  1. I sell everything I don't want in WW. If it's common, I'll list it for 10 inf. I'll pull it out and sell it to a vendor if it doesn't sell after a week. It's all about supply and demand. If there is no demand, the people holding onto the supply will find other ways to get rid of it.
  2. I keep thinking that they needed money to help finish STO.
  3. I think what the pro-lifetimers miss is that while NCSoft would generate a lot of money in the first year from the subscriptions, they don't see that at month 13 NCSoft would start losing money from that player. Most lifetime subscriptions I have seen were based on the cost for one year. After that year is up, they are not getting any new revenue. Micro transactions (like CO has,) New box expansions, and other add on packs are a way to keep generating income, but then the players feel like they are being nickel and dimed to death.

Silver_Lobo already posted a way around that. Just have the home server added to the toons name when they are in the PvP zone. It would be just like what they did when the forums were merged.

I like the idea of cross server PvP. People complain about empty zones now. Making it cross server would fill up the zones. This may be all that is needed to get the casual PvPers to go there more often. Maybe then the Devs would have a reason to work on fixing PvP again.
  5. PvP has been in this game for years. Talking to the PvP contacts is required. If people wanted to PvP they would. It's not possible to not know about it. The fact that the PvP zones are empty shows that most of the player base don't want to PvP. Forcing PvP in peoples faces will not get more to PvP. They will just fill the Devs inboxes with demands to remove world PvP. It happened once before when the PvP contacts were inside the PvP zones. Let's face it, if the Devs have to chose between the non-PvPers and the PvPers, well, just look where most of the players are. It would be a waste of time and money for the Devs to add even more PvP options when what we have is not being used. Same goes for a PvP server. If they were going to give that to us, it would have happened years ago. The best thing we can ask for is a way to bring the few PvPers left in the game together in once place without having to leave their home server. World PvP would do the opposite of this. It would spread them out more.
  6. It's a very interesting idea, and could be a lot of fun. With that said, it would be way too easy to abuse. The amount of work that would be needed to keep it from being overpowered would be huge. I would rather the Devs time be spent working on new content and not fixing one part over and over again.
  7. Anyone that's been around long enough to remember when we were forced to enter the PvP zones to clear introduction mission will understand why this will never work. Untill you cleared that mission, you couldn't get any others. When you entered the zone, you would get TP Foe and killed. Try to leave the zone? yeah right. TP Foe the moment you step out of the hospital. Don't bother asking them to stop killing you so you can leave. They will just tell you that if you didn't want to PvP, then you shouldn't have entered the zone. The Devs were cheered the day they moved the contacts outside the zones.

At it's peak, a little over 10% of the player base was into PvP. It's not that high now. From a business standpoint, why would NCSoft annoy 90% of their players just to make 10% happy? Cross server PvP zones would be the best way to get the PvP zones more active. At least then you could stay on your server and the non-PvPers wouldn't have to deal with something they don't want.

People just like to complain about this topic.
I almost stopped playing during the AE farm days because of the farmers. I got sick of getting tell after tell from people demanding that I join their farm. A large number of them would swear at me when I would say "No thank you. I don't do AE farms. They bore me." Then there were the lvl50 AE babies that would stand around complaining that the game was lame because it only had one zone. They didn't know there was any zone other than Atlas. If you honestly think that players like that didn't hurt the game, then there is nothing else that can be said.
  9. I always make sure some of my not played so much alts have the missions ready for times just like this. Half of them still have the missions from last year.

I'm fine with everything but the PvP part. That would piss too many people off

I've used Newegg to build my last 3 systems without any problems. I can't say the same for TigerDirect. I have ordered and been charged for items they said was in stock only to get a refund 3 weeks later because they didn't have it. I wouldn't normally be upset by that, but it's happened to me several times. I don't like having my time wasted by a company that doesn't know what they have in stock and what's sold out.
  12. It's happened to me but I loaded onto a villain map with my scrapper. The weird thing for me was that I spawned outside the normal map. After finding and talking to the other players (we all got a good laugh about it) I was able to join their team and help them finish the mission by finding the run away mobs under the map.
  13. Getting rid of the PvP zones will do two things, piss off the PvP haters and spread out the few PvPers there are. The nonPvPers don't want anything to do with it and if you change it so PvP can happen anywhere, well, there will be so many angry emails to the Devs that it will be like the days when everyone had to go inside the PvP zones to clear the introduction missions. From a business standpoint, do you anger your player base to give something to a small percentage of them?
  14. You can go back to the badge locations and get credit for the SG even if you already have the badge on your toon. Just be sure to be in SG mode when you do it.
  15. I would love more slots on a server. I've maxed out on 2 accounts and are working on filling the next one.

On the catgirl I have I just put "No ERP. Don't even ask." at the top of my bio. I almost never have a problem with unwanted attention now.

    RP on servers

RP can be found on other servers, but it's the most common on Virtue. What I don't get are the people that move to Virtue and then complain about the RPers.

You need to email them to change it. Check this thread for info on how to do it. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...t=forum+rename
  19. You'll have a much better chance of finding PvP on Freedom. I know a lot of them decided to move there from other servers.
  20. Late last night/early this morning the global channels and global friends started going down. It seems that the server was just starting to fail. At one point all my global channels looked like someone changed all the names to leet

You want to know another reason the PvE crowd hate PvP? It's the bad attitude a few of the PvPers have. You know the ones, they will gank someone that is new and them mock them till they get sick of it and leave. The number one complaint I have heard about PvP in this game isn't the lack of rewards, drops or even they way the powers work in the zones, it's the way the PvPers act. For every bad apple there are 30-40 great and helpful people, but all anyone remembers is the jerk.

    PvP Revamp

I hate to say it, but at this point I don't see PvP coming back to life in this game. There are so few PvPers left that the development money would serve more people by adding new PvE content. Even after they added PvP only rewards all that happened was a small number of people started to farm them. The majority of the player base didn't care. All adding new PvP zones will do is spread out the few remaining PvPers across more zones.
