Quote:Yes but if you look at that list I posted it clearly shows that NO ONE is getting Going Rogue for free.
Um... I did look at that list, before you posted it. In reply to me saying:
Quote:GR Purchasers do get something for having bought it. If we ever decide to not subscribe, we keep full access to GR content (under same circumstances, other people still have to pay for it). Thats pretty descent, not that I plan to ever let my sub lapse.
I'm confused. -
Quote:I think that this might actually be a possible benefit for the new store system: Different niches of the game can have actual proof about how important they are to people via their profitability. If they add some base items, and they make a profit, then they will want to add more. And more. And start thinking about how they can increase the sales and maybe put some of that profit aside to improve the base builder so that they can make even more money. That is something that should definitely NOT be 'gravy'. A better working base editor should be part of the basic game imo.
Now, extra base items and stuff (statues of your characters anyone?) is something that has limited appeal to some if not most and a lot of appeal to others. Because of it's limited appeal I imagine that stuff like that isn't high on the priority list, so it doesn't fit into the regular issue budget. So it would make more sense as gravy. -
Re: purchasable 'Vet' Rewards
Quote:From the info we have, I don't think the new 'vet' rewards will have a time gating mechanism. Also, thats not the impression I got from the details. I read as if the Vet rewards are staying, but you can now instead choose in which order you get them. You are not 'buying them' any more than a current subscriber is. You are simply able to pick the order.
The above is purely speculation, pending further details from the Devs. That is, frankly, all we can do; guess.
You get 1 PR token per month you subscribe, which can be used to unlock what are essentially vet rewards. So, that way is more or less the same as vet rewards except you get to choose which one you get (I think this will be limited by a tree, so some have to be unlocked before others become available)
But you will also get PR tokens other ways
Quote:Reward Tokens can be redeemed to unlock free in-game benefits. They are earned as part of your monthly VIP player subscription or as a bonus for purchasing Paragon Points. -

Quote:Quoting myself, because I made a mistake. It might be nice for the Devs to offer a little something for those who bought GR (when the switch to COHF happens), if only because of how soon its happening compared to its release. Nothing major, maybe just award them some extra points to spend or something.
They don't have to, but it would be nice.

It is a possibility, if COHF attracts a large enough number of people (maybe something like 10 times the current population) since that amount of exposure might seem worth it to advertisers (particularly if only VIP accounts could turn off adverts).

Quote:Just because two things happen to come from space, doesn't mean they are connected.I will point out that the Shivans are described as scouts for whoever's going to be attacking. Also, in Twilight's Son's task, the McGuffin you retrieve from the Rikti is some manner of astronomical data. I hope I don't need to tell you that Shivans are from space, being born from Meteorite fragments and all and astronomy is the study of the stars. So these two tasks are clearly connected.
They might well be, but i think theres enough haziness in the story (particularly with the letter writters warnings) to at least cast doubt on what is really going on. -
We wouldn't have to fight against all of Ouro, maybe just Silas (or whoever the mastermind is). Would make sense to keep the organisation as an actual force for good with maybe with Ramiel as the leader (and would be dioable keeping all the other pieces in play, maybe with a slight change to a few missions)
Its a possibility at least. -
Possibly. In fact, it could be the Menders actions that make them related. that would be reasonably cool. A lot hinges on who the letter writter is, and if they are correct or not (or partialy correct).
-
They all talk about 'The Coming Storm' and all refer to some disater that happens in the future. Yet, they are banned from actually naming the disaster and also seem to send you on seemingly contradictory missions in order to help prevent it. Its possible Silas is tricking them somehow, using his knowledge of the far future to convince each one that Ouro is dedicated to stopping what they consider to be the worst disaster possible.
What if Lazarus thinks the Coming Storm involves the Shivans, Twilight's Son thinks it involves the destruction of the Kheldians (possibly by the Battalion) etc... Each mender thinks they know what The Coming Storm is but each one's idea is different (and unrelated). -
Quote:Given the COHF annoucement, and the possibility that they will now sell individual costume pieces, I wonder if it might be more economically viable now? Particularly if it leads to an increase in revenue from costume pieces and so, hopefully, more resources to produce more costume pieces. We've most certainly conveyed feedback received about equity in costume piece choices. What was communicated to me is that many of the pieces that are gender specific are usually done in that manner so as to allow for greater variety in character design options, in addition to accounting for production time, value and scope. (plainly said, more costume pieces mean more time in development which means less packs less frequently. Even if it's the same costume piece, it's and entirely "new" piece if we port it to different body types i.e.; male, female, huge). That being said, our character artists, such as Cheryl, are hearing requests for items such as more coat options for females and the like and will certainly take that into account with future new costume options.
We are committed to providing you all with a diverse range of costume design options, regardless of your body type or gender.

Nope, you'll get your 400 points a month, as confirmed by Z in the main thread about this.

In all likelyhood, yes.
They can add it to the store for however much they are going to charge for a single costume piece, and in theory that should pay for the time it took for the artists to make it (and hopefully turn a profit) -
Quote:Yeah, I think this is most likely. The thing is, the GR storyline is kinda firm about having to exit at 20 - plus, as First Ward is a co-op zone, it's quite possible it'll be 35-50, like the previous co-op zones have been.
It might be easier for them to set it up as a return/entry zone for everyone. -
Awesome news :-) Yay for EMpulse!

Hi, not sure if this is stupid or not but...
Why not just make a post in the stickied 'Guide to Guides' post in the Player Guides section, where you have the list of your guides (and descriptions) and links to them.
Then, just have the link in your signature go to that post. -

Quote:It was cancelled, I think due to them finding massive problems with accessing the server data from outside the game or something.whatever happened the city vault? at least I think thats what it was called, where you could access your toons without actually playing CoH. an android app to allow players to use the auction house, use invention crafting, access bank and SG stores would be nice (well, maybe not SG stores). No mad graphics, just basic interfaces.
In terms of a portable version of CoH: In theory it might be possible through something like OnLive, which is going to be available on Andorid devices and IPad (i.e. OnLive server runs the client and connects to the CoH server, the video gets streamed to you, your inputs get sent back and input into the client). Probably wouldn't be great, and there would be lots of problems, but possible at least. -

Charles Xavier was always bald. He never had any hair. It is part of his mutation -
Its not recent but it is great.... The Phil Silvers Show.
