So, final stats?
It looked like:
2 X successful MoITF
2 X successful MoKTF
2 X successful MoLGTF
2 X MoSTF (team two restarted twice but early, so finished late but successfully)
1 X MoBSF (only 1 team went for it)
1 X MoLRSF (second team still not finished? Or gave up?)
That's amazing. I am very happy with my shiny new MoSTF badge, so now all I need is that MoBSF run that was missed due to the slow STF.
Someone should PM Avatea since I think this was just a crazy, incredible day -
This would be a good point for Cobalt to pop in and post "anyways", then we can get on with planning the next run

Quote:I didn't realise I was kicked until someone mentioned it. Apparently after that happened people still in the mish protested, which is nice.Bless your heart, Dolly. Most classy of you to take the high road. I can't honestly say I'd have turned the other cheek under similar circumstances.
Personally, given how I *can* behave sometimes, my only reaction was "oh, I got kicked for *that*?"
It was like the difference between me saying "OMFG YOU IDIOT WHY DID YOU DIE I HATE U NAO BOOOOO!!!11" and "hmm. You seem to have keeled over old chap. How unfortunate, would you like some tea?"
I was totally up for another try or completing the SF regardless. It would have been useful to see what the whole plan was and whether we could take down Reisch without dying.
Note: If this had been next week and there was an Incarnate component at stake, my reaction would have been quite different -
Quote:At the start of the final mission I asked if you wanted to fight through the groups to the main room. I said this is what I usually see happen, because it clears all the space for finding/leading the AVs and taking on the ambushes. It's safer, which is good for a master run.Cute that the tank had the aggro Dolly.. The Emp brought zero aggro with him, considering he was the one that TP'ed Dream originally in... High road of you to be fighting mobs after you were TP'ed into a room with Zero aggro, nice...
Anyways....
Apologies. had the EMp on follow to the Tank, no I didn't forget which was which.. Great assumptions there Dolly.
Walking into the room on the tank with BS in tow watching the spam of team chat you were spwewing about how we should not be TP'ed into the final room and fight our way through.. was astounding.
Nice to see on invincible Reich mission you stuck in the mission with the tank while the whole team waited outside as Seldom requested.
More than 2 attempts could have easily been made in that time; again apologies for being the die'ee /happens.. ya move on.
Then when someone died, I mentioned that the groups that had distracted the team wouldn't have been there at all if we had fought through.
That was the full extent of me disagreeing with you. I was more preoccupied with being amused that people were distracted enough to miss teleport prompts than with criticising what you were doing at the time. It didn't bother me that you were forging ahead without explaining what the plan was or considering that some people had no idea what was going on, until you led BS to his aggro location.
Same goes for the third mission. There were people on the team who had no idea what they were supposed to do. While you went ahead with the objectives I sat by the entrance, explained what was going to happen, told people to stay with me or spawn a Ouroboros portal, answered any questions people had (like when Rex asked whether he should exit or not), and exited when Reisch showed up.
I used to get really stressed and bossy in tough SFs, but this wasn't one of those times. With I19 coming next week and me having most of the master badges now, I was happy to just come along for the ride, whether we won or not. The only thing that surprised me was you running BS to the aggro spot, then *afterwards* telling us that we should have been there and not at the door. Some peeps on the team were like "huh? Black Whation?" - they didn't even know there was an aggro spot. They didn't know why you were leading BS, what was going to happen when he got to a certain place, what happens afterwards, etc... we needed to take it slower and explain the whole concept of what was happening, which is why I suggested we take things slow and fight through.
I'd still like to know (genuinely, not in some sarcastic way) two things:
- What was it that you were doing in the second mission with Mueller? Is there some trick in that mission?
- Were you planning to fight Reisch in the final mission and all the ambushes at the same time, or were you going to ask us to retreat and fight the ambushes first, then the main AV?
On the second point, I don't know how we could have retreated from the AV since the tunnels behind us would still have been populated, so I assume you were going to fight everything at once. -
Quote:Well, all I saw was an Empath run through the map to BS, find BS, run back to the main room, bring a tonne of aggro behind him to the rest of the team, not stop, barrel straight to the point where BS turns hostile, then try to solo BS while everyone else was handling the aggro that had arrived in the room. Not cool, how last mission was handled. Seemed like there was a difference approaches throughout the SF, and limited communication at the end cost us the "Master of" challenge.
