  1. Sounds interesting, but not quite a pure a concept as Touch the Truck
  2. I'll throw in a 'Quantum Leap' into the reminds-me-of List.

  4. True, and I did love the fact that it was Holme's very nature that forced him to take the chalenge, rather than him being forced to do it by threats.

Also, I loved the revelation as to why he was doing all this. It made a lot of sense, whilst simultaneously making even less sense than him just being a nutter.
  5. I'm teaching in china, and its going pretty well

The challenge placed before Holmes is SO much a carbon copy of the same scene in the Princess Bride that it becomes unintentionally funny if you let it. I have to attribute this to the show being a British production, so that "The Princess Bride" isn't the big deal for the British audience as it is for an American audience in which almost all could be expected to be familiar with that scene. It probably felt wonderfully original and apropos to the British writers to have an intellectual duel between Holmes and the killer instead of a physical duel.

Alas, to an American audience, that duel can't help but create echoes of Wesley and Vizzini. It's a tribute to the quality of the program that, for me at least, it managed to rise past that unintentionally comic comparison and keep my interest anyway.
Actually, the Princess Bride is known very well over here. However, personally , since the whole 'one poison, one safe' pills thing was in the original Study in Scarlet, it was perfectly fine to include such a scene.
  7. Yeah, paying a boxed expansion every for issues nope. But having a boxed expansion, say, every 18months - 2 years, with issues inbetween would be acceptable (and even welcomed if they were as good as GR)
  8. I'm all for them just being global unlocks. However, in order to keep more people happy:

Character Unlock: Same requirements as now.

Player Unlock: An accolade that requires you complete all (or a siginificant subset) of the content related to the group the item is from.

    So for the witches hat:

    Character Unlock: Complete KHTF.

Player Unlock: On any one character complete all (or maybe just most) Arcs and TFs related to The Cabal, get all (or maybe just most) badges related to them too.

Essentially, if a Player has played through all/most of the storylines about a particular group, then they have earned the right to create new characters that have some connection to that group (or who just wear items that that group wears)

    Hey Viv,

Sorry to hear about this, but glad noone was hurt. I hope you get everything sorted and back to normal (or better) soon.
  10. I think the sequels should have a scene where Han and Luke discuss how all of the minor characters they met along the way in Eps 4-6 led remarkably dull, uneventful lives and/or died right after they meeting the main characters.

I'm just conditioned that Internet video reviewers are all snark and sarcasm who think themselves witty and clever. like Simon Cowell but without the fear of owls.

Yeah, he liked Howard the Duck, and they are agreeeing with him. Essentially, he brings up parallels between the two films (both based on comics, both had high(ish) budgets and lost money, both were weird yet still tried to be mainstream and failed) and said that Pilgrim will become a true cult movie, and that he really likes the film.

I said 5 (ish) slots though, and are you assuming that I19 won't be part of the I20 beta? if so, how are people gonna be unlocking their Incarnate stuff? I'd guess when I20 goes live we'll have the first half or so of the Incarnate system, given that they seemed to have that far planned out (based on the leak on Test).

DR for Incarnate missions is a possibility, but... not sure how that would work. being an Incarnate makes you weaker than not being one?

Maybe they will call this big system the Incarnate System?

Honesatly, I don't see it being any of the other things mentioned. Changes to PvP wouldn't be a big deal. I see no reason for DR in PvE due to incarnate abilities, since the Incarnate stuff only works at level 50 and they already have the level shift mechanic to add a form of DR for that.
Its probably 5 ish levels of Incarnate stuff and all the new content, enemies and possibly zone(s) to go along with that.

    Plus some other cool stuff.
  15. Mark Kermnode, my favourite film reviewer, has finally seen Scott Pilgrim, and he has declared it: Howard the Duck 2

Hopefully people outside the UK will be able to see the video.
  16. The whole ip detection thing is kind of a mess. I guess having the legal stuff auto change to be accurate for the persons country does make sense though.

There were a few threads about the difficulties buying the us version when in Europe, and Avatea (I believe) passed the feedback onto the web team, but that was quite a long time ago and its still not working properly.
  17. Because the site is borked? I've bought stuff via this process before (including GR) and it always works fine. (the items are always the us version).
  18. Here it is:

    https://secure.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/St...em&item_id=224

The basic workaround is to go to the euro item page of the thing you want and then subtract 2 from the item number in the url

  20. Just checking, is it one entry per person? Or can we enter each of the three contests? (with different characters?)

    Thanks

Nope, i don't see how that can work. Its in the game, written in character, so its part of the story. You may not like or understand it, but surely if you ignore it you are just making up your own story?

That contradicts the info in the tutorial. It seems our characters can be completely unaware of what the powers division is, what cole stands for, what hamidon is and indeed, not be from 'around here' at all. So, it seems there is no training/indoctrination programme for the powers division, anymore than there is a training programme for people who sign up as heroes in Paragon.
  24. Fingers crossed for windows in missions.
