Okay, here's what was stolen from Art Asylum. It's a chrome plated bust of a Cylon from Battle Star Galactica. It's a prototype so no one but Art Asylum should have one at this time.

Stolen Cylon Bust

Would this be that? "Comic-con-exclusive" bsg cylon bust? Looks silver-painted, not chrome, and other details might help (size and whatnot.) (Edited for note - nope, because they do have a "limited run of 1000" over at Art Asylum.)
[/ QUOTE ]
That looks like it may be it. If AA is not selling that then thats the prototype. -
I frequent a forum where Jason "Spyda" Adams also frequents. He recently got back from the San Diego Comic Convention where someone had the gall to steal some stuff from him and his father, Neil Adams (sandman etc..)
Here is the text from Jason and the images of what was stolen. If anyone sees this stuff please contact Jason. I'm sure they will reward you in some way and seeing as we are all collectors we may stumble across these items on places we frequent.
[ QUOTE ]
I am really not sure where it's best to post this, so if the moderators wish to move it to another place, thet's cool with me.
I will be posting something about how great the San Diego show was soon but I need to get this off my chest first and get anyone I know on the look out.
Me and my family had a big booth at the San Diego show. To one side was my sculpture work, to the other was my brothers pin up work, and in the center was my Dad's. Since dad gets such a big line of people, I help out as much as possible with his books and such, collecting money and keeping things moving along. Unfortunately, this means I have to turn my back on me tables for a moment or two now and then. I keep a standing back drop behind the pieces for better viewing which makes them easier to view by the public but abstructs my own view so I keep enything I am selling ot the side where thieves can't grab them. Odly enough, I have never thought that anyone would swipe the painted prototypes.
I had my new Demon Tower assembled but not put together on a battery operated turn table and on a stand next to that was another turn table with the "Next..." barbarian kit I had painted up for display. The next shelf down had the painted Frankenstein and my other pieces were here and there. I really was pleased with the way it looked.
At one point someone asked me about the barbarian piece and I asked "which one?" and the guy said "You have more than one?" and as I leaned over to show him both pieces, I found the "Next..." barbarian was gone and in it's place was the Frankenstein piece. I stormed about the gigantic convention in a hopeless attempt to catch who took it but obviously couldn't find him. The Convention refuses to make announcements, so I couldn't alert anyone to watch for the guy. (The announcement thing is kinda funny. They refuse to make announcements because last year there was so many prank announcements for fake names like Mike Hunt and things like that.)
So the sculpt was lost. The thief was kind of smart, I have to admit, because by placing another sculpture on the stand, it didn't look to people like there was a statue missing, so no one asked about the empty turn table.
Security took a report, but told me there was no hope of finding it.
So, needless to say, I was incredibly pissed off. But, by the end of the day, I found that the thief came back to steal 2 things from my father worth a couple hundred dollars each. He had a Superman CGC graded comic which he had drawn an original Superman portrait on and a Green Lantern with an original Green Lantern and Green Arrow portrait on. Both were on stands and both were gone while lower priced items were put in their place.
I gotta say, I was pissed when my own property was stolen but when someone steals from my Dad or anyone in my family, my head spins.
As the day came to a close, I found out my friend Donna at Art Asylum had a Battle Star Galacica prototype ship stolen, and another guy had expensive comics stolen while cheaper comics were put in their place.
There's some thief out there with quite a collection of stolen property and I am going to do my best to gather a list of what was taken so that if any item is found, the trail will lead us to the thief.
So anyway, below you will find a photo of the three items stolen from our booth. It's not easy to identify the Next... statue from others since, hopefully, people who bought them from me have painted them, but I figure I can identify mine accurately since you can't paint two the same exact way. The photo of the Green Lantern book is he exact one missing and only one exists. My father did 8 of the Superman's with sketches, but we have the other seven and have decided not to sell them at this time so if yo see one being sold on ebay or anywhere, that will be the one stolen. The picture I have is one of the ones we still have though. I don't have a scan of the one that was stolen.
If you see any of these, please let me know. I will be putting better photos of the statue up on my site so it can be identified more easily.

Not sure if it is a bug or wishlist but there are tons of costume parts that do not have partners in other categories, such as the patchwork pants not having a matching top, or gloves / boots. I'll try to compile a list soon.

The Cathedral of Pain is expected to be released prior to Issue 8, and it will be a little different than originally planned. It will be PvE oriented and the trial will remain active for 7 days.
[/ QUOTE ]
Cricket, can you clarify this please? The CoP trial was already entirely PvE in all its previous incarnations, so in what sense will it be PvE oriented?
[/ QUOTE ]
You are correct. The trial itself was (and will be) all PvE. But there was PvP in the Cathedral of Pain process: it is the next step in the cycle (raiding) where the PvP came into play. That isn't part of the trial run itself, but there is a connection. If you walked away from the trial with an Item of Power it meant that you should probably expect to be raided by another supergroup.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes it is SO heroic for other hero groups to go break into another hero groups base and STEAL something, while causing property damage /rolleyes
Really who thought this up? -
Female Insectoid Hybred faces are showing up for me with the skin part really shiny like the metallic surfaces. Anyone else seeing this with a 6600 or better nvidia card?

