Quote:My understanding of the way it works is it's a real zone, but it's the zone as it was when you were actually that level. So if you have a conversation with someone and then contact them again when you finish the arc they'd be like "Dude, that was a week ago!"You can interact with them but they answer your questions before you ask them.
This is also why the devs don't allow us to do Oro to do arcs higher in level than us. If we could, we'd just ask people for lottery numbers. -

I hope they don't do a sequel. Those have a tendency to tear the community apart.

Quote:There are three types of people hovering around a new issue release.I know devs have lives and wish they had a great Easter, but its a new day and i want me shiny Ultra Mode
1) People who get stuff when it appears on live.
2) People who want to PLAY WITH and get stuff early on test.
3) People who actually want to test and get things fixed on test.
Most people who want OB are in category two. They don't want to find bugs and try to break things. They don't want to analyze things and give thoughtful feedback. They just want to play with the new shiny. In fact, they stand around complaining about how X is messed up and the devs are idiots. Then they make rage threads about how X is broken/unbalanced and they're going to quit the game.
Right now the devs apparently want/need category three, because if it's still in closed beta that means it has a ways to go. -

Quote:Really, PvP is extremely hard to balance and as far as I know, no game has it right!I might have to go with PVP. In other games i love to PVP, but in this i never want to. I'm on Virtue so there's people, it's just a Blaster vs. a Scrapper is hard. I think it's unbalanced and needs some fine tuning.
This game could have such great PVP, It just needs work. -

Anyone who wants to disagree, correct, or just make fun of you might do so in the form of -rep rather than a post. Though people do that with tags too.You can also get -rep for passing on accurate info from the devs themselves, because people are dumb.

Devs don't hate henchmen, it's just going to take a while to get them implemented! The way I figure:
* You start with 100 henchmen who are -20 to your level
* You send out your henchmen to fight heroes, starting with the weakest ones
* You send increasingly more and more powerful minions until you finally deploy your ultimate minions
* After your ultimate minions are defeated, you face the hero yourself (and die)
I wish The Jar was still around. -
Since a redname just said it's not open beta right now, if you're on the test server that means you're in closed beta.
I guess we won't have OB for another week at least. -

Quote:So wait, if it came out TODAY on live, you'd use it and play with it and enjoy it.I rarely ever try stuff out when they go into beta. I hate spoiling things for myself. Which sucks...
If it came out TODAY on test, you wouldn't want to get on because you wouldn't want to spoil it.
Even though me and everyone else you know are going to tell you all about it and spoil it before you get to see it for yourself! -

My bet is on today. It's a Tuesday and we'd have a solid 4 weeks of OB.
Of course, if it's not today I may just go mad. -
Quote:Actually the very last power had both. He does a ground-smash which is an AoE. One enemy is knocked down and the other is knocked back. I'm curious of the mechanics on that one. Knockback if defeated? 50% KD, 25% KB? Who knows?Based on what the video showed us, I can't see where you got kb from...I only show knockdown component in every power.

Give the guys more credit. We'll have a far more humorous April Fools announcement than this.

There's about twenty dozen reasons why raising the actual level cap would be a bad idea and cause problems. From their wording though it's a second set of levels. You gain "incarnate levels" to get "incarnate abilities" until your incarnate portion is maxed at 10.

Blueside especially has a TON of zones that nobody ever uses and never will unless they change. Not only that, we've seen EXCEEDINGLY successful revamps (Faultline, RWZ) as well as failed new zones. Cimerora -- admit it, if there wasn't a TF there would anyone ever go there? It's just like Terra Volta. It only exists because there's something good in it. If you put the ITF in Ouroboros, Cim would be as dead as Dark Astoria.
I know that if they focus on one of the dozens of heroside zones that need love, some people would complain villains get nothing. But even being a mostly villain player myself, I know a lot of these zones are just worthless. Besides, zones like Boomtown, Croatoa, or the Shadow Shard could be made into co-op zones, which would revitalize the area as well as add new villain content. Imagine if Croatoa was made into a 20-35 competitive/co-op zone. Instantly villains get +2 GMs and +1 TF, and we could band together for stuff or do side-specific things (like villains working for red caps) that sway the zone and cause things to happen. -
