    Basically everything that does something has an accuracy rating whether or not it is autohit. A power that summons pets will have an accuracy rating even though it's not possible to "miss" summoning a pet. Dull Pain has an accuracy rating. So does Hover. Check it out for yourself.

    And yes, I have an Elec Armor toon who has it. It cannot miss.

    When pacts came out along with shields, my friend and I tested BS/Shield on test. So we both got the chance to get up to around 18 on test. Once the stuff went live, we pacted, and then my friend got her plant/kin and dragged me into a few missions until we got to 22.

    It works, just goes twice as slow since you're pushing 50% of the exp off onto an invisible third person.
  8. *snerk* My friend pointed me at this thread. I have to admit I was morbidly curious when I noticed the OP had 2 bubbles of red, so I read on. After seeing some posts I found out why. And at some point added some more -rep for our good friend. I believe for the post where he called everyone a moron, or maybe the one where he said we all have a 5th grade education.

    With that in mind, I push on with full sarcasm:

    * 6 salvage bins which are usually full but get used frequently; one is entirely rare salvage
    * 3 enhancement bins; I recently added over 100 level 25 IOs for lowbies
    * Invention table
    * A vault
    * Teleporters to every zone

    It's even an RP base, and we still get use out of it constantly. There's always at least one person hanging out there, and RP is frequent. Our coalition has like a million people in it (I get a full page every time I click a portal). And our base has cool stuff in it. Sometimes coalition people even drop in to check out our base design. Heck, I even have screens of our base designer's Christmas tree (with ornaments), presents, and stockings over the fireplace that they just added.

    It's only useless if you don't use it for the dozens of things you can use bases for. Many of those functions are either crazy-convenient or even not possible anywhere else.

    You can't do base raids, the TP's in the base is rather outdated since you can get everyone with ourobus, wentworth tp, mission tp, and trains. Really, why have tp'er in a base when everyone uses Ourobus to TP where they need to go most of the time.
    Technically you can get everywhere by walking, so there's no need to have Ouroboros, Wentworth, mission TP, or trains. Right?

Question section is for things like "I have a base but I don't know what the point is. What all can you do with a base?" Not "You're all morons and nobody uses bases. Agree?"

    Since 100% of the people I spoke with (1 out of 1) concluded this, it's probably true. Follow-up question: Thoughts?

    Good advice. Have you considered taking this yourself? From your post history so far, you're often overly-aggressive, prone to fake fact-sputtering, and just barely over the illiteracy line. Including this post where you offer a broad insult of moron while using the wrong form of your/you're.

    You sure about this? We really aren't clear on how epics will work yet. And I know the devs are keen on making sure powers don't duplicate, so if you're banking on getting Weapon Mastery from Scrappers, there's an issue with Caltrops duplication.

I like to use the vault for stuff I know one particular character will be using and the base racks for general storage for all characters. If they change the vaults to per per account I can easily see them reducing it to 30 slots total instead of per character.
    Yeah. If I recall -- and this may have changed since the last time I played GW -- the account-wide storage was about 10x the amount of money a single toon can carry (which wasn't a big deal since you could only have like 5 characters or something), and about one page of items. So, like maybe 10 enhancements, 10 recipes, and 20 salvage or something. I'd hope the amount would be reasonable if we actually got it. And something akin to bases would probably be too much.

    Really if they just let us access an account-wide inf vault with a 2b cap, that'd be fine. The other stuff would be gravy but most of what we deal around is cash anyway.

    So's an AC. And I know they aren't required, and even mentioned that. It's still a jerk move to put those things in PvP zones, and even worse to tell people to just avoid those zones and that they can't have those things.

    Quote:
    Air conditioning is like 1 million times more important to driving a car than shivans are to playing CoX. I've had shivans on exactly one character and never once missed them. My AC broke on my car once and I seriously missed that.
    And I'd miss stat boost accolades... which require badges and plaques in PvP zones. Not even talking about Shivans and stuff here (which I love having for LRSFs and LGTFs, by the way). I'm talking about max health boosts that are tied to stuff that happens in PvP zones.

    And yeah, I live in Texas. Going without an AC would be awful. But it's still just a convenience. You can live without an AC. You'd just be hot and sweaty all the time (it's hot about 13 months out of the year in Texas). So try telling a villain they should just deal with not having +5% HP and +10 end by not going to a PvP zone. Yeah, it's a convenience. But one that everyone should be able to get. People who are wanting to do high-end content would benefit a lot from that stuff, so "just don't visit PvP zones" isn't practical.