I would be happy if you would just fix the bug that when i goto the tailor, select any costume, and go to edit it, and everything is changed. it doesnt keep my costume that i select, it does some random piece selection. so then i have to change everything back to how i had it if i want to make one small change.. this has been going on for a while now and it would be nice if you all fixed it.
[/ QUOTE ]
As far as I can tell this happens when the costume part that you had was changed in some way or the editor itself was changed. With the overhaul that Jay & Ian did to clean up the editor alot of people suddenly had invalid costume parts. This is why we were given free tokens -

I fixed your links as these forums do not allow embeded images. For future reference you can scroll to the very bottom of the imageshack screen (after upload) and there will be a link at the bottom of the link list called direct link. Use that with the URL function for forum posts
EDIT: I see your using photobucket instead, Not sure how they post their links but all you need is the http://stufhere.jpg part for posting directly to the forum. Like this, which is one of your images from above with the excess code stripped out. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...0-21-05-52.jpg
Thanks for posting screenshots of the bugs for Jay and Ian!

EDIT: question was already answered.
On the TO accuracy note. I have noticed a huge benefit at the lower levels only slotting accuracies. Buy them if you must but slot the ones that drop. Also don't plus them unless it is a good boost for instance if you are level 7 dont + a 6 with an 8, + the 4 instead. -
There is a special category called "Unique Tops" for the vallentine's toga...this whole category seems to be missing many of the options that were duplicated into other categories from Tights, such as many belt options and glove options, probably shoulder options too...according to someone on test i talked with.

[ QUOTE ]
Interesting. This is the first I've heard of magic sculp. I'll look into this to see if it will work for what I want to do. Right now it looks like I'll probably stick with sanding and cutting on a resin cast, but I'll continue experimenting with other options.
[/ QUOTE ]
The good thing about resin is that you can use the epoxie putties for cleaning up holes and adding details. Aves epoxie sculpt is another brand that modellers swear by. -
[ QUOTE ]
The Ampules belt is missing from the options list when you select Armored pads bottom.
[/ QUOTE ]
IIRC Belts are linked to tops not bottoms. What top were you using? -
There are some styles of durable silicon rubber, i think, that you can use to make press molds for sclupey, however I'm not sure about casting the figure and then doing a push mold version of sculpey and baking that.
Resin is easy to sand so removing the buttons should not be a problem at all from a casting (good call on keeping the original kit intact). You can also use a file/rasp that is somewhat fine to remove the buttons too, or a dremel tool with a sanding drum. Just work with a dust mask at the very least or outside so you're not breathing in the resin dust.
as for the gun in the hand, well I can't tell how big the gun actually is in his hand, If the hand has a tightish grip on the gun you can just cut/dremel down what you don't need and turn it in to a fist.
Another option is if your mold material is easily or semi easily destroyable then you could get a 2 part epoxy resin like magic sculpt or at worse plumbers epoxy. These have a chemical reaction and will harden up after parts A are mixed with parts B. The plumbers epoxy should work like clay but a bit sticky, the magic sculpt works that way for sure and you can use talcum powder as a release agent or to keep it from sticking to your hands.
Now what you can do is cast the torso in your rubber, then push freshly mixed magicsculpt into the mold and let it sit for about 3 hours or so which is when it will finally kick and become rock solid, if it doesn't come out of the mold then just tear the mold apart, you can drill/sand/carve/scrape/file the magicsculpt down where you want and add more to cover up any holes or whatnot. The great thing is you don't need to bake it. -
Tall order and rather specific so I doubt you'll find any sort of guide. That being said, google is your friend. Do a safe google or google image search for your subject.
Examples:
"Magical Girl"
"Magical Girl"+anime
"Cat Girl"
"Anime Maid"
"Maid"+anime
"Demon Girl"+anime
Try variations and see what you come up with. Perhaps add the word +design or search for "anime design" or "anime girl design" -
This is a bit more indepth information as to what all the numbers correspond to in a character section of a .cohdemo file. I hope you find it usefull.
DEMO: Character Bodyparts:
Costume consists of 31 sections just for the basic body form. This covers the body sliders. The range is usually -1 to 1 except for height which can go from something crazy like -99 to 99. 5 is about 6' tall.
Example:
777 444 COSTUME 1 84adef 4.671756 -0.703297 0.000000 -0.175824 1.000000 -0.896154 -0.351648 0.020000 0.356700 -0.398900 -0.233300 0.357900 -0.330300 -0.724800 0.376500 0.281800 0.179100 -1.000000 -1.000000 0.005990 0.730800 0.014670 -0.280900 -0.716700 -1.000000 -1.000000 -0.342600 -0.043430 -0.682800
777 = Time index
444 = Character ID number
COSTUME = Character costume information
# 1, 2, 3 = Female, Male, Huge
84adef = Skin Color in HTML color code.
Now the rest of the lines are as follows and correspond to the same named slider
Sliders:
Height
Physique
??? (I can not get a number to show up here at all and changing it seems to do nothing :/ )
Shoulders
Chest/Breast Size
Waist Size

