Also, when you run the Arc normally you can all talk to the contact (provided you are in the correct level range) and run the missions as Co-Op. Everyone who has the mission gets the credit. This only works if you all start the arc at the same time, or run the person/people behind's Missions till they catch up.

Nah, you need to read his other threads. He has a very similar post to this in the Market Forums plus and older one complaining about the prices from the weekend and a 4th with a build containging the aforementioned purples and PvP IO's. Which he can't afford cos the marketeers are clearly cornering the market on these very expensive, very rare (ultra rare even) items which he feels any casual player should be able to have.

Buy up all the corn, or corn futures, that will arrive on Wall Street for the year. Then set your own price as to the selling price corn we be for that year. THis is especially easy to do in the game with items that are limited drops. (like PvP I/Os, purps, etc.)

So, I now know exactly how to approach the Devs to complain about who exactly is ruining play for their consumers, and exactly how they are doing it. Wish me luck.
Hehehe, you're cute. You make me laugh with your wild theories.

Hmm, no I think you would need to do them through Ouro if you are a level 50.
  7. Kinda of sounds like science to me. I feel Tech means you use physical technology to enhance your powers.

Lol, you realise that you aren't buying them from a store right...? And that the price is set by your fellow players..? And that you don't NEED them?

I call them PvP IOs because they only drop from PvP kills. As PvP isn't hugely active the rate of drops is low, and demand is high. Prices reflect that. The Devs have put a secondary method, using Alighment Merits to get them. It's expensive, but again, you don't need them and they aren't meant to be in every build.

I have 42 months in this game, most of my toons are SO'd, and one, ONE, has a couple billion in it. These things are selling for 2 bill each, so, let me think, I would need to game about 20 years at my current rate to get one toon filled with these things.

Do the developers really believe this is what makes for a happy gaming community? I think I am gonna log for a month or two. I can workout, play music, do art, but I'll be damned if I sit and farm for 3 months to afford like 3 of the things that I figure i'll need 18 of.
Fine non-PVP and non-Purple alternatives. They are Ultra Rare, meant to be hard to get. Maybe PvP, you might get one drop. Or run level 50 content for Purples.

I can solo it all the way up to +4/8 (no bosses) and still get it cleared relatively quickly. Should I keep the level at 4/8 (no bosses) or would a drop to 2/8 (bosses) for a speed increase be more helpful. Thanks for the feedback.
As long as the mobs are over level 47 I don't think the mission level matters.

Dunno if you ever got an answer to this, but if they are common IOs (not set IO's) then their either level 10 or level 15. 15's can't be slotted till level 12.
  12. Pure awesome. Tested it very briefly last night but worked a charm. Loved being able to export my build and one click my badge.

Not at all worried about it. I do have a minor issue with one of my exports where the level 45 power pick had a greyed icon. I'll look into it more and see if it was a one off or persistant.

I've been hunting around for some answer to this on the servers but haven't found anything. Am I going mad? The only thing the NA people got special was the special enhancements that came with the boxed retail full version from Gamestop (maybe, one of the retailers).

The Full version came with the Alpha and Omega auras and costumes plus the useless shadow power. This is available on the online store. You can purchase the items seperatly with the item pack.

Thanks to the OP for putting this together though. If not for guides like this I'd have no idea what was going on in this game.
It was underwhelming cos there was nothing to do with it. They have added in the new TF's now which all but NEED the incarnate slot. The effects were still good.

Hmm, on the EU site (I'm also in the EU) in £ the super boosters are £5.99, the Mac, GvE and Wedding packs are £5.99 and the Party and GR packs are £4.99.

However, somewhere in this thread Black Pebble confirmed the price for this pack (in US$) is the same as the Super Boosters.

    Edit:

BP's post: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...23#post3275423 Has the price in all 3 currencies and match the 'super' booster prices.

As to the other 'super' boosters, they are a similar, yet different thing (note the 'super' there).

I mean come on people, you can't compare a Buick GN to a Chevy Monte Carlo, even if they both happen to be G-bodies.

    TR
Are the buick and the chevy the same price? The booster pack is the same price as the super booster so it's fair to compare what you get for your money in the 2.

    Different strokes, and all that.
Kinda... I bought the Cyborg pack cos I wanted self destruct. Not for any power gaming reason, I just wanted to blow up. The Mac Pack I loved Mission TP and I just Ninja run a lot. But I probably would have bought them for the costumes if the powers weren't there.

You'd be surprised... one of my closest friends in game is similar to you. Her husband and son are both avid WoWers but she got into CoH.

As for me, I saw this come out and loved the idea but with my old machine, low pay and girlfriend it wasn't going to work. When we broke up I was in HMV and saw the GvE edition on the shelves for £6 including a months free play. 'Yoink' Didn't team for the first month or so in game, froze whenever I got a blind invite. Then ended up doing a respec trial which lead to my first global friends and it's been uphill from there since. Still have my first MA/SR scrapper at 50 and working out how to IO him out finally. Looking back now.. I had no idea!

New machine now, UM is fantastic. 2nd account was purchased last month on a whim, it's fun and frustrating playing with the basic game without Vet rewards and booster powers though.
  24. I thought the problem was technical, not a design decision.
  25. How about... if you fulfill the requirements you are given an unlock token which can be used on any character that fits the requirements of the costume piece. Defeated Mooks but can't use the Tommy Gun? Use the token on another character instead. Done the ITF, but don't like the roman gear on this toon, use it on another instead.

While I don't mind unlockable costume pieces I would like to see them either global or exchangeable as above.

And for those who say it's a reward for THAT toon, what's stopping my toon giving it to someone else? 'Ohh, I just got this shiny Nemesis Rifle... I'll give it to my friend GunZ as he likes rifles.'