    Quote:
    Do you feel that someone who enters a consensual PVP zone has an implicit right to NOT be attacked by the opposing side? Because that's what the guy I was responding to said: that if he's not there to PVP, he has a RIGHT to expect that other people won't attack him even if he's standing out in the open. In a PVP zone.
    Frankly I don't think this should even be an issue. These badges and stuff shouldn't even be in PvP zones. Maybe keep the temps since they're powerful and supposed to be hard to get. But accolades shouldn't require it. Really there ought to be a PvP flag (which you can't toggle on/off while inside the zone). But that's nether here nor there.

    I don't think he should expect people not to attack him. He's there to get badges or whatever. Someone else is there to PvP. But that PvPer also can't complain when I pop purples, ignore him, and laugh at his broadcast mocks. If he doesn't care what I'm up to and wants to force me to PvP, then I don't care what he's up to and will not submit to his will. I'm here for badges or shivans or whatever, and he can go jump a cliff.

    Quote:
    Do you feel this same sense of entitlement?
    I don't expect people to bow to my desires and be polite and not attack me just because I'm there for non-PvP reasons. But at the same time they should realize that by trying to force me to do what they want, I'm going to force them to do what I want, which is to say I'm going to go ahead and not PvP with them, and they can deal with it.

    This kind of weird analogy doesn't quite work because it's severely incomplete.

    There are things in PvP zones that are not related to PvP, but people want to obtain (usually for non-PvP purposes). Things like badges, plaques, and temp powers. You can of course play the game without these things, but telling people they can't have a couple accolades and various powerful temps unless they're forced to do something they don't want to do is pretty crappy.

    In your analogy it would be like if someone just got a car and couldn't have an air conditioner or power windows unless they go into House of Hotsauce. Yeah they can get away with it, but it's pretty jerkish to lure them into something they don't want to do just to get stuff they should be able to have.

    Additionally, if you go into House of Hotsauce, you're still able to just not buy anything. Not so with a PvP zone. In a PvP zone, someone runs up to you and FORCES you to chug hotsauce. There's no waiter, or a menu, and nobody saying "It's all got hotsauce; is that cool?" No, you're forced to chug hotsauce as soon as you walk in the door. And then people go "Haha, if you don't want hotsauce, why'd you come in?"

    So yeah, it'd be great if I didn't have to go into this physically abusive restaurant to get the stuff for my car, but I don't have a choice. So my options are either to go sit in my hot car, or be forced to chug hotsauce. I can see how I might feel like complaining about the situation.

    Interesting that GW has it but another NCsoft game doesn't.
    The thing is, anything you could possibly do by using an account-wide storage system can already be done, just with more steps. That's why there's really no point in not having account-wide storage.

    Are you looking to GAIN influence by GIVING infamy, or the other way around? And which server is this? Cross-server is possible but there's an inf loss due to market interactions.

    I'd be willing to help you out depending on the server, direction, and amount.

    Is this correct?
    Did you actually read past the part you quoted? Because by my full definition, arena is PvP content. Because the point and goal of it is to engage and fight with players. Fighting players in the arena is the only way you can win and succeed.

    Also, what's your opinion of the "remake" of the meteor mission - specifically the firebases - I put in? It would satisfy your requirements for a "PVP" mission, but how do you feel the resulting process would be received?
    I'm sure I'm not stressing it as much as you think I am. But speaking to NPCs and interacting with objects is still PvE content, weak as it may be. You are versus an environment, even if the only versus you face is having to travel somewhere. You're versus a time-wasting zone where you have to travel and possibly bump into obstacles (NPCs or players). In fact, blueside is full of this fun PvE content where the environment part consists of traveling across seventy zones.

    You're always in an environment. You're always dealing with NPCs, traveling, badguys, and other things. Bloody Bay is an environment. A PvP environment. PvP is part of its environment, but not guaranteed nor required. Fighting Freaks is in a warehouse PvE. But so is running a boring patrol mission around Atlas Park that involves no combat at all.

    Collecting Shivan Shards is PvE content because you are versus the environment of Bloody Bay. One of the obstacles in Bloody Bay is players. Now before you claim that that definition means there's no such thing as PvP content, collecting bounties in Siren's Call IS PvP content, because it's IMPOSSIBLE to do it without PvPing. It's still also PvE content, but that's pushed into the back seat because the point and goal of the exercise is to PvP. The point and goal of getting a Shivan Shard is not to PvP. It's merely an obstacle. A background effect inside the environment of Bloody Bay.

    Basically all content is PvE content. Because you deal with NPCs, contacts, random badguys, planned badguys, time limits, and other things. You're always dealing with the environment. You're not always dealing with PvP. When you absolutely have to PvP, that's PvP content.

    And to answer your other question, no, I don't think redoing something that offers a reward that's mostly used in PvE to require PvP is a good idea at all. But the argument isn't about whether it SHOULD be PvP content, it's about whether it IS PvP content. If it was changed the way you suggest, it WOULD be PvP content. But it would also be a bad idea.
