The enhancements come from a seperate pre-order code, that was printed on the reciept if you pick it up in the store and was supposed to be e-mailed out to people who had it delivered. As of yet, noone has got their e-mails with their codes.

Quote:I'm going to guess that its exactly one person more than the number of people that would jointhe game/be retained because some of the servers had been merged and were slightly busier. And how many people would be so upset by server mergers that they would actually quit the game?
Not based on anything, but hey, why not? -

Pep Streebeck is my all time favourite character name, ever.
-
Ok, we need a Scooby Doo/Saw/Transformers crossover, stat!
-
Yes, the costumes are GR only.
In terms of the I18, the bulk of the content in it are the tip missions, which there are a lot of (plus CoP and the updated heroside Praetorian arcs). -

Quote:It'll be like that til there aren't more people who want to play on the server than it can handle.I'm queued on Freedom, my main server. It's only been a few minutes so far,but I was wondering if this is just a temporary thing while they get GR settled, or is it always going to be like this from now on?
Eco.
In the meantime you can queue, or just make new praetorians on other servers (and use the free server transfers to bring them to your home server later.) -
Thank you very much for all your hard work, Ston3y!

Quote:The old stuff about it says licensed, but if they bought it in the meantime then ok.it isn't licensed, it's owned.
Cryptic got to keep their logo on the game, that's it.
Anyhow, the old blurb says specifically that they licensed the engine for future games
Quote:Cryptic Studios™ announced today that the development house has sold its intellectual and proprietary rights to both the City of Heroes® and City of Villains® franchises to publisher NCsoft. As part of the agreement, NCsoft is licensing Cryptic's engine technologies for use with future games. -
I logged into beta with a couple of characters in that situation, and I got to finish my old arcs just fine.
-
The other thing is, I think the game engine is liscenced from Cryptic (hence the logos still on the game). Whatever agreements they might have in that regards may well have an impact on their future plans.

I remember:
Jose Brogan being 'Broken'
The Bonefire arc being incredibly hard because it had a Dammned and Bone Daddy fighting each other in one of the missions.
When Level 5 reapers would spawn in level 1 Vasz missions.
Having to wait months and months to play the last missions of "Ubelmann the Unknown" (and back then the plot made more sense and was cool) -

I'd recomend Sluggy Freelance

Quote:I don't really think that that is the implication. Its much more likely that they just wanted to do cool looking, flashy animations. And, since a lot of the times that this set was suggested players asked for gun-fu and suggested flashy powers, I think that make more sense. As far as I'm aware the developers have never admitted out-loud that they were not able to come up with 8 visually distinctive animations based on the animation styling as used by the Malta and the Masterminds Thugs. The implication from the expanded Dual Pistols set that the developers were not able to come up with visually distinctive animations, hence pursuing the Gun-Fu look that did allow lots of flexibility to design unique visual effects.
I'm all for alternate animations for dual pistols and every other set in the game. More variety is good. -
Quote:Elemental melee sword/no sword choices.
I want every one of my fire tank's attacks to use the fire scimitar.
I want every one of my ice melee tank's attacks to not use an ice sword.
I second this one.
Also, apart from power pools (obviously)
Maybe some alternate kicks for elemental melee sets? so its not all punching?
Actually, also... any chance of a random animation setting? So the power randomly choose one of the available alternate animations to play? That would be great to help combat look more dynamic.
Also, in the Poison set for MMs, can we have alternatives for the spitting animations? (Envenom in particular) On some characters, having them spit poison doesn't really work. Just throwing it, or even shooting it from their hand or a device would be preferable.
Also, someone mentioned having some more magic oriented animations for devices/traps. I think that would be quite cool.
Thats all i can think of at the moment, but lots of other good suggestions from people here too -
Just got through seeing it and... its weird.
Well, not weird. Almost exactly what you'd expect, really. My friend said that it looks like it was written by a twelve year old, but he meant it as a complement.
Very little story, very little character development but a whole lot of people die. There are quite a few good one liners (One involving Arnold got the biggest laugh in the cinema), good chemistry between Statham and Stallone. Some pretty nice fights too, particularly when Lundgren and Li have a face off. And with all the star power, an automatic shotgun steals the show.
Its marred by some suprisingly dodgy cgi effects at points thoughOh and the poem should have been left out.
All in all, it delivers exactly what the trailer promises. If you saw the trailer and wanted to watch that movie, then you are going to get exactly that. A whole bunch of action heroes spouting one liners and shooting/stabbing/punching/kicking hordes of guards, with everything blowing up around them. -
Quote:So... when the Joker kills a thousand people, Batman insists on arresting him and giving him a "fair" trial.
No, he doesn't. Batman insists on stopping Joker and handing him over to the authorities, who arrest him and give him a fair trial. I'm sure Batman would be fine with it if they gave Joker the death sentance or at least locked him up properly and forever.
Quote:Batman is the only person able to stop the Joker (Cops be gettin' nerfed in comic worlds, yo).
Quote:Additionally, the insanity defense consistently finds the Laughing Lunatic virtually immune to any legal system repercussions. This binds the hands of every Law Enforcement Official in the Bat-verse.
If Batman is to blame, then all those people are to blame much more. -
It was on at 9pm on Sundays, and was awesome but ended on an almighty cliffhanger. Great news on it being renewed for a second series.
-
Not eveyone will know, so I think anything storyline related should be marked as spoilers, just to be safe.
-
Well yes, but thats true of any other number of game aspects. Things like stealth, stats and upgrades, puzzles, platforming, driving/races, on rails shooting, Quick time events, resource management etc... have all been needlessly grafted onto (linear and non-linear) games and made them worse.

Quote:So, people who make games should make good games, as opposed to games that aren't good?I think obviously any game developer has a monumental design decision to make at the beginning of the development process: do they want to build a playground or a roller coaster.
I think that after a while, the open world playground, however, should only be attempted by those with some playground knowledge in the past. Playing a bad open world game is akin to playing on one of those metal steel trap playgrounds kids of the 80s used to cut their teeth on. But get someone who does have a fundamental knowledge of the playground and you get a wondrous plastic playland that's both safe and full of hours of entertainment. -
Quote:I can see the point, in that its not just posting a link, its copying and pasting the whole article, meaning you never need to go to the website that created the content at all. Given that content generation is paid for by people visiting the site and so providing advertising revenue, I'd image that reposting whole articles can hurt the site they come from. You're going to be very busy here if you're going to keep correcting people on their links.
A person finds an interesting article on a site he/she frequently visits. The person posts a link to that article, thinking others here might be interested. The person does not care about further researching the topic, and so does not bother tracking down the original source. If others here want to look into it further, they can do the research themselves. This is quite normal and understandable.
This is not a professional debate society here. It's a bunch of geeks talking about stuff.
