While it's true this thread was originally about Hamidon, thread conversations do naturally tend to meander about.
I was answering a publicly posed question in it -- i.e., "What is a Guild". It's understandable that the poster would be confused, since it's not a native CoH term.
Just think what would be engendered if I was to go to any of the countless Fantasy MMOs out there, create a toon of any sort and start looking around for a "SuperGroup" to join, or to start one? What laughter! What mockery would be heaped upon me?
None of that has been done here.

Welcome to Guardian, Navy!
Looking forward to teaming with you!

Hi X2!
I am sure that TA is not the only SG that uses the term. I am quite sure that across all the Servers there are more than a few.
That's exactly my point -- many people who come from other games (and start SGs or VGs) who got into MMOs and came to think that's the word to use make the same mistake here on CoH.
But while the definition of the word "Guild" can encompass the meaning of "SuperGroup", that does not make it the right word. After all, many other words -- like "Club", "Fraternity", "Brotherhood", "Society", "League" etc. all can be equally used, dictionary-definition-wise, in lieu of "SuperGroup".
While always open to being corrected when I'm wrong, I will have stick to my guns on this one -- the only proper term in the Lexicon of CoH is "SuperGroup" (and in CoV, "VillainGroup", or VG).

Well, the way I always thought of Decoys was that they don't exist -- they're an Illusion -- they exist only in the mind of the affected targets.
So, they are targetable, and attackable, by those targets, but they take no damage at all.
On the flip side, something intangible, but real, like an untargetable Orb, might well be damaged by attacks that are trans-dimensional, such as the Hamidon's, or the Molecular Acid that can destroy dimensional gateways, or even those giant, hyper-powered turrets.
Or maybe it is just a bug.

It's a term used in other games, like *Quest, etc... it's NOT a term in the lexicon of City of Heroes.
You often see newbies to CoH come and use it. The equivalent term here in CoH is "SuperGroup" (SG).

Just a guess, but although the Orbs are untargetable, they can still be damaged by Splash damage from AoE attacks, which may be what was killing them when fighting the Turrets?

Ha ha, BI, you've got us all super curious now!
You're such a tease! Who was it?

Quote:Cows, although certainly edible, fall into the same category as Ham.Bacon isn't as cool because it does not come from cows. Cows are the most glorious animal known to this planet.
Which is, "ehh, okay" -- a general staple food.
But Bacon ... is in a class all its own. Not simply edible, but amazing!

Quote:I contend that real Bacon will perform better than Kevin Bacon after 53 years in a deep freeze with proper vacuum packing and electronation.idk, doc. real bacon probably wouldn't be as yummy after almost 53 yrs.

I have two GTX 460 cards in SLI at 2560x1600, running with /maxfps set to 120 & /vis_scale at 4.0.
Ultra mode with all settings at their highest quality drops me to under 20 fps in most zones despite the SLI.
To be honest, I usually just play with Ultra Mode off. Better water, shadows, etc., aren't worth the framerate loss.

Quote:Speaking from experience in helping to organize and run large Events (the most recent 10 Billion in size), I would say 250 Million INF and up for the top prize will generally have a pretty good turnout and will bring some of the top costume designers out of the woodwork. Less INF = Less Turnout. In your opinion, what is considered a "worthwhile incentive" to get participation in a costume contest?
But bear in mind that the prize alone is only half of the equation, or even less. Marketing and promoting the event is vital, and it is this that will in large part dictate your turnout.
This means not only posting about the Event here in the forums (remember, most players don't visit or use the Forums) but broadcasting it every 30 mins or so during peak play hours in Atlas Park on Guardian as well as possibly on other servers, such as Freedom, every day for a week.
Now that you can e-mail INF to your Global account, you can get participants seeking that contest prize from anywhere.

Unlike real bacon, Kevin Bacon is no longer this yummy.

Bacon even has the power to bring the Servers together! All Hail Bacon!

Francis Bacon's mother's name was Anne Cooke Bacon.

Did you know...
The "Scientific Method"...
Is also known as...
The "Baconian" Method?
It's true, thanks to Francis Bacon, 1st Viscount Saint Alban, KC. -
