Even if they slot speed boost with run speed SO's?

even basic SB end recovery and power recharge is awesome

This want my point. I was refering to a mistake some kin players do which is to slot Speed Boost with runspeed enhancers so you basically run past the mobs you wan to attack usually into walls. This happened with one of my tankers on CoH and the defender felt really guilty when I managed to aggro 3 different groups due to having 3 run speed So's slotted in speed boost. -
I will with Dr E Genius lvl 34 Bots/FF Mastermind if its ok

Ok quick note I have played 2 different Dom's to lvl 10, and I have a Dom at lvl 5 and one at lvl 3. On all of these I have noticed that several things are important for low lvls.
1) Get the hold asap
2) AoE controls can be iffy. The Immobs at low lvls are morelikely to cause more aggro than they nulify where as things like the AoE sleep and and confusion are good for negating nasty aggro.
3) I prefer attacks at the lower end over controls as the quick you build domination the better.
4) Soft controls like knockdown are only useful depending on the situation. My two lvl 10 Dom's (fire/fire and mind/energy) both have air supp as there pool power at lvl 6 as I planned on flight for both due to concept. This power is very useful as for bosses it is great but for groups of minions it can get annoying.
5) Address all the targets. This is probably the most important piece of advice I can give. You must plan your attacks by considering what mobs you take out with attacks first which you hold and which you tie up. An example is one against mooks:
3 mooks 2 blckjack and one normal now the plan I decided on was that the blackjacks hit harder than the normal mook in combat so the further they were from combat the better and the normal mook I could deal with by killing first so what happend was the first blackjack was held then the second got a single immob and I then started attacking the mook. As the immob and hold recharged they were applied straight away to the blackjacks as Although it may mean that you have to wait for them to recharge before the next group that takes less time than going back to the mission from the hosp because someone you should have locked down got free and smakced you around.
Just my points based on some limited low level experience you can probably get better advice. -
Possibly bridgers private SG?

I currently have a dilema in Co* as I would like to start to roleplay more however I am not sure about the best way to go about it and whether the styles of roleplay here are ones I can cope with and if so which one would suit me best. As a result I am wondering about rolling a couple of alts on union now I have my second game account (24 chars per server for me
).
What would be the best way to get into roleplaying and can different groups with different styles let me hang around at one of their meets to observe? I have done a bit of tabletop roleplay as well as some roleplay on everquest but I wasnt keen on the everquest stuff so it put me off slightly when I first joined the game.
So before committing to doing something with a certain group that I may not enjoy I would like to observe and maybe try out a bit of roleplay on Co* would anyone be willing to take me in and look after me? -
If anyone is arranging to do any strikeforces on the 5th of feb can they please send me a tell as I have a lvl 34 MM who desperately wants the badges. May even arrange to be on all day and night if I get to do all 4
Send a tell to either @Dr E Genius(this one preferably but I may be on the other) or @Cryo Unit Mk VI -
Zap's posted his build and I like the look of it but I thought I wopuld post mine for a bit of comparisson. I dont have any attacks so rely on my bots for damage but with all the support powers I have I can currently solo missions on the second highest difficulty without losing any bots unless faced with a very nasty boss which is what detention field is therefor at 35. Currently lvl 34 and it is very fun. Heres the build please ignore what lvl I took some of the slots at as I am not 100% sure what I slotted when adn this is a respec build anyway.

Quick question how end heavy is your secondary?
I have a bots/ff MM and he doesnt have stamina even though I do run 3 toggles - assult, tactics and dispersion bubble as well as using forcebolt, aid other, aid self and repair when needed. I wouldnt be suprised to see that you couldnt get rid of stamina especially as you are leaving it so late in your build.
I have teleport as a travel power and dont yet have hover I only find the need for hover when trying to locate glowies that dont glow or the named boss in large outdoor maps which I havent found that common. The only other reason I would have to include hover is to type while traveling but you can get around that if your careful. -
Is it possible to do without accuracy enhances in a build for pvp and pve if running targeting drone and tactics both 3 slotted with to hit buffs? Aim will also be up as often as posssible to help so would this be viable?
The build is an elec/dev build so feasible without accuracy enhances? -

Aparently hunting parties arnt needed. They reckon a couple of teams could do it as you just have to clear the nerva spectrals on thorn isle. But anyhow, depending on when it is Ill come if someone with lackey me
-
Is it feasible to make a dominator without a travel power? As the only pool power I can fit into the build is the fitness pool so would it be possible to make a Dom who only travels with sprint and swift? Or would this just be too hard?

Turtle Shell
Required Powers: Personal Forcefield
This is a fairly cheap tactic, but effective. Essentially, you constantly stay inside of a PFF and command your henchmen from relative safety. The henchmen lose the benefit of Supremacy, any other buffs you have and you will be unable to summon more. However your opponent will invariably be targetting you, and not your henchmen allowing for some fairly risk-free damage. Best done post-Single Origin slotting, so that your henchmen have enough innate damage and accuracy and possibly with Aid Self/Heal Insps, so you can keep on top of any damage you do take.

