Quote:I'd guess it has something to do with the confrontation with Hamidon. There has been some talk of Cole somehow being able to control Hami, and since Hami is an Incarnate (well, I assume the Praetorian one is as well) and the well can control Incarnates. You know, at this point, I find it more interesting to find out why Tyrant would be so willing to apparently relinquish his own free will when he has so far been shown as a paranoid control freak. You'd think giving himself over to the Well would fire up his paranoia big time.
If during the battle, which may have seemed hopeless, The Well offered Cole the power he needed to save the world, then Cole may well have taken it. (The Well may erven have powered up Hami to force the issue to start with) -
Quote:Nope, when you leave as a loyalist and go red side, the text states that you might well side with cole in the Invasion. Now I always thought that regardless of your position starting out, by the time you hit 20, you realize that Cole is only looking out for Cole and regardless of your position, he is going to take a great big ol' dump on you and whoever else to get what he wants. Now being a hero means you have to stop him for altruistic reasons, but as a villain you don't want him to screw over the world you want to eventually take over.
Quote:Go to the Rogue Isles. Become a Villain. Why would you want to go to help the people of Primal Earth when all they've shown is disdain and hatred towards Praetoria? If you go to the Rogue Isles, you can carve out your own destiny, your own path for power, for glory, for whatever you want. When the time comes that Cole invades, you'll either join alongside him, or fight him off using your new found power. (As your own story unfolds on Primal Earth, you will have opportunities to switch sides.)
Even the Hero loyalist text states that your goal is to help make Cole see that the Invasion isnt nescessary. Doesn't mention anything about fighting against your own government or armed forces.
But sadly, as with all choices made in Praetoria, none of that actually has any effect on your characters story after level 20. -
Quote:Won't incarnate powers potentially take up a good chunk of time for the powers and animation teams?... wait.
Let me get this straight. You are lumping power-set proliferation, with is a technical task, in with Praetorian Story Content?
... I'll be straight Aura. That is a really messed up point of view.
You need to go read my post here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...77&postcount=5
The developers tasked with writing and implementing Praetorian Raids, and events, are not likely to be the same developers that handle power animations. -
Pratchett fans rejoice, double news ahoy:
First off, we have 'The Watch', a TV series featuring new stories set in Ankh-Morpork
Quote:and thats not all, a TV version of Good Omens, with Terry Jones involved! The main focus of the series will be set in the bustling, highly mercantile, largely untrustworthy and always vibrant city of Ankh-Morpork and will follow the day-to-day activities of the men, women, trolls, dwarves, vampires and several other species who daily pound its ancient cobbles (and, of course, Igor in the forensics department). Terry commonly refers to the City Watch police force series as the jewels in the Discworld Crown. These richly developed and highly compelling characters will feature in a crime of the week episodic storyline. As each weekly adventure unfolds, viewers will be taken on a ride through Pratchetts genius imagination, with the author overseeing the creation of the series, where wild and exciting encounters with werewolves, dragons, dwarfs, trolls and golems and the classic heroes and villains, are an everyday occurrence and where many of these characters even make
outstanding crime fighters!

Quote:Just out of interest, how many like mind people did exactly the same as you, not responding because they didn't want to duo?
Oh, and just now, on one of the global channels, someone suggested level 20+ teaming. They got no response. Not one. I would have responded, but like I said, duoing I find dull. I like groups. But finding these like-minded people only happens to me once in a blue moon. -
Just checking, but you do know that slotting the abilities doesn't lock them, you can switch them in and out at will and can convert an ability you have slotted to the next teir up with no problems (provided you have all the other salvage). You don't have build up all the required parts without using them.

If we are gonna have costume change emotes from other places then these should be first!
-
-
Is this new? When I log characters into Test I get a costume part unlocked message saying I have WhispAuraIncentive available at the tailor.

Objective Feedback:
Seems OK, thumbs up for the ability to tell it what region I am interested in. It defaulted to Europe, but since Im play on the US servers i was glad to find the option and have it give me the links to the correct server status pages etc... Having just one Launcher for Live, Test and Beta should be quite good, it correctly detected my installs (a little trouble with live, but that was because I didn't have Live installed correctly).
So far so good. -
Quote:Surely you can just read it as being about how common it is for an Incarnate to have that level of ability? Its common for incarnates to have a one of the basic alpha slot ability but its very rare to find one that has one of the most powerful versions.
Calling an Alpha Ability 'Very Rare' is like calling level 50 characters 'Very Rare'. Not only is it incorrect, but it also belies the amount of work and effort a player has put into obtaining it. It's not something you just happen to get because the die roll came out in your favor. It's something that you worked for over a period of weeks. -
Probably should have gone with 'Going Wild Over the Animal Pack?' as the title of this thread, since the pack doesn't contain any Ape parts.
But Yay for it anyway, since its pretty cool. -
Theres a free oldtime radio archive here, which has some great stuff.
If you like lovecraft, the hp lovecraft historical society have some nice radioplay style audio books here
I generally get my ausdio drama fix from BBC Radio 7 (which might not be available to you) but generally just search for any full cast recordings by the BBC and you'll find some descent stuff (I reccomend the Sherlock Holmes ones) -

Maybe it will be a global modifier for your other incarnate powers?

Quote:I do believe that no-one has answered a question i had earlier on...
Seeing as you can craft the Notice of the Well... is there a cooldown on the crafting or is it a case of "if you have enough you can craft 10 in one go"?
No-one knows, this is all just from the interface seen in the I20 sneak peak, there are no patch notes or any offical details about it at all. -
Might be a tad high but that can be tweaked, and in general its good that its there as it gives people yet another way to get that stuff 9apart from the WTf and iTrials) In combination with them, someone who only gets time for 1-2 TF/trials a month can get what they want in a reasonable amount of time.
However, saving up for the very rare whilst only playing solo is gonna take a long time and i doubt many people will do it especially since they would probably be much better off using their shards towards the other Incarnate slots (which i hope we'll get a selction to choose from rather than having to open them in an entirely fixed order.) -
Very cool that you are doing this, particularly as people have asked for ways to win ingame rather than through the twitter/facebook/board thingy.
Yay! -
That sounds good, but... how does that affect rewards for people who jump into a Trial half way through (or one thats about to end)? And what if you don't want to join in on a Trial in progress, do you get the option to remain in the queue to wait for the next one to start?

Quote:The important thing about all of ther story text you get about your character in GR is that it is potentially false. Not just 'Oh, ignore it and make up your own reasons' way but demonstratably so in the game world. This is due to the undercover feature. You can be undercover resistance and do Loyalist missions, and you get the same text as a loyalist doing it. But, you can't have the same motivations as a loyalist, even though you are perfoming the same actions. Thus, the text descriptions of your motivations can not be canon in the senes that they are officially describing the real motivations of your character. What I got, in fact, as "Without the Seers, the PPD would be blind!" vs. "If you free these Seers, the Resistance can use them!" Wait, where is the morality in all of this? Where is the choice of MY morality? And then I realised what bothers me about those supposed "morality" missions - they aren't morality missions, they're political missions. They don't force me to choose between two morally ambiguous decisions and choose my moral high ground in the process, they force me to choose between two political factions and who to support. I am never given a choice to pick MY morality. I am only given a choice between the moral stances of two organisation from which to pick.
They are instead, the motivations the rest of the world ascribes to your actions. If you perform an action that benefits the Resistance, then the world assumes thats because you are with the Resistance, and vice versa. -
