Hmm... don't think I'll ever have any use for it. But yay for more options.

Ahem... while it may not "speak volumes" why are there less subscibers now than a year ago?

The animated breasts in AoC probably cost us 35% of the under-21 market in the blink of an eye.

There's animated breasts in AoC?

The playerbase has spoken.
Look out for I14: Bouncy bouncy -

Improvements to Supergroup Bases It's about time! So glad to see this, and I'm surprised noone has been speculating on THIS in the thread yet.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats because its been known for a while. I13 has the unoffical title 'All your base belong to us' according to Positron. -

He did say: (focuses on the important stuff!)

....and the previously revealed Mission Maker....

did he not?!!?!?!?
Please... please where was that revealed, where can I read more about it?
[/ QUOTE ]
That refers to the big player generated content announcement. it was part of the 4th Anniversary adddress -

Uniting the City of Heroes universe enables the development team to focus on other features slated to come in future installments. Improvements to Supergroup Bases and raids, an offline character reward system, and the previously revealed Mission Maker are just some of the systems that will see the benefits of a unified City of Heroes game.

As i said in the other thread about this, i think the bolded part is new. We were told that I13 would contain improvements for bases and also about the PGC stuff, but I don't think I have heard any mention of an offline reward system.
Could we get some official clarification/hints/haikus, please?
Thanks -
Oh, and good job on getting the Vet reward announcements back on track. its good to know what we have to look forward to.

Yay for getting the rest of the preorder helms!
I do have a slight concern about about the extra power though. isn't there a balance concern with Natural origin characters? As in, they will be able to have both ranged attacks, both doing bonus damage, which kind of makes them the 'uber' origin in terms of levelling new characters.
Not saying its going to cause any problems, just a thought. -
I don't remember any details about changes to bases. he said he couldn't say anything about them. But he did say that I13 had been jokingly given the title 'All your base belong to us' amongst the dev team.

Snorii, since it's only you complaining about this, I'd look at your system. Perhaps clear out your web cache and or cookies or such? Try on a different browser?

The image does not display for me either. I have tried IE8 (in IE7 mode) and FF and have deleted all internet files and forced true refreshes but to no avail. Everything else on that page displayes properly. -
Wow, you took one of the best things about the game and seemingly made it better. Yay!

I would like to know where I'm wrong about Ice Armor being counterintuitive of fury, if you have the chance to shoot me a PM so I can correct myself during future debates on this topic.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your only mistake is not adding the words as is
There are plenty of modificatiosn that could be made to a Brute version of Ice Armour/melee to make it more fury friendly. -
To be honest, i'd have much prefered a development history of it. Would be intersting to know why it wasn't originally included in the design, what changedd and when it all happened. Essentially how it went from 'We aren't going to do it' to 'Maybe we should do it' to 'Lets do it!'.
The fictional stuff is rather contrived, because you have to make up a story excuse for something that was done for (I assume) purely non-story reasons. Not thats its bad of course.
and yeah... is it tomorrow yet? -
Sorry to sound negative, because I am sure lots of wonderful work has gone into this, but my first thought was:

There is a familiar threat in an ancient land and the Midnighters need the help of both Heroes and Villains to stop it.

*sighs* Can't Villains just be threats without having to stop them all the time? -
What about if they adjusted all the required team sizes for all T/SFs, and set the min spawn size equal to the number of people required -1 (so its still reasonable to do even if 1 person drops out).
OR
Change the TF system so that if the team size ever drops below the required number of people, the leader would be able to invite new people to fill the team back up to the required number.
So, if a team of 6 starts a TF that needs 5 people to start, and 3 people subsequently drop out, the leader can invite 2 new people to bring it back up to the 5 minimum
That way, you will never get stuck with not enough people to complete, since you can also grab someone else tohelp out. -

I got in by pure dumb luck
I have posted some pics and a demorecord (no idea if the quality is anygood). They can all be found in this post -
Ok, who is starting the book?
5-1 - Recluse attacks during the ceremony
50-1 - Recluse is best man
100-1 - Recluse is best man, Manticore doesn't show up and so he marries Sister Psyche
2-1 - Back Alley Brawler blubs like a girl
4-1 - The hero missions will involve finding the lost wedding ring, that Azuria lost
evens - Its all a Nemesis plot somehow
1000-1 - Hamidon is the flowergirl -
Personally, I think the pack is a tad light for what it costs.

seems instant, you just have to rememeber to go into your account management and activate the code.

Thanks for the Feedback Darkspeed. One item to note, the wedding veil on the current live version 16.200801222.5T2 is not displaying correctly. It should appear as mostly see through, like real lace. The current version is mostly filled in. This will be corrected in a coming update.

Thanks Lighthouse,
But part of me is disapointed. I quite liked the look of the current non-seethrough 'hair cape' version. Can you put in a request to keep it as an option alongside the corrected transparent one (with the proper cape colour options and maybe even the cape styles added). I can think of several looks and themes that it would work well with. -
This is my post from another thread:
Feedback:
I can't find a way to change the interior colour of the bridal veil (hair). It doesn't seem to inherit from cape/trenchcoat interior colour, so I can't even seem to change it that way.
Also, the veil colour should not be linked to the hair colour. and really, it should allow at least some choice of hairstyle, not forcing you to use just the one.
A proper list of the pieces, including what costume options the occupy would be very useful, I have yet to find some of them.
Also, given this is a paid for pack and thus I can be a bit more demanding:
The Tux choices would be much better if they were available with or without the internal waistcoat and if you could change the waistcoat colour seperate from the lapels.
The price does seem a little steep for what you get. I was happy to buy it to support all the hardwork you guys and girls have put in, and to help fund further development. However, adding a little to the pack might help sweeten the deal for people. Maybe throw in some of the other pieces you have lying around from the pre-order/special editions? -

But the executable is the same, right? its just a question of which flags are set and which data you downloaded.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok, so by that definition, all games using the same engine are the same game. Using one .exe I can run Doom, Doom 2, Heretic, Hexen, Hexen's expansion pack, and Strife.
They're all the same game!
[/ QUOTE ]
From one point of view, yep.
However, CoH share lots of resource, the same engine and the same executable. Its really just the account that determines what you can do on it.
The thing is, CoV and CoH are neither true standalone games as is, nor is either of them just an expansion pack. They two incoplete peices that together form CoX. Which I think is just fine.
Now, is it time for Cov to get some new good villainy content? sure thing. In fact, as far as I am concerned the next 2 issues or so could be predominately be Villains content and I'd be happy. And with all the new money and Devs, I feel confident that we will see an increase in content quantity and quality that should be able to to keep most people happy. -

The fact that a person can buy City of Villains and go home and install it, without ever installing CoH.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just a technical point, but its impossible to iinstall CoV without installing CoH, and its impossible to install CoH without installing CoV. They are the same executable.
