is my inherent problem with the 'villians who want to stay villains will have to join Cole' thing.
Most player villains are pretty much regarded as Chaotic Evil within the game, despite what people put in their Bio's the game treats you as a Chaotic Evil kind of person. You're a mercenary or hired thug at best or downright viscious and pure evil at worst. It's a large step to go from 'do whatever the hell you like, you can even beat up Lord Recluse and have his hat...' to 'you are helping someone maintain order through evil means'.
Of course there is large bones of contention with some of the rather...forced..moments such as Hardcase telling you to stop having fun or he'll get all angsty on you because he's more of an anti-hero than a true villain.
You 'reclaim' peoples bionic organs for evils sake...while they're still living most of the time...so a mad scientist can build an unstoppable engine of destruction to show off to her collegues and go 'isn't that awesome ladies, see with just the right equipment you too can create an abomination against nature...of course with our new found friends I'm sure we're going to get a lot of volunteers'.
Of course that doesn't work out and she has to pay you handsomely to stop it but still...and Doc Buzzsaw's arcs are considered the 'lighter stuff' in CoV. At the other end which delves into the realms of almost melodramatic soap opera evil is Westin Phipps...
So it ain't gonna jive with villains coming from the Rogue Isles being told to 'obey Cole' for the 'evilulz' most proper villains would give him the middle finger and go blow up one of his statues while putting the boot in to any Resistance members they can find. -
hmm can you make the Clockwork gauntlets with that top to see if they sync up?
Would make life easier to tell if they're suppose to match.
Edit: Looking at the back there's a clear 'slot' where the exposed spine is suppose to go which might be part of the Praetorian Clockwork chestpiece OR we may be getting selectable options for the back...dun dun duuuuunnnn -
It mysteriously turned up along with the clockwork gauntlets in Issue 16...nobody is quite sure what it is suppose to be yet but it's probably a foreshadowing for something in Going Rogue...

Hmm do tend to RP in Pocket D until I found myself a nice SG/VG on both Union and Virtue. Still RP in Pocket D on Virtue on occasions.
As for the 'no fighting rule' eh...if both parties are in agreement and things are worked out beforehand then don't see a problem with it in the D, as long as it's taken to a side area.
Found a nice VG, the Widow's Web, it's a tad quiet but it has ongoing plot and organises Strikeforces, been through several VG's but they've all broken up or been deserted except for me.
Thinking of starting up a hero but got no idea (since I've played exclusively villainside) who to ask or what RPSG is looking for members...or even what AT I want to play...
So any busy RPSG's looking for a new, experienced, member...hit me up or atleast someone tell me where to look -
I second the vote for a computer contact in Praetoria, especially if it's done the way Morac is writing it, making it a seperate entity to either side, an independant contact (of which there should be many).
"While I cannot serve the computer, it is a tool for the true freedoms.
No...I cannot accept that the one thing that binds us all together is the computer...the idea is too great, the scope of it too wide, what it could do with it's vast (if highly editable) knowledge, it would know all, Loyalist plans, Resistance plans, it may even know my plans, does it watch me while I sleep?
It would know everything, it would know more than any being could ever desire to know, has the computer really seduced us all?
I must return to my lab and begin making use of notepad and paper again...the computer cannot know my plans..."
And that's how you should introduce the computer as a contact, some paranoid conspiracy theorist making a discovery which almost borders on the level of finally realising that cosmic horrors are truly running the galaxy and that Cthulu lies sleeping, soon to awaken... -
Quote:This is where we Anarchists come in...you see those faceless millions...to be frank, don't matter.I have a question for both sides of this.
I consider a graph. One axis is number of people. One axis is the amount of injustice and suffering.
Just as a graph of engine power is RPM and horsepower, the important part is how many squares are filled in, not how high the peak of horsepower is. THIS shows how usable your engine is under real world conditions. Not just that tiny little powerband at it's peak. A big fat curve beats the heck out of a hyperbola.
It is well known that there is suffering and injustice in all societies. As long as there are people there WILL be injustice and suffering. The government that causes the LEAST amount of suffering and injustice is best.
The question to me is how many squares are filled in in the graph. The Preatorian hyperbola curve of injustice and suffering, vs the fat curve of Primal Earth to me shows that the vast majority of humans on Preatoria have it better than their Primal Earth counterparts.
I mean I know it would seriously suck for the poor people in Mother Mayhem's place, and that sort of thing but......
The sheer NUMBER of people that suffer every bit as much, if not more is far greater in Primal Earth.
The Preatorians may be a sadistic nasty bunch, but the scale of suffering on Primal Earth. Yeesh!
I would propose that Preatoria IS as close to paradise as people can come, and still have people in it. For every poor soul suffering in Preatora, there are 1000s suffering just as much as on Primal Earth.Perhaps 10s of 1000s.
I'll see you your Mayhem's cruelty, and raise you a Vahzilok, a Circle, a Lost, and 2 Rikti wars!
I didn't even to need throw in a Crey, a Council, a Tsoo, or any Skulls, Hellions or Outcasts.
Do any of you truly understand the SCALE of misery that came from the Rikti wars alone? How many wept bitter tears because Nemisis didn't have his head popped like zit on Brass Monday?* How many shattered lives?
There is but ONE forbidden thing in Preatoria, and that is to oppose Cole. Preatoria is NOT totalitarian, but authoritarian. There is an important distinction. Cole cares not what you do unless you plan to challenge his rule.
You can sit on your lazy behind and never starve if you of a mind to live such an empty life. So be it
you lazy slug! There will always be the stupid and lazy. Get fat, and veg out.
My final question would be, other than trying to change who is in charge, what can you NOT do in Preatoria that you can in Primal Earth?
You see the small group that suffers as individuals and thus they mean more to your than the faceless millions. Well each and every one of those millions you discount because your mind can't grasp the scale are induviduals!
*I will close with a quote from Stalin. "A single death is a tragedy, a million is a statistic."

They are sacrifices in a war against tyranny and oppression, the Resistance can't see that and aren't willing to sacrifice the lives of sheep which do not comprehend the price of true freedom.
No, to bring down this Tyrant the use of brute force is required, I'm sure that there's some way of engineering another 'Siren's Call incident', some rogue superpowered element that goes critical, taking a large surrounding area with it. If such a thing cannot be engineered than the next best think, a nuke, would do just as well.
Yes many would die but the world would be better off, the lives of sheep exist merely to be slaughtered by those which will rise from the ashes and lay claim to the wasteland, to fight off their rivals, bury them in the burning sands and stand proud atop their mountain of skulls, proclaiming themselves king.
Humanity thrives in chaos, we have stagnated as a species, we nolonger require the need to adapt or evolve, only through chaos and true freedom can humanity once again make another step, as a species, towards the next part of our evolution. This is as true in Primal Earth as it is in Praetoria but more so in the 'safe' world of Praetoria.
It is too safe, the citizens too complying, living in their quiet lives without much excitement beyond tattling out some minor nusiance of a neighbour to the Police force. There is a dull fear, not a look of terror but a constant nagging fear, that needs to be transformed to a true shock of horror in order to break the citizenry from their pleasant little lives.
We true villains, those that will not bow to Cole, those who will take whatever we want, from whoever we want, shall bring the citizens terror they could not comprehend and we shall say to them that we are the true saviors, not the Resistance. We shall explain to them that their city needs to burn in order for them to be free, if they will not listen, then to hell with them...
Anarchy is the only option! -
Heh...didn't realise it was all suggestive...
Man that girl alone really pushes the boundaries of the T rating on this game doesn't she?
