    I don't think that's the problem. Even if they did that, the problem is that -1 was causing level 49 enemies. +0 would make AVs that are normally 54 to appear at level 50. It would still be easier. If they did it the other way, presumably +4 would be making level 58 AVs.

    The devs have said there are issues besides just the -1 setting. Disabling it isn't going to solve all the issues there currently are.

    I wouldn't say I'm mad about this change. It would take a lot to get me mad about something in this game. Among some things I dislike is the current state of the Mission Architect.

    I will say why I dislike this change. This game is just plain easy. I fool around and have a lot of fun doing difficult things. I used to regularly run max level SFs including the ITF, LGTF, and LRSF. Normal content is easy. It's not challenging and not very fun. I can only tolerate normal content for so long.

    Back before merits, everyone ran on the highest difficulty. When merits rolled out, people started running them on the lowest difficulty to get to the merits quickly. After a couple of these, I got really bored. Sure I got merits, but I don't want to do an hour or two of really easy content just to get rewards. For a while, I quit doing them.

    Then I met a Crab Spider who had the idea of doing an ITF on max difficulty as fast as possible. Being a challenging TF, I jumped on board. It was a tough run, but I had a lot of fun. People actually died, and we learned some stuff about building a wall of a team. We went on to do regular speedruns of the ITF, LGTF, and LSRF. On max. While people left and right were saying the LRSF was hard, we were saying "Let's put it on max. And rush the last fight. Pulling is for chumps!" Now that stuff is fun.

    So when the new difficulty appeared, one of my friends quickly said "Hey, let's do an ITF on +4." I was getting ready to go to bed, but for that sort of nonsense, I was in. The last fight was incredibly difficult, but we burst through and finally won after quite a bit of bloodshed. I quickly pondered the possibility of a +4 LGTF, and inevitably a +4 LRSF. And yes, no pulling.

    Since then I've also done an all Dominator task force just for fun. I also like mothership raids because of all the level 54 Rikti and the mad chaos that ensues. I play this game for fun, and +0 enemies are not a challenge whatsoever. I'm not angry about this change, but I can't say I'm excited about it either.

    As much as I dislike this change, I expect it's for technical reasons and isn't permanent. That's one reason I'm not angry about the change. I'm only disappointed. The same way I am of the MA. I'm patiently waiting for a better change to roll through. In the meantime, there are other things I can do in this game. I'm having fun leveling up some of my new i16 characters, including my new Plant/Earth that was in the all-Dom TF.

    Unfortunately, I just won't be doing any task forces until it changes.
  5. My Widow is very durable and can handle a lot. Though she only has +DEF to rely on so once lots of enemies start hitting her, she falls.

    My WP Brute seems to be my most durable. She seems to be able to handle 6 person spawns of +2 enemies fine, and she just runs on standard IOs.

    Controller

    It's important to note that this game isn't about "best build" like other games. You don't have to play Empathy to be invited to a team. People won't go "Ew, Storm? Go roll a real Controller, nub." This game isn't WoW, Guild Wars, or Ragnarok Online. There are not builds or powers that are required to do anything in this game (although a few people shout about Granite Armor and Fulcrum Shift).

    Don't worry yourself with trying to find the optimal build, because this game is very open. Pick something you think sounds good, and have fun playing it. Believe me, you'll have more fun playing your own idea of a character than someone else's.

    That's one reason I've taken to flight recently. Speed Boosted hover is quite manageable.

    Level 50 Snobs

    This thread is kind of weird. It's of the assumption that level 50s don't want to exemp now, but did before. My view of exemping hasn't changed. I also haven't ever gotten someone to ask my level 50 to exemp to 20 for no apparent reason. Neither before nor after i16. Rest assured, if someone asked me to exemp my Widow from 50 to 20 for no reason, I would say no. But I would have said no before i16 too.

    I'm not against exemping as a rule. But there's a limit where I'll drop to. It's generally around 32. My main issue with exemping is that enhancements decay to an annoying degree. Past a point I actually end up with LESS accuracy and LESS defense than I ACTUALLY HAD at that level. Meaning as a level 50 character, I'm actually weaker at level 20 than when I ACTUALLY WAS level 20.

    There are also a lot of powers and attributes for my characters that I lose when exemping which I'm not that fond of. My Widow loses a lot of +DMG and some recharge bonuses right off the bat if dropping lower than 47. If she drops lower than 32, she no longer has perma Mind Link. I also lose powers I really like, and my build has no AoEs below 30 because I did a lot of soloing up through that point.

    I'm fine to exemp if there's a reason for it. If I'm doing a task force for instance. Though I'd rather switch characters and pick up a more appropriate class if necessary. But it's not that cool if I play and enjoy my character the way she's built, and someone thinks I'm a snob if I don't want to play her the way THEY think I should.

  13. If it is true, I suspect it's because roleplayers care a heck of a lot more about pretty power colors than the people on Freedom do. To some of the complainers I heard, i16 is a waste of an issue for people who wanted new content. Over here on Virtue, we're enjoying our green fire.

    I see his point, but it would be nice if the game was more flexible. There are other ways to tell new players that something should be done with X players that doesn't involve messing with other people. Right now it's totally possible to do any TF with just one person. It just requires extra steps. Extra steps that really shouldn't be necessary.

    The number should still exist. There should just be a popup that has to be acknowledged that says "This TF may not be possible with less than X people." And not just text in the window, I mean an actual popup so that people pay attention to it. If that's not enough to deter newbies, that's not the devs' fault.

  22. I agree everyone should have mez protection. But it should be an option, and not mandatory. Those who opt for the mez protection route should also get a high HP modifier and high damage. But to balance that out, they'd also be limited to melee attacks, and not get any buffs or debuffs.

    Yeah, this a million times. Instead of tweaking the merits all the time, make it so each difficulty has its place.

    And make there be a reason to run a TF on +2 difficulty, or even +4. I did a +4 ITF the other day and it was really nuts.
