Yes, I am aware of a damage buff. My point is that I think the END and RECH punishment in return for that is a little extreme.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait, so a +30~40% damage increase being accompanied by a +30~40% end increase is punishment? Is this the same logic being used to complain about i15 being a small issue despite it coming out a month after i14?
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait, i15 has been out over a month already?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, it was announced and hit test pretty quickly after i14, and the last few weeks have been tweaks and clean-up. Really what I mean to say is it definitely didn't have the normal time-frame of a full issue, but people are complaining it's small nonetheless. -

Hello people!
Yes, besides being an angry forum poster and a roleplayer, I also collect art. Most of my disposable income goes to getting commissions. So if you're an artist, I'd be interested in hearing what you can do for me.
But for now, I'll use this to post pictures. I'm booked for the next two weeks, so I'll be posting pictures as I get them.
Tomatre by londerwust here on the forums
Tomatre by a friend -- website: www.my-endlessimagination.net
I have three more commissions of Tomatre coming in the next couple weeks. If you're curious who Tomatre is, her VV page is here.
If you're an artist, taking commissions, and somewhere below the $50 range, let me know! I'll be taking more in a couple weeks. -

Once they add the next expantion...why would anyone want to play a Scrapper Blue side??
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes. I prefer Scrappers with their high sustained damage without having to work with another factor (fury) to deal good damage. I also like having survival on an AT that also doesn't draw all the aggro onto themselves to the point that I feel like I have to play the most durable sets exclusively (like WP) or pick up Tough/Weave or go crazy with IOs.
The problem I always see is that people who play a specific class (Brute) always assume everyone else wants to play that class too. Contrary to your belief of how impossibly cool Brutes are, not everyone is going to stop playing other ATs to be a Brute. -

Yeah, the Defender version has a trio of hard-hitting single-target attacks that inflict some status effects on top of that.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Blaster version has the same status effects as the Defender version (the notable exception being Subdue got moved to the Mental Manipulation secondary and was replaced with Psi Dart, which has no immobilize). The major differences between the Defender and Blaster versions (speaking from a PvP perspective here) is Will Domination's damage scale got gutted in the Blaster version, and the range on the Blaster attacks is 80 feet, compared to the 100-foot range Defenders have.
[/ QUOTE ]
Blaster versions have longer recharges and shorter durations (or lower mag knockback) though. Will Domination had its damage gutted to the point of being totally worthless (outside of PvP I guess) as a damage power, but to compare the other stats:
Defender: 14s recharge, 23.8s sleep
Blaster: 20s recharge, 19.1s sleep
Also TK Blast:
Defender: 8s recharge, 8.31 mag KB
Blaster: 10s recharge, 6.65 mag KB
Overall, the Blaster psi is pretty crappy:
* The powers got longer recharges, and
* Shorter durations (which is the norm, but the two together rather sucks)
* Will Domination doesn't have the damage it should. With it only mezzing 80%, it's not a damage-dealer OR a mezzing power.
* The set lost its range with no compensation (like porting Claws to Brutes and just flat out stripping the end reduction)
* The immobilize power was replaced with a puny dart
* The cone is removed for Aim, which gives us the only set Blasters have with only one non-nuke AoE
Result is a set that is not very good for AoE (which isn't bad by itself) but also isn't very good for ST. Combine with it not being very good for debuffs or mez, and sprinkle with some highly resistant enemies at high levels. -
You probably misinterpreted him. I'm probably misinterpreting him. Heck, Johnny_Butane is probably misinterpreting him too.

When I hear customization, I want things like:
1) Color tinting. I'd like to be able to have white energy blasts or blue flames. Preferably I'd be able to make each power a different color.
2) Animation changes. Of course, it'd be unbalancing to allow us to take a 3.3 animation power and change it to an animation that is 0.63 seconds long. Ideally I'd say we'd be able to change it to any animation that's as long or LONGER than the current animation time. For many powers, I'd gladly trade up to a longer animation time if it meant I could have cooler looking animations. As I mentioned in another thread, changing Power Burst to use the Cosmic Burst animation would be cooler to me, and I'd only gain 0.07 seconds.
3) This would probably be necessary if we had #2, but emanation points (like CO). To determine where a power shoots from on your character's body. Would be used to match up with new animations, or to change it so the character does interesting things like shoot fire from their heads, or just to make it so Energy Torrent doesn't shoot from my feet anymore.
4) Sound selections! -

I do gold rolls in the 30-34 range. It's gambling, so you can get good stuff and you can get bad stuff. Usually my luck isn't that great, but this week I got a Miracle +recov and a Numina +regen/recov, so that was about 70m redside and 40m blueside for me to spend.
The downside is that when you get something crappy, you just wasted 3500 tickets. -