I thought it was funny since even his dual-boxed Tank was taken by surprise by the Emp's actions, and that was the same person. Maybe he forgot which alt was which? (actually, that would pretty much explain everything that happened).
But meh, not too fussed. Hope to try again Sunday. -
It would have to be Mario Death. Randomly jump upwards and fall off screen on a two-dimensional plane.
With the Mario death music, of course.
The only other options would be the "hit the camera" death in Super Smash Brothers or the Street Fighter II slow-mo moaning defeat (ooo-ahh...oo-ah...oo-ahhh...) -
Quote:Oh I learned the Inspirs thing back in Issue 7, so got that covered. I know lots of people still only use while up against tough bosses.Doll,
I am in no way picking on you -- just answering your question.
On badge toons, they should have their accolades -- demonic / force of nature / etc. clickies that are up in under 15 minutes and are very useful tools. (Especially FoN, which in turn reduces the rech on the other 'acco clickies')
The biggest tool I see most people not use is ignoring their Candy .. called Inspirations , the things that one continually gets replaced through fighting. With the global mail system you can easily email yourself (what is the current limit 20 emails with attachments?) whatever you need, you can take breaks when low on inspirs and 'restock', etc. Watch when you are next on a SF/TF and check for yourself if people are using them 'only in bad situations' or normal use, the result may astound you that so many people ignore their inspir tray.
--There is also some forethought (call it experience if you want) Does a person Click the heal inspir when damaged or do they know their toon and the things fighting well enough to go 'click a luck(s) and/or sturdy(s) before entering the fight. Foresight is a lot more powerful than hindsight.
You need to do research to figure out what one AV/Hero etc you want to face at the end, for the toon you are playing.. it may be a different hero etc. wanted to face vs. another toon (all depends what is easiest for the toon you are wanting to do it on) As Gi Joe so accurately put it -- knowing is half the battle.. Example: if you are say weak to Psi then don't make the final hero a psi dmg. type, make some other hero your final.
As an afterthougt edit, Rom can be pulled to an area that will give you Zero ambushes allowing you to fight him Solo; actually 3 areas. You can also pull him away from his Nicti, kill him alone then grind down the Nicti themselves (grind down cause killing Rom vs. a Nicti is ridiculously faster).. All depends what you need to do.
I am guilty of ignoring FoN a lot. I Use Demonic and Megalo all the time but FoN not so much.
Sad fact is I have been killed by an EB Citadel while I had 4 lucks active, stupid dice rolls -
Heh - need to add more steps:
Visit all Primal Earth zones with new exploration badges and collect them
Run the two new story arcs for developing Praetorians for their badges
Keep trying the two new Incarnate TFs until you get all the badges plus the Master badges!
This is going to take a while... -
Sucks for me - I can't do that just yet.
I get the "now you can choose Flight at level 6" vet reward really soon, so to avoid having to respec every single alt twice I think I am going to wait a while then sort them all in one go.
I don't want to go through the headache of working out new builds next week and then again next month -
The only question I've ever had with these solo runs is "how do you kill the last man standing?".
For example - sure, I can confuse Romulus to kill his fluffy friends. That's no problem. But then...how do I solo Romulus?
Same with the LRSF. Sure, I can Confuse/Sleep the Freedom Phalanx so Numina or Sister veeeeeeery sloooooowly wipes out the other 7 Heroes. But then...I'm no match solo for Numina or Sister. What I do now? I can Haz I Win button?
(Yeah I know some can solo AVs/Heroes. My Dom can't though...) -
Quote:Totally agree. I am STILL hunting for:Everytime NCSoft does something like this, or has one of these cool products that doesn't get made and we learn about through the forums and such, I have to think that it's a missed opportunity.
I would totally buy Utopios and a host of other CoH products. In fact if I were the CoH marketing team, I'd try to get those Pepsi products that were made up in that other thread, made for real, I'd buy those.
There is so much money to be made off those of us who would buy that stuff, plus it'd make the brand name more well known. People seeing City Of Heroes cereal might ask around and be like, whoa that's from a game? Where do I sign up?
Archetype buttons
Laser projection pens (hero and vill)
Arachnos cape
And now these Utopios. Oh and the new Rikti NPC costume.
I have a lot of rare CoH/CoV/GR merchandise, but not nearly everything. -
A while back one of the Praetorian Police costumes sold for $595.
When the original Freakshow costume first came out, some copies sold for $400.
