I will still get the costume bits, and the stances (what ever they are, sounds exciting) witht he purchase of an upgrade.

I am not sure how it is bad to attempt to make money while running a for-profit business.
My major problem with it is that they should just be clearer about it. If they are going to call it the complete collection, then I think it should contain everything on offer.

Why could they not just post the price they want people to pay if they want everything?

I'm not either, it just seems an incredibly strange way of doing things.

    Backs!

    Also, Symbols on backs!
  4. This does sound needlessly confusing, to be honest. Why can't we just pre-order the complete collection? The 'upgrading' thing seems kind of pointless, especially since people won't be getting the months time with it, essentially making it cost more if you want to both pre-order and also want the complete collection.

Because the content is awesomely fun to play?
  6. I think something like this would be pretty popular
  7. Maybe there could just be a counter? so if you get a costume on say 5 different characters, you get it globally unlocked for all new characters?

That way it is still an incentive to get people to repeat the content more than once, whilst recognising that it does get a little old after a while.
  8. Really, what the CoV side needs are some goodguys to fight. Villains shouldn't be fighting Villains 90% of the time. If it doesn't change, then its going to get exposed more with GR as a hero who used to spend his time heroically defeating CoT, Freaks, Family etc... in Paragon slowly becomes corrupted and eventually, after an epic personal journey, finally falls to the red side, and goes on to villainously defeat CoT, Freaks, Family etc... in the Rogue isles.

    Nope.

The new content may well be linked to Praetoria, though.
  10. One thing I think they said would be in there would be the ability to switch characters without logging out to the login screen.

  12. Oh, another idea for high level Family: Pinstripe Powersuits!
  13. 1) What sort of content will there be for Heroes who go rogue that doesn't involve still beating up Villains (and the odd longbow)

    2) Will there be a satisfyingly significant amount of cool new costume peices (available at character creation, not unlockable)?

    3) Is I17 going to be released in conjunction with GR and if so, what is planned to be in it?

    4) Will there be some cool new auras (and the ability to set the current auras to be comabt auras)?

    5) Whats the most secret extra cool addition in GR?

Also, when can i give paragon my money for GR? Is now too soon?

    Do it!

  15. The obvious ones to expand upon are the legacy chain and Wyvern, since they are pretty much the only non-Longbow/PPD heroic enemies in the game. Villains shouldn't always be fighting other villains, after all.

Thats one of my fears for GR, that they will add a bunch of new villains to fight and forget about adding new goodguys (besdies the resistance, I guess)
  16. Q: How many devoured earth does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A: None. The lightbulb is a perfect example of the destructive wastefulness of humanity, squandering nature's resources in an incredibly inefficient manner. The light bulb shall be crushed and the stain of humankind wiped from the Earth. All hail The Hamidon.
  17. A bit of an over reaction, but yes, its slightly annoying. They should either remove the redirection totally (ideally) or at least fix the flags so they work (and remember your preference)

To get round it, just avoid the actual homepage

go to somewhere like http://www.cityofheroes.com/news/news_archive/ and use the menu links to get to where you want to (including the right server status page)

  19. Yeah, they are all seem fairly obvious

The last part of this one puzzled me:
    Quote:
Bloated life which has not a peer, gobbles all that mankind holds dear, The hive will grow to rise and fall, all will battle the monster tall, Across the way a mirror flow'r, has no such foes slow its devour, Not placated with scraps to eat, it's rage shall spark leader's retreat.
Til i remembered what we know of the praetorian Hami.

I live in the uk, and am employed as a computer science lecturer and self-employed as a web developer, so it looks like I actually can write off a certain % of the price of a computer as a work expense. (still looking into the exact details of how much). I could also try buying it through the University I work for, but although they supposedly get a good discount, you have to buy from their approved suppliers (who generally overcharge for not very good components).

But at the minute still looking around to find the best deal and best way to buy things (pre-built Vs. ordering seperate compontents)
  21. Just out of interest, any opinions on the Geforce 295? I'm looking to build a new hi-spec system (yay tax deductions!) and have seen that going as part of certain deals.

  23. One thing I noticed, if you have both Ninja Run on and then toggle power slide on too, you stay in the ninja run pose for a little while(with the slide colour effect) then switch to the slide animation (but still get the summersaults when you jump, which looks awesome)

Oh, and I really, really, really hope that we will get the summersaults and or ninja run animation as options for superspeed/super jump when we eventually get power pool customisation.
  24. Oh and not sure if it was mentioned, but also:
    • Being able to switch characters without having to log out fully.

Was mentioned as being in the works.
