Quote:Frosticus...did you buy some HotGLs (Huffings of the Green Leaf) on the market again? If we show patience this time it will be easier for us to convince them that they can take it down for several days to do a merger...
Quote:I'm pretty convinced that WW and BM were trying to merge themselves. They just have chemistry, he's a dark sullen outcast that nobody talks too, and she's the cheerful popular girl who is tired of all the attention, and while the Devs may try to forbid their love, such an event is only a matter of time. Much as you cannot stop the eclipse, you cannot stop the MERGE. -
Quote:This can't be correct though. When we did our lgtf and had to quit due to the greens being nigh unkillable (and our team has been doing this for months every night) the greens were quite active and blasting us readily all the time...killing our tank in 6 shots or so.I just looked at the powers for this entity and I *did* find a bug...but nothing that would cause the increased difficulty you are describing.
The only change the powers of this entity has undergone was in issue 16, when I made a change to the way it's auto and toggle powers work to alleviate server stress.
As for the bug I did find, apparently instead of having 50 points of hold Protection, the green mito has 50 points of hold mag preapplied, meaning it is permaheld already. That is causing it to not use it's 2 click powers.
EDIT: Note the that zone version of the Healer works properly, only the mission version had the hold issue. -
Quote:yep. I lost a bunch of wings I had mailed myself for other characters to pick up. Waiting on support to do something about itWorking with support now, global chat channels dropped in the midst of my emailing. Email is connected through the chat it seems, and when chat-server reset I think that wiped what I had in the mid-flight, but they were already out of my inventory... so poof.
This, obviously, could happen again. So I will make sure I communicate clearly with them what happened.
Quote:While emailing inf is handy it's not really a big one for me. In order, my wishes are:
1. PvP Minigames (capture the flag, etc)
2. Huge body style for females.
3. All outfits (including dresses and skirts, tattoos hair cuts, etc) available for both sexes.
4. Offline SG invitation/promotion.
5. Infinite market slots for all characters or at least 30-50 per character
The outfit discrepancy is irritating, for instance the baron boots not being available for females nor things like cigar, tattooed arms & t-shirt etc..
offline sg promote/demote/invites would be so helpful! Same with the other stuff too of course -
Quote:Yes your first costume slot is solely composed of arachnos parts that you can change at any time. Jlove mentioned something along the lines that the Arachnos costume slot is like a mini version of the costume creator solely designed to just be arachnos parts or some such. What about the back details available for Bane/Crab costumes at creation? Does the new Crab backpack fit over them or does it replace it? (maybe that first one is for Bane Spiders?)
And to double-check : I can only have one Arachnos costume but I can go to the tailor at anytime to get it changed?
ty!
The backpack is going to cover whatever was on your back. No other way around it. I can't recall offhand how well it blends in with the pure crab parts. -
I posted this image a couple times in closed beta
I can't believe this went live like it is. -

Another Costume based Info for VEATs:
You can not use any weapon that is unlocked. You are currently stuck with the maces/guns or widow claws. No talsorian/vanguard items, no ruularu versions, nothing.
6th Costume Slot:
You are fortunate in that due to the unlock of a costume at L10 and holiday salvage you can indeed get a 6th costume. However you can NOT edit this costume once you've unlocked it. It is a duplicate of your second costume slot (the one accessed with /cc 1). So you had better like your second costume before doing your 6th unlock.
Once unlocked you can change your second costume slot without affecting the 6th costume. You can change to this costume via /cc 5 command. -
Quote:I never remember if they do or don'tA 50 will work if you mal below 47.
Most proc's do, its the set bonus IO's that don't.Good memory refresher there. Thanks.
Quote:It is not at bad build and you probably could solo AV's with it but the build is still a bit odd to me.
1st off i would only put 1 slot on hover...5 slots is just a waste. I wouldnt go with the BOTZ sets.....with the changes to the sets that go live today....your ranged and aoe bonus get cut in half. I am assumimg the prices on this set will go down but the extra slots in travel powers are not worth a 1.5 % def bonus.
6 slot TT leadership with the gaussens set. The set is pricey ...but your build allready is pricey....so it will be infamy well spent.
I know its a mattter of taste but i never take the healing pool. I do see people taking the heal for their soa's but i just feel there are better powers to take. I just pop a green when i run into trouble. Instead of the 2 healing powers you could take placate and assault from the leadership pool or combat jumping.
3 slot haste to get the most out of it. If you want to spend alot of infamy on all those LOTG's...thats great but i really feel you dont need them. maybe 1 or 2 .
Will someone please explain to me why nightwidows need so much recharge?? I never saw the need for it....im at 51.25% and i feel that is more than enough. Forts need alot of recharge...night widows don't.
I use hover in missions as my primary movement so I want it to move as fast as possible. I find that the 3d freedom of movement in hover is priceless.
I'm looking at running mindlink perma with a bit of overlap just in case I get slowed, without having to rely on hasten. I'd only use hasten in really tough battles or av fights where I need all my powers back asap. More recharge just means I don't need to use hasten as often and can avoid the end crash on an AT that is already an end pig. I can probably do without a couple of the lotg's and don't plan on having them all in my build right away as I'll be buying some of these items with merits or random ticket rolls.
I'd like to keep placate but it was the easiest power to drop for another attack to have a smoother/harder hitting attack chain. -
Quote:Funny I find stuff like the Ninja Pack to impact my game play for the better. That isn't a trivial power :PThey've been doing this almost 2 years now. Wedding pack, etc. It's bonus stuff that does *not* impact the play of the game itself, but if you want it it's there. It's also extremely inexpensive. So... *shrug*
I'm happy with the tails being off the Belt area!
To answer the OP: No new costume parts but they did add Armored pattern to almost everything now, tights etc.. -
I think i'll create some alts to become mules for stuff that isn't moving or just use their limited slots to sell slow selling stuff.