Cranium: Left

Now we come to the costume parts themselves:
Example:
777 444 PARTSNAME Tight tights none 00000000 00000000
777 = Time index
444 = Character ID number
PARTSNAME = denotes that this is a costume part
The following sections change depending on the bodypart, usually it is the selected section, the costume part, a pattern, and the primary and secondary colors. Here is a list of what part affects what.
Partsname List:
Lower Body:Bottoms/Bottoms w-Skin/Monstrous Hips/Tucked In/Pants
Upper Body:Tights/Tops w-Skin/Armored/Baggy
Head/Face/Helmets/Full Mask [mask pattern etc..]/Full Helm/Monstrous Heads
Gloves
Boots/Monstrous Feet/Tight Pants:Boots/
Belt
Hair/Hats/Hoods/Half Helms/Helms/Full Helm [Detail 1] (side of head stuff, com units etc..)/Monstrous Ears
?
Head Detail 1 (eyes / horns, etc..) ***
Chest Emblem
Shoulder
Full Mask [Detail 1] (top of head stuff, crests etc..)
?
Head Detail 2 (mouth stuff / beards etc..)
Robot Arm(s)
Cape Mantle
Cape Brooch
Cape Size/Cut/Pattern
Aura
Skirts & Shorts
Robes/Jackets/Shirts
Robes/Jackets:Sleeves
Helm Crest/Ears **
Ears/Helm Ears **
** During one of my costume test runs I found that the Demon Ears on the full mask segment where listed here instead of the normal ear category. No idea why.
*** Detail 2 in Full Masks & Full Helms is the same as Detail 1 for all others.
There are still 2 areas I have not been able to figure out what costume part they refer to. It is possible one is for the holiday event items like the valentines robe, which I can not check due to not having it. Or perhaps it is something unique to Huge or Male that I just missed.
There is also the possibility that they are empty and will be filled in the future by something like wings. -
I just remembered another trick I've seen in some sculpting videos to keep clay firm. You can take a can of "dust off" and turn it upside down to gently spray the figure. DO NOT spray any of your bodyparts with the stuff. It is the cans of compressed co2? that they use for blowing dust and stuff out of computers.

Sorry - I have no way of providing a screen cap -
As of I7:
My bald (no hair) character now looks like he has a cap on the back of his head that is just a smidgeon above the scalp and it does not seem to react to lighting the same as the rest of the head (based on character swiveling tests). This makes it very obvious that there is something wrong when part of the head is in shadow and another part on the same side is lighted.
Help is appreciated.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure you doBut it takes some effort on your part. I'll lay out the steps so that if you wish, in the future, you can post screenshots.
<ul type="square"> Screenshots and You[*]Enter CoX like normal and Open your options window. Go to Keybinds and scroll down near the bottom till you see the section that has screenshots listed. Make sure your printscreen button is assigned to the JPG option. If you do not want the UI to show up you can assign a toggle UI button that will turn it on and off for screenshots every time you hit the button you assign to turn the UI on and off.[*]Now that you have your keybind assigned, go to the area/thing you want to capture a picture of and hit Print Screen. [*]Exit the game and browse to your City of Heros directory (using windows explorer or whatever). Inside this directory will be another directory called Screenshots. The screenshot you took is sitting in here waiting for you to show it to the world. [*]Now go to this website and upload your image. Http://www.imageshack.us/ [*]Once the image is loaded you'll see all sorts of code in little windows for you to use. You can ingore all of that except the very bottom one called something like direct link to image. Just cut and paste that into a post here and you've just shared a screenshot that you made! [/list]
It is easier then it sounds -

The "Alien" face seems to be missing from any of the female head types... I wouldn't mind so much, but I was trying to remake a character from my main server to another and couldn't get her to look the same.

Did you check under masks with hair? That one seems to have all the faces. If the alien face is not there please post an image so that we know what one you're talking about.
Argus? is in all the categories now (bug eyed side of head face), The chitin-alien-face is in masks w/hair and so is the Bio-organic alienish face. -

Long Cape, Insect 4
This has been around since capes were introduced back when Goblin Queen was a hero. The transparent portion of the cape has an outline of the original cape shape which is apparent any time you have Flight, Hover, Super Jump, an aura, etc. on that highlights the feet/body area and you have the camera just a little zoomed out. Other people see it much easier of course since they're typically further away from your cape by default.
Please, please, please - Jay and Ian in all your uber sexyness, please fix this. This is my favorite cape!
I haven't noticed other capes that aren't exactly cut in the standard cape fashion doing the same thing, it seems to just be this cape.
Thanks!
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for re-reporting this. I totally forgot about getting a screenshot off of Tanker'bell's wannabe wingsThis one has irked me. I think that the problem is the texture's Alpha map is just a tad short of the full cape length.