This tactic is not recommended when there are a lot of controllers around. Controllers with auto hit knockback like this alot. When using this the nuber of times I have ended up in a corner being bralwed to death is annoying.
Using Bots as turrets
This is a great tactic for bots MM's as you set all you bots to stay aggressive near a corner. Then tp foe some one into the corner and they usually end up staying there due to kncokback. if an /ff MM you can help keep them pinned as well. This works best on people without status protection like balsters. -
As a Bots/FF MM I am getting really annoyed with the length of time it takes to fully buff minions. I understand that this is the deliberate weakness in the set but it is getting very tedious. What I would like to see is a change to at least the lvl 32 power (I can cope with the lvl 6 power just about).
My suggestion is to turn the lvl 32 power into a mini nova like power. Basically what would happen is that when you click the power it will buff all your summoned pets that can normally benefit from the buff, however as a downside it uses 50-75% of end and takes twices as long now to recharge. Also it stops end recovery for 10secs. This would mean that it is quicker to get up and running at the start of a mish but if you have to resummon mid fight it is more risky applying the final upgrade as if on low end (which is normal when resummoning) you will risk losing all your toggles which for me at least is a lot, also you are less likely to be able to attack yourself or buff your pets with stuff after using it. This I believe would get rid of/reduce the wait at the start at the mish, make it less tedious to use but make it more inherently risky in combat.
Opinions please even if it is just to tell me how stupid I am -
If there are any bouncer spots spare, I'll be willing. Or even the special assignment (dont know what Im letting myself in for but what the heck).
Note on patch - it should be on EU test on monday 30th (or thats what usually happens anyway). Doubt it will be on live but never know.
Also its my birthday so can I get a pressie -
Didnt know about the -recharge bit but it annoyed me on my blaster and I obvisouly havent got rid of my prejudice. On my blaster I just kept wishing for something else as the first power ideally caltrops but that was just me.

While */Dark has best roleplay synergy with Necromancy, it works perhaps best with Mercs and Robotics as they both stay at range - making Twilight Grasp easier to use, Dark Fall in use without you getting into melee range and Tar Patch creating a handy barrier between the mobs and your fire team.
[/ QUOTE ]...But why would you not want to be in melee range...?
[/ QUOTE ]
Cause bots and mercs work best at range, hence you want to not be in melee.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you missed MaX's point - given all the tricks in the /Dark set, especially the acc debuffs, it makes it relatively safe for the MM to move into close-range, and Dark is therefore a good pairing with Necromancy. (And it's Shadow Fall or Darkest Night, not "Dark Fall".) You'd have to be careful for heavy AoE groups (Nemesis, etc.), but other than that you shouldn't encounter any severe issues. Indeed, if you plan on taking Dark Servant at 38 or later you'll find yourself moving more into melee range, as that's where Fluffy is most effective.
FWIW, I would never use Tar Patch as a barrier between myself and the mobs - its -Res debuff is best used on the mobs themselves, serving the dual purpose of keeping the mobs grouped as tightly as possible for any AoEs. As a Rob/Dark MM, I tend drop Tar Patch slightly behind the mobs to compensate for the knockback in the Robotics attacks. Each to their own, though.

Ah right I thought Max's point was in relation to the primary's. Not that you wouldnt want to be in melee range with /Dark. So I was pointing out that Mercs/Bots work better at range.
So my thought that Max was on about being in melee range with bots and mercs was because I am an idoit that doesnt pay attention to the arguements -
I have messed about with both up to lvl 5 ie completing first contact.
Trick arrow drove me mad with the initial power mainly because I detest web grenade from thedevices set for blasters. The other attacks are ok but I got fed up with them. I dont take any attacks from my primarys so redraw wasnt a problem.
Poison was fun due to having an early heal which is usful. With poison it would free up one of my pool power choices as on my main MM which is bots/FF I have taken medecin to get more healing ability. So thats one advantage with it, some problems later on are the rez which is not a good idea to use in combat, especially on a brute as they tend to get annoyed by the hold it inflicts on them which can lead to another death.
Not a lot of experience but I prefered poison to trick arrow but thats just me. -

The way I play my SS/Fire brute may not be that helpful as it is only lvl 10 but I have found that the firey aura is great when used at full fury so dont have it on until you have built up fury to about 50%+ as it doesnt help generate fury just drain end. I currently cycle through my 3 quick attacks - brawl, jab, air sup - to build rage and when teaming to get rage I ask the team to leave the toughest enemy per spawn alone unless I am in trouble this way I can get so good hits in to build fury even if its just by brawling.

Little point on prestige is that since I joined ARAD I have earned about 100k prestige in 20 days with my lvl 33 MM. So with your 38 you should be raking in about 5k a day if you play alot which I tend to do so say a month to get the prestige you need for min base.

I got tp when I respeced as I was finding my bots were having problems with some maps so recall friend was needed. Also fancied trying out tp and currently with 3 +3 SO Endreds I can tp the length of nerva (from thorn isle to the hosp) while in PFF and with sprint up with out a problem. Only end problem I have is when running all my toggles. I dont have stamina so if you can spare 3 slots for a travel power get it if not maybe something else. I am also considering fly for PVP as well but that means no tp foe due to lack of power slots.