Quote:As a temporary measure (I'm assuming this will be adjusted eventually), you can try the following:
typing
/windowscale auction 1.3
will increase the size of the auction window, and with it the text size for the enhancement/recipe numbers shown there.
Typing /windowscale auction 1 will put it back to default again (unless you've changed your global windowscale in the options, in which case you can just change the value there again).
Unfortunately it doesn't seem like you can go past 1.3 (it actually starts somewhere before that, but 1.3 is easier to remember than 1.27).
You can do the same for your enhancement tray with
/windowscale enhancements 1.3
(the enhancement tray has to be undocked)
It's a fairly ugly workaround, but at least it should make the numbers easier to read.
Doesn't fix the Enhancement Management window where all your slotted powers can be looked at. -
Quote:Not sure if the L50 works for the stealth proc, that's just a default level setting. if i can find a L15 cheaper I'll surely go that routeHey DJ! Good luck respecing Vemon Kiss... Um, that is all.
Actually, I'm not sure you need the stealth proc at lvl 35, I think the 50 still works if you are malefactored down... However, getting a lvl 15 proc might be cheaper at the BM, even cheaper than a lvl 50, maybe put in a bid and see if you can get one cheap. -

No you can't. We requested this feature in closed beta. Many bugs made it to live it seems.

Quote:I'd like to clarify something here. The storage tab at ww/bm is nothing more then convenience/eyecandy. You are not actually gaining any more "storage" room then you had before. It is merely a very nice visual "Sorting Option".I17 WW/BM Interface has a Storage Tab. It will hold Recipes, Enhancements, and Inspirations. It is also just a few days from being live. You did notice that I referenced that?
There are no Base Services that will actually draw Members to use the Base. Other than Storage at this time. Soon as I17 Hits, they Get the Storage Tab at the WW/BM.
I really didn't mess with the new WW/BM Interface much in Closed Beta, as I was testing Demons. I'll log back onto Test, and check the Storage Tab. I may be overstating it's potential usage.
I'll get back to ya.
Black
If you had 20 items you could have in ww/bm before this patch you will still have 20 items you can have in your market slots after todays patch. This tab just lets you see what ones you have that you have not put up for sale, thus they are "stored".
Quote:Yes, and I think the OP is saying that for development purposes, maybe we should try to focus on things that that bases don't do (yet), and thinking of ways that they could be accomplished.
If we are constantly focusing on "moar decor plz!", that's what we'll end up getting, instead of things that would actually improve the functionality of bases for all members, not just the editors.
Fire-Away is simply asking if we can actually make a separate list for functionality. It can be done, it just takes a little focus.
Djeannie, you had some really good suggestions, but you just couldn't help yourself, and still ended up adding in things that are more decor oriented. As you say, it's a natural inclination, given the function of the editor.... but...
As Black has pointed out, functionality development doesn't have to be limited to the editor. Using SG badges to acquire special SG items is a tried & true mechanism for getting all SG members involved in SG activities.
I know there have been mutterings of bringing back the CoP Trial for raids, but I would also like to see non-raid related TF's for SG's. Perhaps a TF could allow the SG to;
- place a store NPC
- expand their storage (my own pet peeve)
- get a discount for plot upgrade
- get a prestige grant
- any number of the other lovely suggestions that have been mentioned.
To me npc's that move around the base and are able to be interacted with is functionality. I dislike seeing the base so sterile and empty with no life to it at all. Even better when we can drop in NPCs that do ingame functions that other NPCs already do.
Storage: I seriously and I mean SERIOUSLY doubt we will be getting any more storage options at all or an increase in storage capacity. Back in beta for the inventions system (i9 iirc), you used to be able to store all salvage in the storage racks when there was also base salvage. You were able to store 2500 pieces per rack even though the racks said 999 and never had the number updated (I asked pohysb about this).
It was pointed out to the developers that there would be no reason to use the market at all for salvage unless you were trying to make money as people would just store the rare salvage drops they got for sg members and themselves, which people do now with the limited 30 item racks. So the devs removed storing in base racks at all. They only added that back in when they decided to remove base salvage from the drop tables.
During that time, as a piece of trivia, they cut our personal carrying capacity in half and moved it into "the vault". I've always disliked this move and find it's nothing more then a time waster forcing me to go run to a vault to see what's on hand in there every time I wish to craft. I loathe needless time wasters added to systems that are supposed to be "fun". Reminds me of when I worked at a game company doing cabinet games (arcade) and how they would gauge playtime by quarters per x minutes spent.
Now that there is a popup for "omg ur deletin' salvage in a rezipee youze owns!" I'd like to see the vaults done away with but that wont happen because...DAY JOBS! -

