It's Friday, but I have some things going on today. I'm thinking of shooting for Sunday night for the next CC. Any thoughts or suggestions? -

I vote no on removing the buildings.
An interesting note, the OP gave no reason, NOHING, and it spawned this many responses :P

People like to argue... even if it is about nothing.
[/ QUOTE ]
No they don't. -

Further, only one rikti comm officer in a group can open a portal and summon, and it's interuptable. Change it so they all open portals at the same time and make it uninteruptable, and I'm pretty sure people won't be using them anymore.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would, because my primary means of mitigation is mez. Held enemies don't open portals. And my opening power is generally Seeds of Confusion. It would be so worth it to confuse a whole spawn and watch them all open portals which belong to me and are summoning guys that are killing on my behalf.
Besides that, the game would never allow 15 badguys to summon 15 portals which all start summoning more guys. Even if it did, the AoEs that farm teams pack would mop up all the guys anyway. -
Aw, and here I was thinking this was going to be about mag 100 knockback.

It does lead to that inevitable question, can a male toon ever win a costume contest?
[/ QUOTE ]
After I did the CC, I ran into someone that had a costume I would've given first prize to. His name was Generic Crab AT, and he looked like a giant... crab. Crab spider, all red, with the really big steampunk hands and the really tiny insect legs. Hilariously cool. -
Just finished today's!
Had a REALLY good turnout. Much more than I had the other day.
Everyone who showed up.
My friend and I ended up picking all girls this time around. Not always the case. My whims vary. Last time I picked a lot of magic set users. Just sort of depends on my mood. We had a lot of good entries though. Was hard to pick just a few. I always announce up to 3 winners, but tend to end up picking a 4th or even 5th as runners up.
Prizes were:
1st: 5m + full costume salvage set (or +1m; set was chosen)
2nd: 2.5m
3rd: 1m
Runner Up: 500k (1 was picked)
Runner up: Operative DeWinter. DeWinter had a cute outfit that I liked that has a ringmaster quality to it. A friend of mine has a ringmaster outfit too.
Third place: Riika. My friend picked Riika, but I like the outfit too. I forgot to snag the on-screen text for this one, so: "Riika! Good use of colors, and a snazzy outfit. I like the robo 2 arm option. =)" Good mix of a variety of different sets to make one unique outfit.
Second place: Oksana Petrova. Darn communists! Nice outfit though. Simple and effective. Like I mentioned in the screenshot, she makes me think of War Witch, who is probably my favorite NPC costume for a hero.
First place: Symeta. Very nice tech costume that I enjoy. Has a simple quality to it, mixing 3 colors rather well and doing a lot with just a few parts. I tend to gravitate toward people who can do tech and robot outfits, because I can't.
Thanks to all who came, and I look forward to the next one. For the next CC, I'm thinking Friday night. Any thoughts or objections? And I'm still looking for people who can help judge or contribute cash to the next one. -
Contest starting in 30 in Cap in front of the university. Come join in!
-
It'd be nice if we just had a checkbox so we could pick whether we want "widow" or "normal" costumes. Same goes for Banes/Crabs. Some of us would like more than one outfit. We'd still have the same number of costume slots, we could just decide which ones we wanted for what purposes.

Of the three CC's I've been in redside - two were in the courtyard near the middle of MI, where the fateweaver stands, and the other was in front of Kalinda. Near the BM in Cap seems like it would be a good place, but you might not get many lowbies. Your call, but I think establishing a regular location that people can begin to associate with CC is good idea.
[/ QUOTE ]
As far as population goes, Cap seems to be the "Atlas" of redside. It has everything, including transportation to EVERY other zone (even PO, Mercy, RWZ, and Cim), a market, university, and AE building. There are a lot of people there most of the time.
I would do it in Mercy, but it seems like such an out-of-the-way place. Odd, considering Atlas is sort of the same. Yet, people always cruise over to Atlas to hang out. But redside, I always find myself in Cap.
I'm going to try to shoot for a CC tonight around 10:30 central time. 8:30 PST, 11:30 EST. I'll be giving out 5/2.5/1 unless someone wants to donate more. Everyone's welcome to show up to participate or hold your own CCs afterward. -
So, one thing I hate is that redside doesn't have an "Atlas Park" and doesn't have costume contests. Up until recently I'd only seen ONE costume contest on redside (which I won, heh).
Since my widow is all decked out besides some stuff I'm going to get with merits, I figured I'd spend some cash and do a CC. I gathered everyone in Cap and gave out prizes. I got a lot of praise and comments like "This is the (number less than 3) CC I've seen redside." The next day, I hear someone saying "Did you hear they do CCs redside now? They have them in Cap." Wait, I did that! That was me!
So now I have some cash again. I was going to do another CC earlier but the mapserver wasn't being very friendly. I postponed until later tonight. Then I thought, why not make it more public?
I'm willing to shell out 10/5/2.5m or 5/2.5/1m at least once a week to host CCs redside. Anyone else want to join in the fun? We could set dates and times, or even have multiple CCs, or pool money for really big prize CCs. We can do bio contests or even themed CCs. And of course anyone who wants to is welcome to come just to join in as a participant.
I'd like to make CCs more common redside! -

Not the best costume ever but i was runnin around and got this nice little glitch but now i wish i can do this for real.