Most likely, you got hit with cascading defense failure. Part of your survival as WP depends on Defense, and all the Cimerorans except the Surgeons have -Def in most of their attacks. And the Surgeons heal the others, making them stay alive longer to kill you dead-er.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, WP is set up so it has pretty good RES to S/L and the DEF to it is pretty miniscule. As a result, they're hitting toward your RES. Their attacks are almost all lethal, and you don't really rely on DEF for lethal. Your DEF for S/L is really only about 4%, though if you have a ton of other powers and IOs it can be more -- one of my characters has about 16%.
However, while you won't lose a significant amount of your basic mitigation, you will still end up with negative DEF scores which will mean you take damage more often. That sounds kind of confusing and contradictory, but what it comes down to is they will cut you down so that you're easier to kill, but at least you're in a better position than you would be if you were actually RELYING on that lethal defense. You still have HP, RES, and regen to fall back on.
In my experience, WP does pretty good on an ITF. It actually suffers more against the nictus groups than it does the Cims, because they do exotic damage types that you don't really have much RES to. -

1. You can finish your existing contacts (if any).
2. There are repeating mission contacts in Cimeroa and RWZ and for heroes only in the Shadow Shard.
3. You can do anything in Ouroboros you like though once you have done it all it would all be a repeat and not new.
4. Trials, Task forces and Strike forces.
5. Street sweep in the high level zones.
6. Earn missing badges.
7. Run radio/paper missions and safeguard/mayhem missions.
8. PvP
9. Rikti mothership raid
10. Hamidon
11. roll up a new character
12. Mission Architecht
13. Ask for more level 45-50 new content
14. Wait for Going Rogue

To everyone who played a dominator, it's a buff.
To those people who played PSW PSW PSW PSW PSW PSW PSW it's a nerf but well, [censored] them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, because expecting a really cool tier 9 to be truly effective is an EXPLOIT!! Call the XP Police, someone's actually using a cool power for fun, we can't have that....!
Honestly I can't say enough how sad I find the major push for mediocrity on these forums. Some of you will not be happy until every last decent thing in the game is nerfed into the ground.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can't honestly say I know what you're thinking, but this is an extremely selfish and misguided view of the power and subsequent change.
You realize that even with PSW reduced in attack power, halved in radius, doubled in recharge, and doubled in endurance cost, it's STILL more powerful than comparable PBAoE powers? That's, what, about 8x more powerful than it was supposed to be?
To even suggest that the power should have remained how it was and was somehow undeserving of a change is basically ludicrous. It doesn't matter that it was a tier 9. If other tier 9s followed the same system, Fire Controllers would summon 6 imps that do more damage and attack twice as fast. Head Splitter would do 300 damage base and recharge in 7 seconds. Strength of Will would last for 240 seconds (with 300s recharge) and offer 37.5% RES base. If other powers were as comparatively off as PSW was, it would be painfully, painfully obvious how incredibly unbalanced they were.
Now, you can call it "cool," "fun", "effective," "sad," or "mediocre" if you want, but the fun police are all in your head. This isn't a random or even unwarranted change of the power. It makes the set in line with all other sets. If anything, allowing a set that's tremendously better than all other sets is more "fun police" than the opposite, because if you actually want to make an effective character, you only had one option: Psi. Period. -
Dispari's 9th Weekly Redside Costume Contest
Today was pretty routine, since we had a good turnout. Also had one person complaining about the spam, and several more telling them to shut up. =p The CC today was sponsored by the Coalition of Destruction (who is also sponsoring next week) as well as Obsidian. We got a total of 15,000,000 in donations this week.
Lithium Haze (@The Godchild) helped again today as always. We had some cute costumes including some silly and joke ones, which I always like. To anyone who's curious about my selection process: funny costumes are a big seller. Really unique and eye-catching ones are good too. If you just wear a full set of anything, you won't win -- there's no creativity!
Onto the pics:
1st: 10m
2nd: 5m
3rd: 2.5m

Personally I'd rather they were working on more compelling content than customization. Being able to make your powers prettier is fine...but if I'm still taking my highly customized, dark chocolate energy blasts through the same type of missions time after time...in a while the customization won't mean much.
[/ QUOTE ]
Also, power costumization will have to be a lot more than just tinting particle effects to cut the mustard at this point.
Changing cast animations for ranged attacks and changing melee attacks at the very least.
[/ QUOTE ]
After rebalancing powers to take into account animation time, allowing players to change that time seems counterproductive.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ideally we'd only be able to select power animations that are identical in length or longer than the animation the power has been balanced around. I would gladly trade up to a LONGER animation time even if it would fiddle with my DPS if it meant I could get some really awesome cast animations.
For instance, I would like to plant Cosmic Burst's animation on Power Burst, even if that means adding 0.07 seconds to my cast time. -

