ice will work underwater, it does in real life, why not in a game, fire does to if its hot enough and stone is no problem, as long as they are on the ocean floor. you can even have new stone designs, like coral style.
guns can work under water too, all a gun is is a trigger and pin hammer, the bullets are air tight. besides, if "gun fu" can have bullets bend in air, why not just let them shoot underwater
If you look above BaBs has pointed out why he is opposed to this. It would take a huge amount of extra animations for this to work properly and look right, which could be better spent on new power sets or tech.
The new animations are required as motion underwater is signifigantly different to motion on land.

Also, are you assuming we can all breath underwater? Or would we all need to done rebreathers?

A big chunk of the development for power pools is figuring out the stuff I mentioned to keep the customization simple, but still flexible enough to make everyone happy with the choices.

Kind of... as I understand it they still have to re-export (render, process...?) every power to give it the ability to have different colours. Originally the colours were baked into the animation and they had to redo them all to allow customisation. So I would guess that to do the power pools they would also need to redo the powers again.

Not to say your point on the UI isn't valid, it's a big hurdle and people will complain having to have the yellow pompoms for 5 mins before they can hit a tailor.
  3. What flavour character are you? Stalkers can miss out on XP by not killing their way through and end up short.

    Team quit rant

    1) When things go wrong, some folks just quit. They say, sorry, I gtg. Then when I look in the search a minute or two later, they're teamed again.
    2) Quitting in the middle of the mission to do something else. In this case, I was on a team for regular missions with 3 toons who were in coalition with my SG. Someone in the coalie chat announces 'Free farm, any lvl'. All 3 quit and then in coalie chat, they tell the farmer to invite them.
    3) Quitting in a Task Force. So a task force, like an ITF, runs over 40 mins and this toon quits. I tell my SG mates and they told me that particular player likes to speed and only plays up to a certain time. Anyway, we finish the TF 10 mins later. Wouldn't have hurt for him to stay would it?
1: If I'm not having fun I'll quit a team. It may be because the leader was being a tool, or we spent too much time waiting on people. I'll almost always finish the mission though.
2: Same as above really. I don't tend to quit mid mission unless something serious comes up.
3: I've quit on a total of 1 TF ever and it was because my connection failed. I've failed others where the team has disbanded but that just happens sometimes. I'm with you on this totally.

Oh.. and welcome to the game.

There is a difference between an old suggestion and one that was discussed about a week ago and could have been found with search easily enough.

And to highlight the other thread:

For: Limits lag from people spamming powers, is quieter. Others detoggling is easier for them.

Against: Having to retoggle 11 toggles just to drop off 3 bits of salvage on the way through. Not being able to use travel powers. Not having to spend time retoggling is easier for them.

I can see both points and as I pointed out in the first reply a happy medium would be a 'back room'.
  7. *grabs popcorn and settles in*

But seriously, been suggested, lots. Half the community are ok with it, the other half would quit.

Best suggestion so far would be a room where people can go with suppression.
  8. Hehe, reading throught this thread sounds like a marketing brochure for a pyramid scheme or similar.

But seriously, great guide Fury. I'm one of the players that falls into the doesn't put what I read into practice. Sometimes I do, but mostly I'm not bothered. But then I'm also one of the minority who doesn't blame the marketeers for high prices. If I need cash I'll definetly be doing this.

That one is old, outdated and potentially full of viruses etc through the ads.

    And yeah, it's boomtown.

Thanks Rachel, this pretty much. It's a pretty wild theory. Personally I think there are 2 reasons we've seen higher server strain since GR.

1: There are more people. I've seen more new people around and I'm in the EU.
2: Praetoria takes a higher toll on the servers.

I could be wrong, I hope i am and that there really are that many more people.

So what was it? Was the queue system introduced with GR or were you using it before I13? At least be consistent with your conspiracy theories.

And no, I don't think fear of the once-in-a-blue-moon ambush is a particularly good reason.

At any rate, My theory is that it has to do with lag. If the pets are re-created on the other side (they don't actually transition with you) before you've fully transitioned in then they'll be masterless. I've noticed the faster someone is at transitions the less it happens to them, and the slower the more often.
Mainly because it takes over a bar of end to summon all 3 tiers and use both upgrades plus the time it takes making your teammates wait. Yup, if I'm not missioning for a while I'll release them, but if I'm moving from one mish to another I won't.
  21. OMG.. Ultra rare, totally unnecessary, stuff is expensive... what are we going to do?!
  22. That was brilliant. I always assumed the buyer ran, but still worth watching.

Thank you for that succinct post. I've been in a similar boat to the OP and it's interesting to get a solid consolidated post explaining it.