Quote:Meh I figured they always do a backup of test before doing anything major to it and if we did lose all our characters I'd be sad but as I've stopped playing on test as my main server I'd get over itIt does,
and they did.
I want to compliment all of us for not going off the deep end.
Yes, we know that Test is Test, and we have been warned that we could lose anything or everything at any moment.....
But still, it was good to see how politely and calmly we took the prospect, when it looked like it had happened.

Ok tried changing the build around with advice given above. I ended up dropping placate for hasten, though I'd like it for the extra crits out of hide, but I know how useful hasten can be for combat. Dropped assault for Slash.
Moved slots around into fort, ml and mask for more defense. Wiggled slash into the build @ 5 slots. Upped the regen/recovery a little bit more and have around 86% global recharge. Enough to keep ML perma without hasten running.
Build is pricy with 4 or 5 lotg +rechCould be far worse with a few purple sets heh.
Is there the possibility of soloing an av with this or is the damage still too low and the end drain too high still? Not that this is the point of the build but I'd like to know if this is more viable for doing such a thing as I've never had an AV soloer before

Quote:I have to disagree. This isn't the worst case scenario. Greg Land is the worse case scenario to the point of blatantly stealing other artists works/poses without even making changes. He's the Penultimate hack in the comic book industry. This thread is an interesting read. It's just a shame you waste so much time discussing values.
This sums it up for me:
You need to use references otherwise you end up like me: rubbish background, very little objects in the finished piece, lack of studies of textures, etc...
Here's the worst possible case scenario - Gene Simmons' Son Plagiarizing Bleach: http://community.livejournal.com/bleachness/446299.html
Blatant tracing/rip off and trying to make money out of it. The rip off is so constant that we're way passed the "homage" point.
Of course Land traces photo-reference which is really an up in the air subject as if thats using the reference or just pretending your a xerox machine. It's his outright theft of other artists art that i find pathetic.

Quote:Something occured to me in the course of this discussion. People keep bringing up the comic industry as an example of copying being prevalent or even "no big deal." Well let's say, just for the sake of argument, that it does go on all the time. Let's say that the editors at Marvel want the product produced quickly and are encouraging artists to copy things in order to turn the work out at a fast pace (I still have no reason to believe this is the case).
Marvel owns the artwork. The presumably own the artwork for every magazine they've published. In that case, they are within their rights to rip themselves off all day long despite how crappy and uncreative that is. There would only be a stink if the copying was of some other company's material and they made an issue of it.
I have the right to cannibalize all the work I've ever done if I want. It's mine. It has no bearing on whether it's right or wrong to lift things. Likewise, comic companies are free to steal from themselves. That doesn't lend weight to the idea that it's okie dokie to lift from other people.

I'm very curious what different builds the people who have given advice in this thread would do with the basic one I had at the top of this post.Messed around with a build earlier for you when I got home, it drops both assaults and adds slash and hasten. It retains the 82.5 global recharge as well, plus has about 100 more hit points and I've doubled your hit point regeneration to 23.5 (you wouldn't belive how nice this can be). However, it's a little more end intensive with a bit less recovery, which was not outlined in your specifications. Widow's are end hungrey to begin with, this would be a friendlier PvE build outside of soloing AVs. However I don't think widows are optimized for soloing most AVs so take it for what it's worth.
Also, take into consideration that later on down the road if you decide to end up with purples and/or PvP IOs you can make a widow into and unstoppable juggernaut (outside of cascading defense failures ---> which is why I always take the "I'm coming after you now and there's nothing you can do to stop me" button known as elude on my widow). You could easily get 120+ global rech and have 3.8+ end/sec recovery with the right sets later on.
I can post the build if you like, might give you some ideas anyway if you decide on going a different direction.
I have enough endurance issues as it is and nothing irritates me more in this game then my blue bar being molested by some of the stupid high endurance costs on powers.I'd still like to see what you came up with though hehehe