I thought that was the purpose of the Darwin Awards.
[/ QUOTE ]
The purpose of a Darwin Award is to honor someone who got killed because of natural selection. It's commonly misinterpreted to mean something it isn't. Natural selection says that favorable traits are passed on. Stupidity is not a favorable trait, and if you're so stupid you got killed, you got Darwin'd.
Contrary to popular belief, to be given a Darwin Award you have to have:
1) Been killed doing something really stupid. You were eliminated because of natural selection. Alternatively, "removed from the gene pool" by having become sterile. Death is the most common gateway, though.
2) Not passed on your genes to a future generation. It wouldn't be natural selection if you passed on your unfavorable traits (note the rule about kids is a little tricky, though).
It's not just for stupid people, and not just for stupid people who DIED. You have to meet all those criteria. The rules are a little flaky in places, but you can't win a Darwin Award just by being stupid, especially for something as weak as not knowing how to spell.
If you want more information, view the rules on the website. -
Since my partner's going to be busy tonight, we're rescheduling to 9:00 TOMORROW night. So be ready around 9:00 PM CST tomorrow (Sunday).

We have 18 ATs right now
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm missing 4. 5 standard hero, 5 standard villain, 2 epic hero, 2 epic villain, what are the other 4?
[/ QUOTE ]
Two are because Widows and Soldiers can branch off into other paths and can be something totally different, so while they aren't really a new "AT," they have a totally different role and function.
The other two you can either blame on Huntsmen or khelds who are built as human-only rather than with forms. But whatever you do, DON'T blame it on my quick mental math being off because I was posting early in the morning before work while getting dressed. -
[ QUOTE ]
It's a one-time fee. There are no posts saying "I regret the 50 bucks I spent on this game and subsequent updates!" so your argument just shot itself in the foot with a freakin' railgun.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, there are. I watched the forums a lot during i14 and have been in i15. There were a lot of "MA is going to be so great I bought 6 months!" "...Now I regret it and I'm quitting when that ends!" I've also seen lots of "I own x accounts and I'm quitting because this issue has nothing I like!" and "I'm taking off my autopay and quitting if they don't add (thing player wants) to this issue."
It stands to reason that people who played forever who suddenly feel like they don't want to play would complain about it. Especially since this is basically already happening but on a smaller scale. -
You guys missed the primary reason that CoH doesn't have a lifetime subscription.
The "I regret buying a lifetime subscription to this game! I'm quitting!!" posts every open beta would get really old. -

Free slots? Possibly.
12 more slots per server? No.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thing is, if they come out with some free slots for Going Rogue, seems like they kind of jibbed the people who already bought out their home servers, doesn't it?
[/ QUOTE ]
If I know anything about people who have 36 slots, it's that they actually want more, not a reason to hate having bought those original slots. If anything, adding more slots is the only way to be FAIR to those people. We have 18 ATs right now with specific powersets and combinations, with 36 slots. If we double that by allowing the ATs to cross sides, add more powersets, and possibly new ATs without giving them more slots to try them, that's pretty lame!
It's kind of like the free CoV thing. Knowing now that the odds are rather high that EVENTUALLY Going Rogue will be offered free like CoV was, will you wait the undefined amount of time (possibly 2 years+), or is buying it when it comes out worth it to you?
There will eventually be some people who try to twist it around because they feel they deserve the stuff for free, but you bought it because it was worth it to you. If you didn't think it was worthwhile, why did you buy it? -
I think, for instance:
Thermal has +RES buffs for allies that you have to cast one at a time.
Pain has a +RES buff for allies that applies to the whole party with one click.
Significant differences:
* Thermal shields offer more RES; WoP offers a small +ToHit bonus
* Thermal shields are always available; WoP has a long recharge
* Shields need only RES; WoP needs a lot of recharge
* Shields are individual cast; WoP could hit an entire raid with pets
It's kind of like FF shields versus Dispersion. Shields are portable but Dispersion is just convenient and doesn't waste any time re-casting.
AoE buffs for things like shields would be nice. Often times, having to reapply buffs is a pain, especially when the duration is short or the team is large. And it's almost always inconvenient to try and buff pets. -
[ QUOTE ]
i cannot comprehend needing more than 36 slots for a single server
someone please explain this to me
[/ QUOTE ]
Some people only care to play on a single server, like me. Also, some of us have a lot of characters and play enough that we have a lot of high level stuff we can't delete. Right now I have 26 characters on Virtue, and I'm out of room. My friend has 36. -
Must be male? Why not a female with huuuuuuuuuuuge... tracts of land?
