Quote:This was a great suggestion that was made in the original thread about this, with some people posting some very impressive looking mockups showing how it could work.Personally I would like to see more Head variety but NOT Monsterous heads. They are too rigid. If you make a birdlike face with fethers, then you can have a few beaks in Detail and fethering for head in other Detail. This would allow you to use all kinds of new combinations instead of 1 or 2 new heads.
What is needed for detail 2 is a Snout or maybe heads with Snouts. So you can pick which snout (ala hats) you want on your head but still keep other build options to customize it. Minotaurs? There are a dozen horns already all you really need is a face with a bull snout. I don't know maybe that is a crazy idea. -

Shafty McTwang is probably available on most servers.

Weekly Strike Target
- Every week a hero task force and a villain strike force, or one co-op task force may be designated as the “Weekly Strike Target” for that week. Look for announcement of which Weekly Strike Target is active on the Message of the Day and on the official City of Heroes boards every Tuesday.

Have a look at places where they interview the Devs for this game (massively.com, tentonhammer.com etc...) Presumably, such sites will contain similar info for other games.

This is an awful list, clearly 'Junior Lollipops' should be in the number 1 slot!

Quote:That was me! Yay me!I stayed silent until a player guessed at the mechanics *and* Positron basically confirmed that guess.
Anyhow, I doubt that there will be any reward penalty for using level shift, since there isn't one for being buffed, slotting enhancements, using temp powers or using inspirations. All of those things make enemies easier to defeat but we still get full rewards. -

Quote:Why not ask a friend/someone on the boards to make an arc for you? Tell them the name/powers of your Nemesis and their personality, send them the costume code and then play through the arc they make? Even better, if you do feel like trying the AE, then what about swapping nems with someone else. You make an arc/mission for them, they do one for you. This makes me a sad panda. Not all of us have the time/skill to create full-fledged arcs for our potential nemeses, nor do all of us want to be control of every facet of our nemeses' existence. CoH has always stood apart from others by appealing to both casual and hardcore players, yet the only way to have a true nemesis is to invest time and skills into the game that not everyone has.

Nice interview, no real new info i can see, but the little stat boxes are cool.

Quote:Strangely enough, they included some stats like that in Positrons new interview with ten Ton HammerThey also regularly share random interesting trivia about the world on occasion. I'd find it fascinating to know, for instance, what the most common teaming AT in January was, or which corruptor secondary was the most common for solo players in February.

Oh, and yay for new rednames, letters and future stuffs -
*spoilers*
Users don't need the code to exit, since they are users and can just leave. But programs... not so much.
If you have seen Reboot, and seen the episodes where AndrAIa has to switch her code from AI to Sprite in order to leave the game, or when She and Enzo did the reverse to stay in the game, then you know more or less how it works. Actually, I did wish the film was a little more Rebooty.
Of course, I don't think Clu's plan had any chance of working, even if everything went the way he wanted in the grid. -
All of which goes into spoiler territoy.

Quote:But isn't Hamidon what Hamidon (and the DE) calls itself, since thats his name. It's because of what each society has labeled them... If you are trying to say that Praet Hami is a completely different type of monster, the question for me becomes; Why would two mirrored but separate societies come up with the same name for "different" monsters?
-
How would evolving change the name of the guy who originally became the monster?

Saw it today, thought it was not too bad. The music was good, it looked pretty, the story was... passable. It shared a similar, strangely languid pacing with the original. Though, I wasn't that convinced by the threat of the baddie, that could have been better thought out.
Also, wish our cinema had been showing it in 2D, hate going to see films in 3D. -

The real key to making sense of the New Who is that you must watch "Doctor Who and the Daleks" and "Daleks' Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D." before you get to "Voyage of the Damned"
This is vital to understanding the ultimate storyarc of the new Who, as key aspects are revealed about the true nature of the character portrayed by Bernard Cribbins. -
Been waiting ages for the official trailer, it really is a sight for thor eyes.

Quote:I think reporting the problem, explaining why you see it as a problem and explaing what sort of behaviour you'd expect in the encounter is right and proper and useful.Given that Standard Code Rants < Bug Fixes, the situation should be fixed.
Trying to tell them how to enact that change (or, for example, that its a simple fix and why are they so stupid as not have done it yet) when you don't understand the game systems involved (which includes pretty much everyone who plays the game), not so much. -
Quote:Just thinking, but they can set a use limit for temporary powers. No idea how they do it though, so may well not be part of the powers code. I wonder if they can give Temp powers to enemies (and have them use them)Data driven development, folks.
When they design things like this, they don't HAVE programming to work with in the traditional sense. They're designing creatures that have powers. There aren't any variables for 'how many times have I cast this power', that would require new tech that the engine doesn't have. -
Quote:I think that the carnival side of things might actually be a very good fit for Praetoria, if the group was trying to represent what was missing from society. If fun is outlawed, only the outlaws will have fun, type of thing. I could certainly see Vanessa wanting her squads to look different, to be living embodiments of creativity, freedom, individuality. Rather than just another set of soldiers.Where in Praetoria would a Carnival of Light dressed as carnival performers be even relevant? Yes, we've heard of other cities having survived the Hamidon Wars, but I ask you this: what reason would Resistance operatives - which is what Calvin Scott describes the Carnival of Light as - have to dress up like this? Even the "clowns" of the resistance like Hatchet and Jack Hammer and so forth still wear Resistance uniforms. Hell, even Beladonna Vetrano, aka Not Ghost Widow, wears a Resistance uniform with a trenchcoat over it. In fact, no reason is ever given as to why Vaneassa instead chooses to dress like the WalMart bargain bin. It just seems out of place in the world of Praetoria.
Esspecially if she wasn't happy with what some of those Resistance soldier types got up to.