Right now, capes seem to be disappearing any time you open an MA window. Or call a contact. Or look at a contact. Or breathe. -

Well, the OP did ask:
[ QUOTE ]
What you guys think.
[/ QUOTE ]
So that's kinda like a question, probably should be a Suggestion instead.
I think Incarnate should be an Origin. What are the mechanical differences between the Origins? Almost nothing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Plus, as far as the game lore is concerned, Incarnate IS an origin. It's not an archetype, it's what caused you to gain your powers. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Y not b/c newbies can't get them and to that so what.
[/ QUOTE ]
Because...why invite non-Incarnates to a team if the Incarnates are better at everything?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, exactly this.
My idea of an Incarnate would be a new character that has "Incarnate" as their origin. They have some advantages that the base AT doesn't normally have, like a Scrapper having ranged attacks or Defender having defense, but they get less HP/damage/something to balance it. Overall you get a more versatile character who can do just about everything (like a VEAT?), but isn't particularly powerful at any one thing. -
Yup, noticed this with Hasten, Mind Link, and Active Defense.

That's pretty nice. I haven't been able to fit those boots onto any of my characters yet. I don't like them much. But you did a pretty good job there. -

Another new costume!Psych-Out, my Psi/Mental Blaster using pieces from the Cyborg, Valkyrie, and Magic packs.

Wow, that's an awesome costume.

Surprised there isn't one. I'll start!
Two of my characters who got upgrades.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your character in black and white looks awesome. I like the picture of her sitting on the pool table.
[/ QUOTE ]
Aw, thanks. I'm in love with that outfit. That particular slot on that character has been changing a lot and has always been filled with something I didn't like much. Now it's a really good outfit. I haven't been as pleased with an outfit since I finally got roman parts for my valkyrie's base armor costume. -
[ QUOTE ]
Wings aren't a physics object in the same vein as capes. The Bolero is like the Tuxedo Jacket or the Trenchcoat. You can wing it up.
-Rachel-
[/ QUOTE ]
I hope so. I was worried if it was just "capes" or "back options" in general. I hope it stays because I have at least two costumes with wings + bolero.
Can you have wings with a trenchcoat? I was pretty sure you couldn't. -
I don't think Jay has any say in it. I think it's up to people like Posi. I believe there's a Sacred Rule (TM) that players are only supposed to ever have one cape. It may have to do with lag or something, but that's at least what I've heard when people mention things like the sybil outfits.
I just wonder if this means we can't do bolero + wings? Because my valkyrie is doing that right now. -
It's a Detail 1 and it's called Skull Mask.

AH NUTS!!! The motes don't work when you're hovering or flying
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for the heads up. A fix is on the way
[/ QUOTE ]
Another odd quirk I noticed: My shield character seems to do the Dragon's Tail animation when getting hit by a tarot buff. She's BS/Shield so I don't know what's up with that. I guess shield interferes with the emote used? But whether she's standing or hovering, if hit with a tarot card she'll drop and do a trip animation. Works when I throw it at my shield pactmate too (if she has a shield out). -

Okay, one thing I haven't seen talked about yet are the costume change emotes.
Was playing with them last night. They officially ROCK.
The ONLY downside is that they don't seem to work from the /cc command. Only from the costume change screen.
[/ QUOTE ]
Check Dev's Digest, I think BAB posted a macro/bind that you can use.
[/ QUOTE ]
Here, because it's worth repeating. Here's BABs' post:
[ QUOTE ]
Hope you guys are enjoying the costume change emotes that are part of the Magic booster pack. There have been questions here on the forums about using these outside of the costume selection screen, and the answer is "Yes. There is a console command for activating these."
The command is /cc_e or /cc_emote ('costume change emote')
The full syntax is:
/cc_e [costumeSlotSlot#] [emoteName]
There are a couple of important notes. One, the costume slot numbers start with 0. So your first costume slot is 0, your 2nd is 1, 3rd is 2, etc. Two, you need to use the actual emote name, not the display name that you see in the costume select screen's rollout. For the magic pack, these are:
<ul type="square">[*]CCPrestoChango - Presto Chango[*]CCLightning - Lightning[*]CCSpin - Spin[*]CCCast - Cast[/list]Example:
/cc_e 1 cclightning
Will switch you to your 2nd costume slot, using the "Lightning" costume change emote.
As part of a macro or bind:
/local ABRACADABRA!$$cc_e 1 ccPrestoChango
Other than that, the normal rules for costume changes apply. You can only switch costumes once every 30 seconds. If you try to use a costume change emote sooner or try to switch to the costume slot you're already in, it won't work. You'll look foolish, and everyone will laugh at you.
Cheers!

I did 7 missions last night with a team of 6-8 (people kept dropping) on a character who got her "you recieved your first architect ticket!" popup. After the 7 missions I had only earned about 300 tickets. I can normally earn that many tickets solo in just one mission.
-
Right now the only way to do it is to include some unit in the mission whose level range restricts it to the range you want. Custom units will always be 1-54.

Love the look you've got there Obsidius!
Daednu sporting her new outfit. Really like the fringe cape over the bolero look from the behind the character view.
[/ QUOTE ]
It didn't take me long to figure out you could have a bolero, high collar cape, AND a wedding veil resulting in three flowing "capes" at once. I didn't think there was any real point to it other than the humor factor, but you've proven me wrong with that nice fringe cape there.