This is why I gave away my spare costume codes by declaring the actual codes publicly (and I think why Avatea did the same in the forum giveaways). People can't sell the codes if they have to race to enter them on the PlayNC website
I still think my idea of placing a code in the ending text of an AE arc was the best way to give one away ever -
The new TFs (plus any future Incarnate content) will probably be tougher because they include stuff like level 52+ enemies as a minimum. Therefore, you need to get the "level shift" ability, so your character can rise to the point that level 52s are even-con for you, and the final AV (level 54? 55? 56?) is within reasonable range of your level.
It will be something like that. They don't want something as daft as the LRSF but also don't want something easy. Level shifting and bosses like Protean with funky gimmick powers (e.g. everyone on the team needs to use their AoE Judgement ability when the boss gets to 75%/50%/25% HP or the boss heals back to 100%) will be the way forward. -
Well, I had lots of fun.
I think next week we should try to get involved in those new Praetorian zone events or do a tour of all the explore/history badges in the Praetorian zones.
Assuming a single important point, of course. -
Quote:That's an AE arc right there. The multiverse has a universe for every possible variable, they say, so there's an infinite number of universes in which Stefan lived, just as there are infinite in which he didn't.
Heck, there's even a universe in which Arachnos are the good guys, and Stefan is the ultimate hero with a name like... hmm... "Daddy Longleg!" -
-
$100 for the lot. I will buy them *now*.
But um...not if you've eaten them already -
As usual, just posting my action plan for next issue
Assuming not much has changed since GR beta and each incarnate "tree" can make use of any component/boost, launch day to-do list will be:
Run Mender Remiel Story Arc = Alpha slot and badge
Run/join ITF
Run/join Kahn/Cuda TF
Run/join LGTF
Run/join STF/LRSF
Count random shard drops earned. Try to save 8 and put to one side. Then, convert 4 into either the Hami and/or CoP components, or:
Hami Raid
CoP Trial
Next, turn 3 of the 6 common components gathered from the above into a common boost. Slot it to be ready for the new TF/SF.
Farm shards until you can gather three common components that you need, then use one common component plus 8 shards to make an uncommon component.
Add the uncommon component, common boost and two common components to make an uncommon boost (= 32 shards total).
Slot it…for now…
Run the new Incarnate TF and SF.
Go to Praetoria. Collect all exploration/history badges, jump in all rivers and join in the new zone events for new badges.
Run every single Praetorian story arc in Ouroboros to gain the moral choice badges and collec the remaining defeat badges.
Collect more shards until 18 hour cool-down is reached for the TFs above. Once 18 hours pass, start running them again for more components. Start working out what’s required to upgrade from an uncommon to a rare boost…(probably twice what’s needed for the uncommon, i.e. 1 uncommon boosts, 2 common boosts, 2 uncommon components and 4 common components? (= 32 + 24 + 24 + 16 shards = 96 shards!)
Rest for a bit, then see whether it’s possible to work towards an even better Very Rare Incarnate ability or if those are locked for now.
Work out whether the Devs are evil enough to have made the different incarnate “trees” separate…in other words, “REAL players have all four top-level incarnate abilities in their clutches and can switch between the four when required” (or even all 8, if you can have both final branches of each tree)…
Random thought: It would be cool if we could run tip missions in Praetoria to change into a Loyalist/Resistance, in the same way as we can switch from Villain to Hero. Hmm. I doubt there will be any regular level 50 Praetorian content yet though? Maybe after the invasion...
(edited in light of the new info and open beta)

Yep still want to do this. Should have two chances now since Amily is running Masters on the 14th
As always I'll be on my Mind/Psi Dom, since this is 1 of the only 3 badges she's missing -
Replace Hide with a multiple-choice disguise power that allows you to con friendly to the faction you are disguising yourself as. Disguises drop randomly from enemies you defeat.
Replace Placate with an AoE version that actually works and prevents you from being targetted.
Switch the Fear debuff with a weak (3 second?) Mass Confuse and centre it on the player not the victim.
Add the AoE effect back to Stalker - Claws - Eviscerate. I can count on one hand the number of times I have played my Claws Stalker since that nerf was put in (why play the Stalker when I have a Night Widow who still has an AoE Eviscerate AND has Spin??) -
I need Cuda and the STF. I would join for either of those and could step in for the ITF too since it's not as bad as the others.
For the rest I would be scared of dying and messing things up for others who really needed the badge! -
